  • In this video I test to see if you could use a gasoline powered inverter style generator to recharge Kress Commercial batteries while out in the field. The Kress Commercial Cyber System battery platform feature advanced technology and a proprietary battery chemistry allowing for very fast recharge times, so I see if using a gasoline powered inverter generator would be a plausible temporary solution to on board charging.

Let me know in the comments below if you would use a gas generator to recharge equipment batteries out in the field.

Lots of content coming on the Kress lineup, including long term honest reviews now that I have had the equipment since August last year and have tested it in all sorts of scenarios. Stay tuned. Thanks for watching and congratulations on your new Kress equipment.

Very good idea Julio. How many batteries do you have and what sizes for a regular mowing day? Thank you for this great idea.

I have 3 of the large 11Ah batteries like the one in the video, and 2 of the smaller 4Ah versions for the trimmer. For most days 2 batteries is fine for me mowing all day if I’m managing power level. Ie mowing on low power for most lawns. Same with the trimmer with 2 batteries. Usually use one and bit of the second. The biggest consumption times would be now in the spring with wet lush growth and in the fall for leaves when you want to use the mower on high power. Especially if I’m also using the backpack blower as well. That’s when it would be nice to charge while in the field. Currently I come home and put batteries on the charger as I deplete them so they’re ready for afternoon. I will be testing some other mobile charging options as well so stay tuned for that. Thanks for watching.

I suppose if you charge it as soon as as you finish the mow, plug in the battery then go trim and tidy up, then drive to the next property it should be fully charged

Yeah but you wouldn’t need to do it on every property because the batteries last a long time. You could do shorter top offs I suppose instead of waiting until it was completely dead. I will be testing different on board charging options this year. Obviously would make more sense to use a non gas powered option but this was more of a what if this was your only option to be able to adopt battery equipment into your business in the beginning. Thanks for watching.

Burn the push mower, purchase a 32 or 36 stander

I had a 32” stander. Barely used it. Way to heavy with skinny rear tires for here in the rainy pacific north west. In the dense city with small properties that I do, push mowers are profitable all day long and allow me to mow in the rain. Thanks for watching.
