First things first. Thank you for inspiring us. We’ve sold our house we bought a Lotus caravan. We built our car we’re going around Australia we don’t know where we’re going. We don’t know when we’re coming back. Thank you for everything
As a senior couple that sold up everything some years back and just chose the nomadic lifestyle your comments were spot on. It’s not for everyone but for anyone contemplating this life give it a crack. Not every day is perfect but the ones that are make up for it. Safe travels guys.
Yes, you are right. He is spot on. We sold up 12 months ago and don't miss anything. Saying that we are empty nesters. The kids have their own life now, own family, own household etc. So it is really only us. The freedom of not needing to feed any mortgages, not getting bills and be free to move on when we want is really an experience! It's all about what you need and what you want. Different considerations if you have kids/teenagers. Absolutely true!
I'm 72yo but I really like you guys and your channel .I really enjoy it. It is very real. I think we have visited most of the places you have shown. Missed out on the Whale sharks when in Exmouth/ Yardie Creek.etc. 😢 We've done 100,000klms plus in our caravan since I retired in 2013. I have and L200. That motor is way to go. Any love your work and the way your show lovely little family. Good luck to you guys. Thank you.
Couldn't agree more with your rant on living on the road, my wife and I lived out of backpacks for 8 months before we had kids and it was the simplest most fulfilling way to be
Thanks for sharing your wonderful journey with us. We have really enjoyed it and really appreciate being able to come along with you. All the best for whatever the future may hold!
Thank you STS for a fantastic holiday series. You are in my opinion the best family holiday RUclips channel by far. Good luck settling in at home. Look forward to seeing your travels in the future.
Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us all, it has been an absolute pleasure to watch each week. Defs going to miss you all. You have such a great honest vibe. 🙌
Awesome work on the series and you nailed the ending with the recap.... I won't lie it got me right in the feels as we anticipate the start of our journey and receiving our new van next week ❤️🙌 Been a pleasure following along your adventure and being able to add a few destinations to our dream trip.
Sooo enjoyed this guys. Pub search is exactly what would’ve happened to us lol Love the Allan “ thought walks” We are packing up 2024 in our Titanium caravan ( how we found you ) to travel aust for a year plus and then living in it full time. The why we live as we do rang home to us big time. As we have been binge watching your channel we constantly look to one another and agree …. This guy makes such sense. And the valuable input as to why and how in all you do Allan we say thank you 💯 Can’t wait for more guys. Megan and the girls we just love. What a beautiful real family 🙏🏻🙏🏻💯💯🥰🥰
Firstly, Great video guys... once again. Entertaining and a easy watch. The simple fact that it is a bit depressing heading home just means you've had a awsom time is how I look at it...😊👍 Wait till your at home and back to work... thats when the real depression sets in...😂😂😂
Thank you for the terrific, well produced videos, love the way you don't focus on one thing for too long unless its a panoramic or drone shots. Its great to see a perspective of your day, the locations you visited without it dragging on. The music is fantastic and perfectly placed. Its a credit to yourselves considering how much time and effort is required to produce them. My misso and I have watched many Australian youtube caravanning videos including all of your episodes. Yours are our favorite as we love the banter and the kids enjoying themselves. Great times and good laughs. Poor Megan getting frightened all the time but funny :) Our first episode was where Megan had a hangover at Kalbarri lol. After we viewed that we went back and viewed all the episodes! I like the episodes on your set up with the car and van also your maintenance tips. Sad to see the end of the episodes however we look forward to seeing more videos in the future when you get out and about. All the best
Thanks Guys for the most honest caravan family on RUclips. It’s been a pleasure to watch, follow and enjoy you 4 months, look forward to your next chapter/adventure
I will say this You 2 guys and your gorgeous daughters have been an inspiration and a total delight to discover and follow your travel’s and experiences I can only hope you decide to do another lap soon What you see is what you get and that is so refreshing and so bloody honest in this crazy world Would love to have had a 🎉beer with ya when in WA Excellent ❤
Really enjoyed watching your travels. This episode was one of my favourites, the way you put it together was excellent. Good luck with whatever your next instalment is. Thanks....
