One idea I think would be really cool is having the game record the worldwide percentage of which characters live and die across all playthroughs, and then use that to determine which survivors enter the fog if/when they give the game a chapter.

I will say, I definitely see your point about Frank Stone being a Trapper Knockoff. But I think there's reason behind that beyond nostalgia. The cast of survivors for the game also appears to resemble some original survivors, mainly Dwight, Claudette, Zarina, and Adam. And part of the Omniverse that we've seen is that the Entity will sometimes pick up different versions of the same survivor (Haddie vs Haley, Claudette vs Claudine, etc). I'm not positive about this, but we could potentially get some multiverse shenanigans with people seeing versions of themselves in the Fog. Or they could be entirely separate characters. Who knows.
I really hope not, having loads of stuff happen in an alternate universe feels like a fake-out, it doesn’t effect our main characters and can be easily re-written. What would be really cool and a good use of the multiverse in this game would be that at the end of the game, your main character is taken into the Realm so long as you made certain decisions. There would be three ways of getting them in as the ending and in the ending, The Entity would show the character different versions of themself that made different choices and still ended up in the realm. I think that’s how they should use cosmic horror rather than having alternate versions of characters we already know

We get this in the lore occasionally, one of my favourites is when Danny Johnson (Ghostface) referenced a killer called ‘The Miner’ who is obviously supposed to be Evan MacMillan. Having this be an alternate universe means there is absolutely no way that what happens in cedar hills can be referenced in or have an effect on our main cast, whereas if it’s in the same universe the events of the game could be carried down through different characters, having big effects. I.e: Zarina could’ve made a documentary on Frank Stone and that’s what originally attracted The Entity to her, as she got close to discovering its existence. Maybe Elodie went hunting for Frank’s trophies (the metal horse) or his mask and it strengthened her ties to The Entity.

Personally I think all three interpretations are correct: Casting (steel) relates to Frank modifying his mask and tools and using cast steel to recreate hooks from The Entity’s Realm Casting (for a film) relates to Frank copying Evan in some way and making recordings of his murders, based on the film reels Casting (biblical) In the bible, “he who is without sin may cast the first stone” means that only those who are without wrongdoing may judge others. Maybe Frank sees himself as a biblical figure doing The Entity’s bidding, considering he calls himself ‘a creature forged to purge the world’. The song ‘Daylight’ used in the trailer has strong biblical ties to being manipulated by sin. So, I think this is all saying that Frank saw an Overlap and learnt of Evan, despite knowing this was wrong, he cannot resist The Entity and develops and obsession with it, falling into a delusion where he sees himself as being empowered to become The Entity’s manifestation on earth. Desperate to be accepted by it, he creates tapes to ‘cast’ himself as a killer in the realm. Now, this sounds a lot like a Black Vale disciple, and considering The Black Vale have strong ties to the 60s and 70s when the game is set (The Garden of Joy, The Chilean Coup, The Doctor) I wonder if he was somehow connected to them.

I honestly think it's Frank who saw the Entity and changed, but the other way around: the way Frank murdered and tortured people, using also tools we find in the trials, such as the hooks, was noticed by the Entity, that attached itself to him when it first started feeding. After some time, it reused all it had seen from Frank to build the trials, and guaranteed itself a lasting meal.
While I think this is plausible, I doubt The Entity took until 1962 to start The Trials. But who knows, maybe this silly little serial killer that likes to cast inadvertently caused the death and kidnapping of entire planets and his dumb ass doesn’t even know it lol

I think some other lore ideas explored in the tomes may be relevant to this game's story. It is mentioned multiple times through out the tomes that what is reality in one world is fiction in another. The Trapper has comics written about his crimes in a world where Evan Macmillian never existed. Frank Stone may not be real in the reality of the game, but an urban legend who manifest into this game's reality through an overlap . There are also alternate versions of existing characters we have seen in the fog. There is an alternate of Claudette named Claudine, as well as others I'm not remembering. It is possible the 4 survivors we see in this trailer are alternate versions of survivors we have in game. All of this is speculation, I wouldn't be surprised if this none of this is the case. But supermassive has a basis in the lore to something really wacky with this story I feel like a lot of people aren't considering.

