Thanks for taking the time to do that. I've upgraded ram in many machines previously, and this one seems overly complicated with the number of screws you need to remove! But I can see I was on the right track. Yep, you literally pry it open. I was worried with the number of screws I removed that the motherboard would fall out as soon as I pried open the cover.

I was looking for more information on removing the fan as mine sounds like an airplane taking off most of the time. I noticed it gets extremely warm in the area of the fan.
What is the RAM on this? You gave the model numbers of the battery and hard drive, but not the RAM.
Hello. I m trying to proceed a clear cmos on this model to remove the bios passwd. I removed thé battery but it doesnt work. Can u help me ??? 👍

Have you checked that the connecteor is fully plugged in / connected? If thats ok you may need to replace the keyboard.
I found an old 1 of these its running ok with 8gb ram but needs more how would i tell if therres a slot spare like if its 2 4's or 1 8 is it ddr2?

hey i try this one there is no light or someting am going to technician he says board ic problem i dont understand and i dont trust him the ic fails to turn off all system?

+Martin Nilsson in theory you can replace the optical drive but you would need a mounting kit. Search ebay / amazon to see if such a kit exists for this model.
just making sure before I upgrade the cpu the cpu is under the heat sink

hmm was hoping for a complete tear down :) . I can't find any schematics for this motherboard... need to reset bios password! anyone know how? tried pulling batteries out including the motherboard one :s . need to locate the two points for jumping and wiping bios. tnx
What were the specs for the ram? you didn't hold it close to the camera to read them.
I believe the specs are DDR3L (1600Mhz) but double check with the memory already in your laptop as specs can differ between models.

No. It's under warranty still & going back to Toshiba.
+Gareth Price no worries. Just figured out how to replace it, had to unscrew motherboard to get to keyboard cable, all working now 👍

actually the warranty has expired by a few months. so, once opened did the motherboard unscrew tidy?

Unplug from the power and remove the BIOS battery for 5 - 10 minutes.
Doesn't work. I tried a couple of times but it keeps asking me for password. please assist me. Thank you

+Elyas Yaredoo Without seeing it it is hard to say. Try and remove the hard drive and memory and see if it turns on then.

dpcomputing I've the dash mark c But it came with an intel core i7 and my uncle put in an Asus GeForce graphic card with 45gb of ram