Thank you! You are so entertaining, keeping it real and light! It has been a highlight to tune into your travels each week. We pick up our van in March. Hope to a see you on our travels next year. #YOLO
Just found your channel tonight while checking out some caravan walk throughs, as we're buying a new van. We did one quick 3 week trip from Adelaide to Margaret River (definitely not long enough, but so glad we made the most of the time we had) and now have the bug to do some more. I was just agreeing with everything you were saying in this vid and loved your realistic view of travel. Will be going back to watch your whole trip 😃 See you out on the road 👍
We too just got back from six months on the road. We traveled similar places to what you showed. They are all amazing in there own way. I too had the same opinion on how long you need to see this wonderful country and agree with you one hundred percent. You could spend a lifetime travelling Australia and still not see everything! Oh I forgot. You would of drove through a town called Little Topar. That serves up the best pub meal ever!!
Thanks for the comments. Funny thing is we just drove all the way back out to nearly Cobar In the last few days (you will see why in the coming episodes) and we stayed at 2 cracking pubs 😂
Well done on your trip ! Your content is on point 1 of the best channels I have ever seen can't wait for your next trip ! PS how did you survive with a car load of girls for that long !! Thank God for beer !! LOL
Oh man...spewin it's come to an end. Thanks so much Kelly family for sharing your journey, it's has been so cool to see you every week, you made us feel like we were really there with you...and that's not an easy feat to achieve. Well done and thanks again, hopefully see you travelling again soon. 👏👏🤙
Adam & Megan, we thoroughly enjoyed the series, thanks so much for sharing your trip with us. We have not done a big trip like yours yet and therefore found the content very interesting, well filmed and very informative. We also have a Titanium caravan (18ft) and are planning a 2 month trip in May and June next year. We will be doing the Oodnadatta, Tanami and Gibb River tracks so I am interested to know if you would recommend any changes to the van before a big trip like yours. Thanks again. Regards Tony
Hey guys firstly love your videos and agree what time you have is what you have. I’m a truck driver for 41 years nearly 12 million ks and I’m going to see some of it in my caravan and many years ago I meet a couple that had been travelling for 22 years in the same caravan and showed me a map of where they had been. To add to this they where nearly 80 and told me they hadn’t seen Australia, you do what you can.
How first trip around Australia. We are one of the last vehicles to use the Nullarbor on the dirt before it was all big I was back in the 70s no campsite or toilet
Thanks for the Ride team ...Great to watch.. We hit the Road in January....No RUclips for me, to much like work hahahha. Teach myself and the family to fish maybe.
Well said the reality trap we all get caught in. my thoughts are exactly the same. Walk around your house and look at all the crap ya spent ya money on over the years. What will follow is a slap in the face. Have gone through the same thoughts and process and not far from either moving over seas (already own land) and or live on the road. Its just a case of having the balls to do it, and thats where most fall over. Still on the cards though. Great series and well done.
Really enjoyed your videos ,lovely down to earth family . We thought about selling the house etc,but always in the back of our minds was, what happens if something happens to one or the other & when you get too old to travel ,where are you going to live ! Consequently,we gave up caravanning ,but really miss it !
Thank you for not only sharing your travels with us, but for letting us into your beautiful family too. Certainly no shortage of personality amongst those girls either. So lovely to see happy smiling faces. Why didn't my girls ever hold hands and play nicely amongst themselves at the same age 🤔 You're a credit to them both. Looking forward to seeing the next instalment and to be part of your future adventures. Stay safe and safe travels.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful adventures. They are certainly inspiring and make us realise that we are all much the same I.e. getting bogged etc. You take it in your stride and truely enjoy life. Yes we will be getting out next year and joining you travelling this great land of ours. Thanks again from one 79 series dual cab and van owner owner to another. PS: naked on the Nullarbor does have a real sense of adventure about it. I might give it a go. 😂👍🍻👏
Hey guys love your vids content etc, love that you keep it real... hope to see more in the future when you can, your crew are sooooo cool and hope to bump into you in our travels. all the very best for the future. 🤙🏻🌞🏄🏽♂🍻🍷🌅
Congratulations. Was great to follow along on your trip with you. Glad we came across your channel. Look forwards to seeing what is next for you. We have all come home after a long trip and tried and come up with ways to make it happen more! Haha. Absolutely agree, “you only live once, get out there and enjoy it!! “ 👍
Totally agree with your rant But don’t take too much notice of all this sea level rising rubbish, insurance company’s are just using it as an excuse to put rates up Just ask any commercial skipper how much the sea has risen Small islands in the pacific are suffering erosion not rising sea levels I see the same lunch worked out well 😂😂😂 What a pity about the wind, you had the beach to yourself Another fantastic episode 🏆🏆
Have really enjoyed your trip, especially your camera work and your honest views and opinions. It’s great to not be flooded with bias views based on sponsorships (although I understand the attraction). Look forward to watching your up coming episodes and seeking what your up to. Again thanks for taking the time to share your awesome adventures.