Unsure if relevant but there could also be the possibility of a play on words with the title and the saying "To cast the first stone": being quick to blame, criticize or punish. Not quite sure how it would tie in narratively, but could be interesting to theorise around. Perhaps a character is framed for Frank's actions or Frank himself is framed for someone else's? Or the whole "Quick to Punish" thing could be Frank's modus operandi? No clue but it could be interesting to think about, maybe?
Considering the hooks and the generator image on steam page, this is the first trial before entity copied over, I'm assuming frank will put the cast through his little game where they might actually have to activate generators to get out. The entity might also somehow be manipulating him. Casting of frank stone because he plays an important ROLE in entity's expansion and creating the trial grounds. (Possibly frank might have some connections to the black vale.) Thats just my theory lmao

Frank's gonna become a killer in the fog most likely, but one of two options will be possible. Either he's a legendary skin for an existing killer like you say, OR he'll be an original killer with the implication being the entity is so impressed with his devotion to the cause that it'll give him a makeover to make him stand out. The entity already put a lot of work into the Trapper's look it won't let a copycat run around the fog.
Personally, when I say the title the CASTING of frank STONE, I thought of him maybe throwing himself into the entity’s world or whims, or throwing himself from his own world, because casting can also mean throwing like, casting the stone across the lake
They also made all of the dark pictures anthology, a very uneven series of games, and is closer to what I expect the new game to be in terms of quality.

I'm interpreting Frank's and Evan's similarities being because they're the same, but in a alternate reality DbD did explored alternative realities before (examples being Haddie herself and how one of the House of Arkam stories explored what were pretty much alternate versions of the 4 og survivors)

Talking about frank stone being to similar to trapper i had a random interesting idea of the entity corrupting and twisting him as the game progresses. Starting with trapper and ending up with something like blight or maybe even dredge, a twisted abomination of molten metal that has bloody hooks jutting out of it. It's liquid flesh bleeding and being torn away as it chases you.
Imagine ok. Frank goes through all these sacrifices to get into the fog. Molded himself to be the trapper, to say "Im ready to in your loyalty" only for the Entity to say "Nah Fam" and fucking murder Frank.
It would be amazing if Frank ends up being a survivor instead of a killer. Like dang, The Entity is gonna eat so much with is emotion being everywhere like, "Yey! Im in the realm! Not yey! I'm a victim of these killers!"

I fully expect that Frank Stone will be the "antagonist" for the 1st half of the game, much like the masked man from Until Dawn. But, he will probably bite more than he can chew as he may just end up dead, and being replaced by Trapper himself, kinda like the wendigo in Until Dawn. But of course, he may not entirely be dead. Much like with the ironic fate with Josh, he too may join the trials, but as a a survivor in the main game

I don’t really enjoy the the possibility for him to be an anniversary killer. as a paragraph it would be cool, but I’m not sure if this would be a great idea for an anniversary event. That’s just my opinion though.
I'm thinking the people that was killed by him wasn't actually killed by him and instead was taken by the entity but he got blamed for it, so he sits there and makes this armor and weapons but doesn't leave the mill just incase the entity comes back so he can get taken and help the people that got taken. The people are actually his friends that got taken and he's trying to save them. Idk that's my Theory.

One issue I have with Supermassive that I don't see talked about a lot is their misuse of indigenous culture things as horror monsters, until dawn using w*ndigos as they're a halloween creature rather than a part of a closed culture is what caused them to be used by other things, which hurts the tribes involved since its very important to them

I'm Navajo and i've never met a single person from the res who has cared about the use of skinwalkers in fiction and a friend of mine who is Cree says its the same for people he knows with the wendigo the only people I've ever seen complain have been on the internet. Since I saw the Trailer I've been waiting to see what you had to say.
Unsure if relevant but there could also be the possibility of a play on words with the title and the saying "To cast the first stone": being quick to blame, criticize or punish.
Not quite sure how it would tie in narratively, but could be interesting to theorise around.
Perhaps a character is framed for Frank's actions or Frank himself is framed for someone else's?
Or the whole "Quick to Punish" thing could be Frank's modus operandi?
No clue but it could be interesting to think about, maybe?
Considering the hooks and the generator image on steam page, this is the first trial before entity copied over, I'm assuming frank will put the cast through his little game where they might actually have to activate generators to get out. The entity might also somehow be manipulating him. Casting of frank stone because he plays an important ROLE in entity's expansion and creating the trial grounds.
(Possibly frank might have some connections to the black vale.)

