The XS/Max are *expensive* iPhones, which creates the illusion that the iPhone XR is “cheaper,” but it’s really only cheaper in comparison to those iPhones. In reality, outside of widely known psychological marketing techniques, the XR is just a normal-priced iPhone. In fact, basically everything about the XR is just “normal iPhone.” It is, for all intents and purposes, the 8S.
I currently own the iPhone 6, but have been dying to buy a new phone for ages.. thanks to this video, I've just purchased the black iPhone XR! update: I took the XR on a day trip to Amsterdam from London... my battery lasted from 4am - 10:30pm and I was using my camera, maps, and Instagram. The battery life is no joke - and the camera is BEAUTIFUL. Best purchase of 2018.
megan I love it! The camera and battery life are my favourite things about it and I’m comfortable with the larger size now, compared to my 6. I did notice the difference in the screen though because I watch a lot of RUclips but it doesn’t bother me - I think that’s the only thing that I would say to consider. But otherwise, it’s a great phone and I recommend it!
My mate has always had Samsung phones, he last had an s7. He has now got the XR and is adamant he won’t return to Samsung. I also have the XR and believe it is brilliant, I will admit I am kinda an Apple fan boy but not biased. I still think that Samsung make brilliant phones and would recommend to people however I generally prefer the ease of IOS and wouldn’t choose android over it. I don’t see the reason why Apple vs Android is such a big thing, just get what you prefer. Simple!

louise cuadsen Only thing I’ll say about the XR is it has the same issue as the 2018 iPad Pro. Leaving the Bluetooth on without any active connections slows the device down a bit.
Ball_bruh x I like the notch. It’s unique, and more importantly, 100% functional. Leave it to Apple to implement tech in a way that elevates the game. They are not always first, but when they do something, the implementation is the best.
Falcon X after using the XR for the last several weeks, I can tell you, you don’t notice the bezels. Several friends have seen my phone and don’t know what model of X it is.

My wife just got a Xr 128Gb and I am blown away by the photos it takes. I was pretty content with my 7Plus photos until I had seen how good the XR performs.
I don't even use iOS, but I'm glad iOS users are getting this device as a (relatively) cheaper option to the iPhone XS. I'll probably stick with Android, but I hope you guys who buy it enjoy it! I like the blue one especially ^^

As someone who happily owns an S9 and is unlikely to get an iPhone XR, I'd say we need more phones like these with really eye popping color options. Sure not every color is gonna sell well but at least there's the option instead of just the usual black and white which grow stale fast.

Some of these comments are a bit shortsighted. Just because a lowered priced Android phone has a 1080p+ display does not make it an overall good phone. A display is just ONE aspect when considering the features. There’s hardware AND software, which both need to work together to improve the UX. Also, this “conspiracy” that Apple only made the XR so people would buy the XS or XS MAX doesn’t make logical sense. Think about it, why would Apple spend money making a phone that they don’t intend anyone to buy when they could just offer the more premium model instead?! And sometimes people by iPhone simply because they enjoy using iOS. So suggesting that they go with an Android-powered phone instead isn’t a viable option. XR isn’t a “budget” phone nor is it a “budget iPhone.” Apple has never stated that. As far as price is concerned, well that’s subjective. iPhones have never been cheap devices to begin with and there’s a lot that’s factored into the price outside of parts cost. Apple still innovates, but just because it’s not on a superficial level, doesn’t mean those innovations don’t exist. The fact that they’re able to curve an LCD display to avoid having a chin is quite impressive (that may also be a reason why there’s no 3D Touch in the display). FaceID is so secure that outside of just unlocked the phone, financial/credit institutions approve its use in validating transactions. And let’s not forget that the A12 Bionic SOC is 7nm in size and can still outperform it’s competition.

iPhone 4 in 2010 was destroying competition. This phone had the best screen, processor etc. that's why those days it was worth that price. But in 2018 this phone has NOT even FullHD. Competition had FullHD in 2013 (for example Galaxy s4). This phone it's not worth over 700$. This is shame for apple.

iPhone XR.. whether you want to admit it or not, this is the phone meant for the masses. Meant for everybody outside of the tech community, and outside of any sort of discussion. Sub-1080p can be a deal breaker, LCD instead of AMOLED is a big different, the bezels can be distracting and the price isnt even close to it's "budget" stance it's supposed to go for, but it's an amazing phone at a competitive price, with the best processor in the mobile market, one of the best cameras and the design that inspired many of the other Androids to take notes. As a One plus 6 user, it's going to be one of the best selling phones Apple has had in years, since the 6 for sure

Rennie Ash Yeah, Samsung likes to boast with numbers but when it comes to real life, it doesn’t matter. Like the 1440 screen! It’s turned off by default and Zone Of Tech didn’t even noticed it during his battery drain test until it was too late... same battery capacity. So what that it has 4K mAh. I care about how long will it last for me... I also care more about chip efficiency and even coding format for video and photo. Having both .DNG and HEVEC is a must for me now. But average people, who want to seem techy only care about bigger numbers, sadly. Samsung must be better, cause it have more RAM and more mAh...

I upgraded from a iPhone 6 to an iPhone XR and I never had an X series. But I do recommend this phone is for beginners to get to know about the X series. This phone is beautiful! I have the white.
@@TLD why would you compare an iPhone 4 3.5" display in (2010) to the iPhone XR. Which no one is using in 2018. The iPhone SE has a 4" display with a resolution of 1136x640. The resolution, playing a down scales 1080p video is definitely not the same as playing a native 1080p video or movie. At the end of the day you are clearly paid for this especially at 5:50 when you said you cannot talk about some certain things, and you received the XR package from Apple themselves. If you would only give an unbiased review of any smartphone you review.