Thankyou for taking us on your travels, Travel home safely, And remember you only live once so get out there and do it ! Well we are a 20++ years older and about to start our journey. Its a good motto to follow. Cheers STS 😄
We have truly enjoyed watching your holiday series. Can't wait to see what you have planned next....We didn't realise you were at Perlubie Beach at the same time as us until we saw you driving out!
A few years back I sold my house and now live in my caravan full time based in New Zealand. I still work full time and I certainly don't miss dealing with councils. I'm interested in your fuel usage, as on a recent trip I got just over 5kms per litre towing with my 79 series.
Awesome Adventure, Great Memories Created, Thanks for sharing your Journey with Us, I just bought a little 13ft Coromal and out Camping in it for the first time this weekend. Bit excited. Take care All xo
So true mate, we did it in our 20s and when we are in our 40s and in our 50s we never had the fancy van or four-wheel-drive like that but we did see the crap at campsite around the country. It hasn’t change much 30 years in the last time we did it Now it’s 77 but you must have a bass to go back to like we had when you get older you’re gonna have somewhere to go when you’re finished travelling because your health goes down hill, I’ve had to knee replacements and a hip. You can’t do that. We are travelling at older ages.
Hope you guys can return to WA and generally keep traveling as you have been awesome to watch . Your natural and informative and entertaining. Look fwd to you getting back on the road after you get home but until you do I’m a watchin ya with great interest . Thanks 🙏 for the great series and take care 😎
I've enjoyed following your adventures as it has given me lots of wonderful places to add to my own future trips. Looking forward to seeing where you travel to next. 🙂
Fantastic episode folks. Have enjoyed yr travels. My son and his family will be doing something similar next year and he has been watching also. Look forward to yr future episodes.
Keep up the good work, I have really enjoyed your travel Vlogs, I can agree after 10 years and 155,000 klm, 8 trips across the Nullarbor of Caravan travel that there is a lot more to see, I look forward to your next episodes, all the best. Tony, Perth WA
Absolutely loved this one, thank you for being so raw and honest. All the feels that come from the last few weeks of travelling. We did 6 months in Wa last year and your trip took us back to some of those places and it was great! Thank you. Can’t wait to hear more about what’s next for you all. Take care go gentle on yourself as you adjust back to norm! Mind you norm never looks the same again 😅
Hi Allan, Megan and kids, Thanks for taking us on your travels, it certainly is a privilege to be part of your journey. You guys certainly love Australia, you have a passion for the place....good to see. Allan my wife and l are making a trip to and around Darwin next year. We would love your tips and comments on places to stay and not to stay along the way. We live just outside Brizzy. Basically from Mt lsa onwards, we're familiar with all the other places before Mt lsa. Thanks again for your video's, Merry Christmas to you all, and all the best for the New Year.
Thanks for sharing your families experiences on the trip. It has been fantastic to revisit some of our past trip destinations and look forward to getting into more of our fabulous country. Hope to catch up on the road at some time and have a great chat over a few beers and wines.
as far as using oil goes i used to be adding oil at 5 thousand kls until i was told about synthetic oils and the car uses no oil between oil changes that i do once a year. 25 klms plus per year
Great vid guys! Love the idea of art on the Nullarbor or anywhere you travel actually - but just do not get caught if your a bit shy! 😂 Your rant was 💯% accurate - just some pigs out there that do not give a damn about the environment! Now, your thoughts on living in the burbs is totally correct for some of us that actually question life. I am now 62 and this has been my question for 29 years, but because of kids was not willing to do anything but keep riding the merry-go - round of life and the debt we create. However in last 6 months sold my share in a business and literally selling up our couple of properties and planning to give our 3 kids a chunk each to get them sorted and then we will become nomadic for 3 months at a time and then go back to our base for a month … jump on a plane each year to visit friends and basically enjoy the fruits of working since 18 and same goes for my wife! Keep on trucking and sure you will keep up travel but maybe during school hols!