I wonder if they’ll do a small retcon and have Kenneth Chase himself appear as someone working there. He was active in the 70s, so it’s possible he worked there for money and sneaked off to pretend to be a circus act at the same time
Frank's gonna become a killer in the fog most likely, but one of two options will be possible. Either he's a legendary skin for an existing killer like you say, OR he'll be an original killer with the implication being the entity is so impressed with his devotion to the cause that it'll give him a makeover to make him stand out. The entity already put a lot of work into the Trapper's look it won't let a copycat run around the fog.
Personally, when I say the title the CASTING of frank STONE, I thought of him maybe throwing himself into the entity’s world or whims, or throwing himself from his own world, because casting can also mean throwing like, casting the stone across the lake
Just saying: Supermassive made Until dawn. Dbd fans want Until Dawn. Until Dawn is incredible.
They also made all of the dark pictures anthology, a very uneven series of games, and is closer to what I expect the new game to be in terms of quality.

I'm interpreting Frank's and Evan's similarities being because they're the same, but in a alternate reality
DbD did explored alternative realities before (examples being Haddie herself and how one of the House of Arkam stories explored what were pretty much alternate versions of the 4 og survivors)

Talking about frank stone being to similar to trapper i had a random interesting idea of the entity corrupting and twisting him as the game progresses. Starting with trapper and ending up with something like blight or maybe even dredge, a twisted abomination of molten metal that has bloody hooks jutting out of it. It's liquid flesh bleeding and being torn away as it chases you.
Imagine ok. Frank goes through all these sacrifices to get into the fog. Molded himself to be the trapper, to say "Im ready to in your loyalty" only for the Entity to say "Nah Fam" and fucking murder Frank.
It would be amazing if Frank ends up being a survivor instead of a killer. Like dang, The Entity is gonna eat so much with is emotion being everywhere like, "Yey! Im in the realm! Not yey! I'm a victim of these killers!"
need this game to have a massive red herring at the start of the game that teases that skull merchant will be in the game just for it to not happen at all
I fully expect that Frank Stone will be the "antagonist" for the 1st half of the game, much like the masked man from Until Dawn. But, he will probably bite more than he can chew as he may just end up dead, and being replaced by Trapper himself, kinda like the wendigo in Until Dawn.
But of course, he may not entirely be dead. Much like with the ironic fate with Josh, he too may join the trials, but as a a survivor in the main game

Let’s hope this won’t be one of Supermassive’s games where the dialogue is cringe or the story doesn’t make sense.

I don’t really enjoy the the possibility for him to be an anniversary killer. as a paragraph it would be cool, but I’m not sure if this would be a great idea for an anniversary event. That’s just my opinion though.
I'm thinking the people that was killed by him wasn't actually killed by him and instead was taken by the entity but he got blamed for it, so he sits there and makes this armor and weapons but doesn't leave the mill just incase the entity comes back so he can get taken and help the people that got taken. The people are actually his friends that got taken and he's trying to save them. Idk that's my Theory.

But this seems like a BIG part of it, a mystery of cosmic proportions. The chapter would be an advertisement for the game, not the other way around

One issue I have with Supermassive that I don't see talked about a lot is their misuse of indigenous culture things as horror monsters, until dawn using w*ndigos as they're a halloween creature rather than a part of a closed culture is what caused them to be used by other things, which hurts the tribes involved since its very important to them

I'm Navajo and i've never met a single person from the res who has cared about the use of skinwalkers in fiction and a friend of mine who is Cree says its the same for people he knows with the wendigo the only people I've ever seen complain have been on the internet. Stuff like that isn't a large part of native culture it's just like the concept of giants isn't important to Scandinavians.