The fact that iphone xr has a 128gb variant instead of the standard 64gb and 256gb explains alot about apple's business strategy. Clearly they were banking more on this phone than the other two releases. I will even go on to say that this was actually apple's true flagship, with the xs and xs max being like the premium model like the porsche version for huawei mate 20 pro.

i’ve had my coral xr for 2 days now... i’ve been super happy with it and it’s such an amazing phone with a great price. the coral is so much better looking in person and natural light. the display is honestly really good. the size is really nice. going from an iphone SE to xr, everything is really nice. haptic touch is really nice. the battery is insane and i’ll be on it for a really long time (16 hours) and it’ll only be at 35% without charging it or be on low power mode

It's a really good deal for people who want the latest phone (same processor as iPhone XS), and who want a deal. The LCD screen for the XR the will probably outlast the OLED screen of the XS, because the OLED is brighter and I would assume would lose its luminosity over time.
Karlton est that’s what I thing. OLED lifespan is 5 years max and LCD is about 10 (I still have my iPhone 4 ready for screen comparison with iPhone XR, so feel free to subscribe if you are interested ;) )

Just because a lowered priced Android phone has a 1080p+ display does not make it an overall good phone. A display is just ONE aspect when considering the features. There’s hardware AND software, which both need to work together to improve the UX.
Also, this “conspiracy” that Apple only made the XR so people would buy the XS or XS MAX doesn’t make logical sense. Think about it, why would Apple spend money making a phone that they don’t intend anyone to buy when they could just offer the more premium model instead?!
And sometimes people by iPhone simply because they enjoy using iOS. So suggesting that they go with an Android-powered phone instead isn’t a viable option.
XR isn’t a “budget” phone nor is it a “budget iPhone.” Apple has never stated that. As far as price is concerned, well that’s subjective. iPhones have never been cheap devices to begin with and there’s a lot that’s factored into the price outside of parts cost.
Apple still innovates, but just because it’s not on a superficial level, doesn’t mean those innovations don’t exist. The fact that they’re able to curve an LCD display to avoid having a chin is quite impressive (that may also be a reason why there’s no 3D Touch in the display). FaceID is so secure that outside of just unlocked the phone, financial/credit institutions approve its use in validating transactions. And let’s not forget that the A12 Bionic SOC is 7nm in size and can still outperform it’s competition.

iPhone 4 in 2010 was destroying competition. This phone had the best screen, processor etc. that's why those days it was worth that price. But in 2018 this phone has NOT even FullHD. Competition had FullHD in 2013 (for example Galaxy s4). This phone it's not worth over 700$. This is shame for apple.

iPhone XR.. whether you want to admit it or not, this is the phone meant for the masses. Meant for everybody outside of the tech community, and outside of any sort of discussion. Sub-1080p can be a deal breaker, LCD instead of AMOLED is a big different, the bezels can be distracting and the price isnt even close to it's "budget" stance it's supposed to go for, but it's an amazing phone at a competitive price, with the best processor in the mobile market, one of the best cameras and the design that inspired many of the other Androids to take notes. As a One plus 6 user, it's going to be one of the best selling phones Apple has had in years, since the 6 for sure

Rennie Ash Yeah, Samsung likes to boast with numbers but when it comes to real life, it doesn’t matter. Like the 1440 screen! It’s turned off by default and Zone Of Tech didn’t even noticed it during his battery drain test until it was too late... same battery capacity. So what that it has 4K mAh. I care about how long will it last for me... I also care more about chip efficiency and even coding format for video and photo. Having both .DNG and HEVEC is a must for me now. But average people, who want to seem techy only care about bigger numbers, sadly. Samsung must be better, cause it have more RAM and more mAh...

@@TLD why would you compare an iPhone 4 3.5" display in (2010) to the iPhone XR. Which no one is using in 2018. The iPhone SE has a 4" display with a resolution of 1136x640. The resolution, playing a down scales 1080p video is definitely not the same as playing a native 1080p video or movie.
At the end of the day you are clearly paid for this especially at 5:50 when you said you cannot talk about some certain things, and you received the XR package from Apple themselves. If you would only give an unbiased review of any smartphone you review.

Pretty cool, after noticing it's slower than a $300 plastic Android phone.
The fact that iphone xr has a 128gb variant instead of the standard 64gb and 256gb explains alot about apple's business strategy. Clearly they were banking more on this phone than the other two releases. I will even go on to say that this was actually apple's true flagship, with the xs and xs max being like the premium model like the porsche version for huawei mate 20 pro.

i’ve had my coral xr for 2 days now... i’ve been super happy with it and it’s such an amazing phone with a great price. the coral is so much better looking in person and natural light. the display is honestly really good. the size is really nice. going from an iphone SE to xr, everything is really nice. haptic touch is really nice. the battery is insane and i’ll be on it for a really long time (16 hours) and it’ll only be at 35% without charging it or be on low power mode

It's a really good deal for people who want the latest phone (same processor as iPhone XS), and who want a deal. The LCD screen for the XR the will probably outlast the OLED screen of the XS, because the OLED is brighter and I would assume would lose its luminosity over time.
Karlton est that’s what I thing. OLED lifespan is 5 years max and LCD is about 10 (I still have my iPhone 4 ready for screen comparison with iPhone XR, so feel free to subscribe if you are interested ;) )