👏🏻👏🏻congratulations it was great to watch not only the pre trip thoughts and processing through to following your trip. Well done Interesting on the house/caravan thing . Friends have done that sold everything and have a van but have also got a permanent on-site van down at Port fairy, which they use in the Dec/Jan months then head off again. Have you bought a pub in Peterborough and Megan is going to do meals 😂😂 🤙🏻
Have enjoyed your journey immensely, you do a great job with your content, love the way you pair bounce off each other as well, again congrats on a great series and look forward to your future content. Cheers🍻
Sorry it has come to an end, but Thanks guys it has been really nice watching your channel👌, not like some channels out there (trying to be influencers☹️) Look forward for what’s next and hopefully we might see you on the road sometime 🤙
Cheers guys for bringing your travels and your awesome little family to our loungeroom every week. We have really enjoyed watching all the episodes of your travels. Your body language on this episode is exactly me when we are heading back to reality, so you definitely not alone there fella. Oh btw I believe you forgot to add one last photo😉 Cheers ay
I'm 💯 % with you on owning a home vs full time caravan life.. I am currently saving for a Y62 haven't decided on a van yet, but want off grid and free camp as much as possible. As you said surely it's a smaller footprint and cheaper lifestyle.. we all have a car anyway so that isn't a cost.. it's the van rego insurance etc.. way cheaper than a mortgage
Thank you so much guys! Like I've said before, you have such a good vibe going on! Taking the time and effort to make these wonderful episodes, really enjoyed it. Can't wait to start our lap next year. Greetings from the Netherlands.. 🤙🏼
Hey mate another great vid, just wondering have you rust proofed under the 79 of any kind and if not how is it hold up after your trips not just for rust but generally Cheers brent
Hi Brent, no rust protection mate I just wash it down after being on the beach, generally it held up well. Next few episodes covers getting home, the ute and the van washing and fixing a few things.
We oldies have thoroughly enjoyed your travels . Thank you for taking us along for the ride and look forward to whatever is it you choose to do next . WA is our home state and we have spent many months travelling this wonderful country over many , many years . Take care ,safe travels and exploits to where ever or what ever you do next .
First things first. Thank you for inspiring us. We’ve sold our house we bought a Lotus caravan. We built our car we’re going around Australia we don’t know where we’re going. We don’t know when we’re coming back. Thank you for everything
So glad to be a part of your journey, you won’t regret it.

Totally agree with your rant

I see the same lunch worked out well 😂😂😂
What a pity about the wind, you had the beach to yourself
Another fantastic episode 🏆🏆
Thanks for tuning in mark, appreciate the support.
Thanks guys really appreciate the comments. heaps coming up
Another fantastic episode guy’s I’ve enjoyed every moment with you’s 👍

Thankyou for taking us on your travels, Travel home safely, And remember you only live once so get out there and do it ! Well we are a 20++ years older and about to start our journey. Its a good motto to follow. Cheers STS 😄
Thanks rob, enjoy your travels
We have truly enjoyed watching your holiday series. Can't wait to see what you have planned next....We didn't realise you were at Perlubie Beach at the same time as us until we saw you driving out!
Cheers guys safe travels
Like your thoughts, I got too much stuff I don’t need,
We all do Phil. Thanks for watching
the nomatic life style is not for everyone because who would do the service and all the things we go up town for.
A few years back I sold my house and now live in my caravan full time based in New Zealand. I still work full time and
I certainly don't miss dealing with councils. I'm interested in your fuel usage, as on a recent trip I got just over 5kms per litre towing with my 79 series.
Hi Ryan, thanks for watching. We averaged about 24l per hundred
Awesome Adventure, Great Memories Created, Thanks for sharing your Journey with Us,
I just bought a little 13ft Coromal and out Camping in it for the first time this weekend. Bit excited.
Take care All xo
Enjoy guys
So true mate, we did it in our 20s and when we are in our 40s and in our 50s we never had the fancy van or four-wheel-drive like that but we did see the crap at campsite around the country. It hasn’t change much 30 years in the last time we did it Now it’s 77 but you must have a bass to go back to like we had when you get older you’re gonna have somewhere to go when you’re finished travelling because your health goes down hill, I’ve had to knee replacements and a hip. You can’t do that. We are travelling at older ages.
