The chorus and delay sound super great.I think the metal pedal is a one trick pony. It offers up what it does great, but only does that one one thing well. I hope we'll get more mini's from Ibanez in the future!

The combination of the three sounds like something straight out of Surfing With The Alien. Pretty awesome throwback sounds.

The Grunge pedal was made by DOD at the time (now by Digitech), with bass and treble labeled Butt and Face (respectively). They also made the Death Metal pedal with different, creative names for the controls (Guts, Blood, Scream, Pain, or something like that...). It was silly, but man, I miss the 90s...

A cool thing happened when I watched this, in deed very nice, demonstration. Just at 5:51, you play something briefly that instantly made me think of the song "One vision" by Queen. I thought: It would be nice to add the other two pedals and play that particular riff. So it felt really cool and sort of confirmative that Lee does just that at 18:27. Thanks for a nice demo and some good laughs! :)

No, man, Metal Zone sucks big time, but at least it is actually metal...you can play some Black Metal Burzum crap with it, or get some industrial metal tone.

Hey Rob.. Tell the Capt that he forgot to mention the lights on the pedals! Ibanez has made them much brighter on these small pedals as compared to the regular sized Ibanez pedals. Cheers and Heather Locklear FTW lol

I have that analog delay. It sounds gorgeous live. I'm still interested in that super metal pedal but need to try it out, I'm having second thoughts after their impression of it.
It depends, if you're looking for a pure 80s rock guitar feel, so far this is the closest I know.

Don't you feel the Chorus pedal a bit too bright ? Is it my ears ? I feel the Omicron mini chorus is warmer( saw ot on other videos !!!)....thanks for your answer :)
I'm agree with you guys, the "Super Metal" sounds like DOD American Metal or Hard Rock Distortion (FX57) or can compete with the traditional Boss DS-1. Very nice sound of your Chapman Guitar.

The original SM9 was great, 2 of the original Tube Screamer chips in it. It sounded great with gain low and eq knobs all boosted. I never liked it as a metal pedal, but excelled at a raunchy tone. I am interested in this new one, but I know it won;t sound anything like my original one.

I think the Cap 10 takes that metal petal way better than the Ibanez.
+MarkJohnsonMusic High output pickups sometimes do weird things to pedals, a lot of pedals (especially cheaper or mass produced ones) just don't have the headroom to deal with that loud of a signal being pushed into them. The overdrives and distortions get farty and gross, the modulation and delays get distorted and blurry.
@@TimothyPage06 this is 100% true in my experience as an EMG user. The pedals that do take the output usually sound incredible though...
guys seriously. if we're going to be able to judge a distortion pedal you need to plug it into a clean amp. you 'clean' sound, as usual, was anything but.
Might be a bit melodramatic, but how about a quick mini amp review? orange, fender, marshall, 3 watt. Maybe something similar or better for affordable price. BTW purchased the HT5 for home use(aprox. 1 yr ago) and i'm absolutely loving it. Very nice variety of tones.

my fav grunge pedal setting was the hole in the head setting that setting was really messy sounding but it cleaned up well if you used the mop control.
is it better for the tone to have the patch cables be a few millimeters from each pedal?
What pickups, including the SH4, is the captain using? It's sounds sooooo good!!! :)
Is it normal for a chorus pedal to drop the low end?
You can hear the same behavior of this pedal in other demos. It seems some other chorus pedals does not have this issue.

That metal pedal reminds me of the old little Peavey practice amps. Like DOO DOO!! The Chorus is nice though. Kinda traditional. I like the chorus Tone City has more.

I'm really not big on the Super Metal. As you guys said, it's raspy. I prefer something a lot punchier. it definitely has it's uses though.
I wonder if Ibanez will do a mini flanger after this. I bet a TON of people will buy that.

The Super Metal sounds more like High Gain Blues Based Hard Rock Guitar Hero, but that prolly won't fit on the case.
