Hi Jerry, good morning in Ajijic. Congrats!! I like your videos and the way you tell your stories and experiences. You and Lynn are good human beings. Few years ago I started to learn English by watching some videos on youtube and listening to live internet radio. Somehow this video came up and I'm sure I watched it before, but when you spoke of Jesus, it reminded me of my best friend. Now, I call him Chuy, too. Sweet guy never corrected me, ever. He has helped me grow and I wish I could be half as good as he is.
Life is good when you have money and also that Mexico is open to have you and let you spend your money there. In USA, you are nobody but in Mexico you are somebody and that's the way it is. I Love Mexico and the Mexican people but you do need to spend money there and that's good. More for the pesos in Mexico an what you would get in the good old USA. Also we don't think we should give up Medicare because there are fees every year to get it back if we decide to go back or visit the US. Thanks
We didn't give up Medicare because we travel in the States, A and B, we don't have D because we bring our own meds when we travel. We've lived in Mexico for 18 years, but still have a US address .... two actually, a business connection in Oregon and brother in SD .... Medicare, IRS, mail etc for us goes to Oregon. Funny, I thought to ask you about banking there while watching your vid on home security and then found this one. Speaking of security. I walked through Wats in LA once and did not really know anything about it and did not feel endangered. It's all in your mind. I will look through your vids about what it would cost me to live there. Well, you're not going to beat your VA health care price wise here in Mexico. Quality and care wise ... maybe. I love Vegas ... in the winter. Too hot for much of the year. Congratulations on achieving 11,000 subscribers. Your channel is really growing fast. I use the debit card from my credit union account in the US. The fee is low and it works with few problems. Aint technology great.
My bank, if you use your debit card internationally, the foreign currency amount is deducted and then there is a 1% international transaction charge that goes to MC/Visa. Traditionally the most current/best rate will be when you use your debit card.
The RUclips link was not my site. I just wanted some perspective since my wife, Rosemary Czubaj, and I have reserved an efficiency on 16 de Septembre in Ajijic from 3Jan19 to 31Mar19. In particular, she will be starting radiation treatment next week for a month. I understand the reference to Flint, since we moved to Grand Rapids, her hometown, last year. We spent the previous 20 years in Boulder, Colorado and know the sweet taste of Eldorado Springs water. We even met a nice South Dakotan from near Sioux Falls, Christine Hart MD.
Hey JC, thanks for the great videos. We have lived in Michoacan near Mazamitla for 5 years and have been searching for a way to save on ATM fees. Well, I think the answer is to open a bank account in the USA with Charles Schwab. They have an account called "Schwab Bank High Yield Investor Checking Account" which has no monthly fees and no minimum balance. When you open an account they send you Visa Debit cards that can be used at any ATM. At the end of each month they return any ATM fees you have incurred during the month. The only hitch is that you have to be in the USA at least 6+ months a year. Since we have no reason to return NOB, that requirement blew it for us being able to open an account. Also, if your planning on retiring in Mexico, you might want to check into and open this Schwab account before you come down to Mexico. My 2 cents....hope it helps someone. Check it out!
I have a Capital One account that works as well. Schwab is better if you can get it. Cap One 360 has no cooperating ATMS in the area here at Lake Chapala, but the big savings is in no ISA fee ... 3% international transaction fee. The ATM fee of a couple of dollars is not much if you withdraw like 10k pesos at a time. And now, even most small business can take a debit card ... so we no longer need that big cash bundle every month from the ATM.
I have noticed one gets a far better exchange rate when one pays by US cc/debit as opposed to cash. However, most mom and pop shops only accept cash in Mexico. (Restaurants, big supermarkets/ box stores and oxxo's, accept US CC/Debit) More bang for your buck.
You're talking about the border and tourist areas where they will take dollars and short you every time. They don't take dollars away from tourist areas. No dollars here.
Fun couple. Ha, when you were reading that last letter I shook my head, knowing what you meant about people not knowing how to put a sentence together! I found that many people who use their cell phones didn't use a single punctuation. It drove me nuts! I didn't know why. Then I realized it was because they were using the speech option. I thought, "hmm, I wonder if I just say "period"". It worked. It's that easy. I got so used using that option, though, that when I left someone a voice msg the other day I accidentally said "period" when I was done, haha.
LOL! It works most of the time. My iPhone will occasionally write out the word period or comma. My problem is when it types something not even close to what I spoke and I don't catch it.
You two are adorable. I'm watching this on March 14 2019 and have just subscribed. To bad I wasn't the 10000 subscriber. A day late and a dollar short as always...LOL!
Mazel tov! 2K in 2 days!
Very happy fourth. Enjoy watching your channel.
I know what you mean! Our water guy's name is Butch and every time I'd put it in my phone it would write out B*tch instead, grrr.
Thanks for the great information. And congratulations, to you and Lynn, on the success of the channel! Kiss her!