Fantastic episode sorry your journey has ended but I’m sure you will go again .can’t wait to see what you do next your a big thinker .
Hope you guys can return to WA and generally keep traveling as you have been awesome to watch . Your natural and informative and entertaining. Look fwd to you getting back on the road after you get home but until you do I’m a watchin ya with great interest . Thanks 🙏 for the great series and take care 😎
Thanks for the kind words Darline, the next chapter for STS is well under way as we speak.
Thanks for watching Bob
Keep up the good work, I have really enjoyed your travel Vlogs, I can agree after 10 years and 155,000 klm, 8 trips across the Nullarbor of Caravan travel that there is a lot more to see, I look forward to your next episodes, all the best. Tony, Perth WA
Thanks Tony.
So true. Thanks for watching.
Hi Allan, Megan and kids,
Thanks for taking us on your travels, it certainly is a privilege to be part of your journey.
Thanks for coming along for the ride Terry, and yes we might to a wrap up of the whole trip covering that topic.
Thanks for sharing your families experiences on the trip. It has been fantastic to revisit some of our past trip destinations and look forward to getting into more of our fabulous country. Hope to catch up on the road at some time and have a great chat over a few beers and wines.
Always happy for a beer and a chat 👍🏼
@@SmartTouringSystems I did get that slight impression from your travels.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
as far as using oil goes i used to be adding oil at 5 thousand kls until i was told about synthetic oils and the car uses no oil between oil changes that i do once a year. 25 klms plus per year
Great vid guys!
Love the idea of art on the Nullarbor or anywhere you travel actually - but just do not get caught if your a bit shy! 😂
Your rant was 💯% accurate - just some pigs out there that do not give a damn about the environment!
Thanks for taking the time to write, happy travels
👏🏻👏🏻congratulations it was great to watch not only the pre trip thoughts and processing through to following your trip. Well done
Interesting on the house/caravan thing . Friends have done that sold everything and have a van but have also got a permanent on-site van down at Port fairy, which they use in the Dec/Jan months then head off again. Have you bought a pub in Peterborough and Megan is going to do meals 😂😂 🤙🏻
Would not be a good idea for us to own a pub 😂
Have enjoyed your journey immensely, you do a great job with your content, love the way you pair bounce off each other as well, again congrats on a great series and look forward to your future content. Cheers🍻
Thanks Jeff. Sometimes we bounce other times we crash 😂, but yes we are lucky to have what we have. Thanks for watching.
Sorry it has come to an end, but Thanks guys it has been really nice watching your channel👌, not like some channels out there (trying to be influencers☹️)
Look forward for what’s next and hopefully we might see you on the road sometime 🤙
Thanks Andre, yes we try to be raw without losing all privacy 😂 glad you enjoyed, happy travels.
Cheers guys for bringing your travels and your awesome little family to our loungeroom every week. We have really enjoyed watching all the episodes of your travels.
Your body language on this episode is exactly me when we are heading back to reality, so you definitely not alone there fella.
Oh btw I believe you forgot to add one last photo😉
Cheers ay
Thanks so much and that last photo might come in handy at either Megan’s 40th or willows 18th 😂
Yeah makes you wonder sometimes
just found your channel as you finish up your trip, whats the music you use from around 34.24?
Have a good look at the video. I'm going to give you a gift. 🎁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Sorry but can you explain your comment.
Thank you so much guys! Like I've said before, you have such a good vibe going on! Taking the time and effort to make these wonderful episodes, really enjoyed it. Can't wait to start our lap next year. Greetings from the Netherlands.. 🤙🏼
Thanks for the comment and happy travels
Hey mate another great vid, just wondering have you rust proofed under the 79 of any kind and if not how is it hold up after your trips not just for rust but generally
Cheers brent
Hi Brent, no rust protection mate I just wash it down after being on the beach, generally it held up well. Next few episodes covers getting home, the ute and the van washing and fixing a few things.
Thanks for taking us along on your journey. The cliffs were spectacular! So you aren’t going to share the all natural distance shots? 😂
😂
😂 not that kind of channel.
@@SmartTouringSystems if it was, it wouldn’t be on RUclips 😇
We oldies have thoroughly enjoyed your travels . Thank you for taking us along for the ride and look forward to whatever is it you choose to do next . WA is our home state and we have spent many months travelling this wonderful country over many , many years . Take care ,safe travels and exploits to where ever or what ever you do next .
