My favorite quote from a sniper came from a US sniper taking about the battle for Falluja, Iraq. He was asked by the interviewer "how fast were you getting rounds down range?" and his response was "Fast enough that the enemy didn't like it"

Top sniper shot is held by a Canadian Unknown Canadian Special Forces Sniper
No one knows the name of this Canadian sniper because he’s still out there, giving terrorists a reason to consider giving up on terrorism altogether - lest they get a bullet they won’t even see coming.
This special operator from the great north took down a Taliban fighter in Afghanistan from more than two miles away. Using a McMillan TAC-50 sniper rifle from an elevated position, he fired the shot from nearly twice as far as the weapon’s maximum range. In 10 seconds, it was all over.

There’s not enough support for our veterans unfortunately, the VA in the US is horrible. My brother’s provider prescribed medicinal marijuana along with CBD oils and that has worked wonders for his short temper and PTSD. He used to come visit and if anyone opened the door while he was asleep he’d jump right up and go into combat mode. Like this guy my brother did multiple tours in Iraq and Afghan plus he was also in Kosovo. His last tour broke him completely, and like this sniper attempted suicide multiple times. Therapy and marijuana helped my brother come out of the fog and as a family we try and support him as best we can. I cannot even begin to understand how they feel but the veterans need a greater support system and better facilities. They’ve sacrificed more than anyone out there and they get the “shite” (as the Brit’s say) end of the deal!!

I have my kids and my wife to keep me going when i dont want to live anymore.

You've got to learn not to compare your ptsd to others. I have ptsd from a really bad childhood with extreme abuse but when I compare it to a guy like you who has been through hell, its nothing. A friend of mine has been through hell. Been tortured in his home country, saw his father get killed in front of him. But someone else his story doesnt make your experience less real. I hope you are doing good man, I know this sounds cheesy as fuck but time is all it takes. I thought id never feel good, I hated life and everyone in it. But this year has been different. I feel "normal" got back to work and studying, got rid of my addiction. Still dont have any social contacts but hey I dont feel as depressed anymore. I still have mad anxiety and hypervigilance but it will probably pass too. All you need is time and the right people. I wish you the best man.

PTSD is no joke. My uncle who fought in Vietnam as a minesweeper back in the day has been suffering from it way before they even knew what it was. He literally saw his friends blowing up in front of him on a regular basis.
He went on to struggle with pills and alcohol to try and ease the pain, but nothing ever worked. He still breaks down sometimes when he hears a helicopter fly by. God bless him though, he's still kicking at almost 80 years old.

Everyone hail people like this and loves that they're on your side, but few understand the horinous feelings those people feel for what they did. It's easy to think you want to kill your enemies when you don't have to do it. The problem is that most people that never had to cross that threshold, have no idea how hard it is for most people to deal with the fact that they killed someone, regardless of how justified killing those people was. This guy is great and I can't imagine his anguish but I'd like to shake his hand and show him how much I appreciate him. I'd also like to tell him that his conflicted / uneasy feelings shows God that he did not take a life without thought and he will receive entry into eternal peace.

Although justified any reason one takes another one's life it changes them forever. Whether you are a soldier, or a citizen with a madman breaking into your home. Even if you are a policeman. Taking someone's life in the line of duty should change you forever and it will and it does. It's always a red flag when it appears not to have changed in individual. God bless the soldier. And God bless my son who did four tours in the Middle East for the American army.

And what do they get in return from our government? Not nearly enough! Barely anything and our poor, brave Vietnam vets got spit on. My Dad was in 82nd airborne in WW11. He was captured and held for 18months until he and another soldier escaped. Anyway, you can imagine what he went through. They are all HEROES and deserve 100% of any and all benefits our country's have to offer. A good percentage of the homeless are Vets. There should be zero homeless before we open the floodgates to millions of illegal aliens. Sorry just my opinion. From an extremely proud daughter.✌❤
