- बांग्लादेश की प्रधानमंत्री शेख़ हसीना ने हाल ही में घोषणा की है कि 1971 की ‘लिबरेशन वार’ के बाद से ढाका के मोहम्मदपुर में बसे जिनेवा कैंप में रह रहे ‘बिहारी पाकिस्तानी’ लोगों के लिए मकानों का प्रबंध कराया जाएगा. ढाका के मोहम्मदपुर इलाक़े के बीचोंबीच रहने वाले क़रीब चालीस हज़ार लोग वो हैं जिनके परिवार 1947 के बँटवारे के समय बिहार से तब पूर्वी पाकिस्तान चले गए थे. बीबीसी हिंदी संवाददाता नितिन श्रीवास्तव और कैमरामैन शिब शंकर चटर्जी ने 2016 में इस इलाक़े का दौरा किया था:

But these Biharis pretend to be 'Urdu-speaking' -- even though they can hardly manage to speak a proper sentence in standard/idiomatic Urdu.

And i second that only the elites and well educated among muslims have impeccable knowledge of URDU which they apply in using it as well.

As an academic we never get the answer because the Bangladesh govt never reveals the numbers. They say millions and millions but still waiting for numbers.

They are free to leave Bangladesh for their beloved Pakistan but it is pyara pyare Pakistan that is letting them down by not taking them back, so it's a kick in the teeth to them but yet these guys are clueless and still day dreaming to this day of returning to Pakistan or India. I would be happy if they want to leave Bangladesh, whatever is best for them plus it would free up some much needed space in Bangladesh, we shouldn't get in the way of them leaving but it is India or Pakistan that is not taking them back so this isn't our fault.
