love the podcast i continue to watch each episode. also thanks for being positive on the qb situation and not saying the season is over like many other media people and fans are dooming and glooming
We're stuck on a wheel. Everything just stays the same. Wash, rinse. repeat. No playoff win for 24 fricken years. There's simply no excuse for the ineptness.
Skylar has the arm talent. He lacks the processing ability to see the throws before it’s too late to be making them. Physical ability is not what holds Skylar back. His physical ability is the reason he was drafted ahead of Brock Purdy. His processing ability is why it was still in the 7th round, not sooner.
@@HawgWyldFishing I agree. But also take into account he gets no repetitions with the 1st team … When he did get time to actually practice with the one’s Skylar played well in a playoff game
Kenny Stills dropped a perfect pass from Tanehill that day. He was wide open! Would have win the game for us. I’m still not over that lol. As far as this Sunday. We gonna win 27-24
I feel for Skylar Thompson. He is getting treated, like he is not wanted, and now, it all rests on him. Coach McDaniel better start coaching and adjusting like he never has. Earn that new contract, Coach. Don't leave your player, out there to dry. You better run heavy and use the Oline road graders. Quit being so cute with the play calling. While I think the Fins will lose, don't get destroyed like you did with the Bills.
Look I love my Phins and like Tua but we need to draft a QB first round next year , if Tua is healthy then the youngin can learn and develop and if Tua isnt we have a successor , Skylar in meantime will be fine I see us going 3-1 over the stretch . I had grade 3 concussion from motorbike accident last year and scared the shit out of me , I have a kid to think of I hope Tua thinks the same
Did he swat the ball up by not turning and looking for the pass before it hit him? Because that’s exactly what the receiver did. Did Tua run the wrong route? His receiver did. The 3rd one was all on Tua. But the other 2 had nothing to do with the QB that threw them. He can’t go out there and run the routes for the guys or chase them down field and just hand them the ball that way.
Not true. The first one was thrown a little behind the receiver and the second one was way overthrown. Even McDaniel said the first one was not placed in front of the receiver.
We're gonna find out alot about this team the next 2 weeks. If they come to play with high effort and heart. They'll be fine. If they get come out flat, then they starts hanging their heads, making mistakes, then forget about the rest of the year. It's their mentality for me. I can live with losing a hard fought game where guys give it their all, but I can't support a team that doesn't bring the energy, gets frustrated, beats themselves, and gets blown out. If Skylar can communicate, and not force the issue, he'll be fine. If we rack up a bunch of penalties, we turn the ball over and we don't make any field flipping plays on defense or special teams, then it could get out of hand. Seattle's oline isn't playing very good and Geno will make mistakes if we can rattle him early. Fast start would go a long way.
It may be unlikely the fins win in Seattle but its not impossible. And lets be honest everybody was predicting a loss because Seattle is so hard to play on the road. The fins still have Tyreek and Waddle and lots of other weapons, so they do have a chance is everything goes right.
Both Stafford and Goff were traded from each other’s teams. One went to a team loaded with a good OLine, won a Super Bowl. The other went to a team that’s built one of the best OLines in the league and has been to the playoffs. You think trading for Stafford and putting him behind this OLine is breed success? Good grief people, there’s the obvious pattern of the OLine in all consistent winning teams but some of y’all attribute that to the QB. This discourse is exhausting and obvious.
The Rams did not have a good oline when they won the Super Bowl. They were ok, not good. Whitworth was their best olineman and he was 40 years old. The Lions have an elite oline
I thought it was terrible play calling when they should’ve known instantly Tua was about to be shut down. The play calling when Skyler came in the game was obvious. They stacked the box and they still ran the ball. They should’ve thrown on first down.
It’s definitely not the same defense. It’s the same in terms of running and hitting and generally playing fast, but the scheme itself is completely different from what Pete Carroll was running lmao
I wonder when the local media is going to admit that Tua does not have the talent commensurate with being paid like a franchise qb. At some point they will have to admit it, but everyone is a coward at the moment.
I don't think Skylar should be thought of as a mystery either. We know he's not great and perhaps it's okay that our expectations start there and then be surprised if things go well
@alldolphinspodcast how do we assume he's going to be good enough with that same thinking? It's all trust. I hope he does well regardless. Love the podcast always
I'm a Skylar fan. I personally never liked Tua. I am so frustrated that we dance around and pad our stats against losing teams and get killed against above .500 teams. Let alone win a playoff game. This sounds strange but I am happy to watch the Dolphins with Skylar. We stuck with Tannahill for an agonizing 7 years or so and I'm not happy with Tua now. Again, Tua can't beat good teams, let alone great teams, so is Skylar a very big downgrade?
The Poup jinx strikes again!..."there are no injuries on defense"...Vegas says we should be 3-1 at end of this stretch but I wouldn't bet on it...Skyler shouldn't be the reason we lose...We were trash before Tua went out...the team's been literally trash for 6 halves...if we play the same we'll lose
Big picture is we suck! People are dreaming if they think we go 2-2 or better for the next 4 games. O Line stinks, play calling is not good. QB play is horrible and the Defence is in a new scheme. The team is soft mentality and physically. Being a fan for 35 years it's ridiculous we haven't won a playoff game for 24 years and championship for over 50 years!!! Talking about being honest the NFL is won in the trenches which we have no chance
Here’s the problem . They were playing like dog S--T before Tua got hurt ! I’m sorry but this country club soft approach to training camp is the problem! Look at how many injuries we are sustaining through out the roster . News flash to Mike McDaniel it doesn’t work ! Borrower a page from Shula , Parcel , Bellichick ( spelling I know ) Saban etc . What did they all have in common ? They were all hard A- coaches they guess what they were always competitive!
bottom line Grier and McD have not wanted a very capable or proven backup QB so thier philosophy is going to be completely determined and or exposed in the next 3 weeks...
Unfortunately, Skylar is as dumb as Tua and neither can read defenses so 34-17 Seattle. Fins need to draft a QB, period. Stafford would get this team into the playoffs yes, but it would be an early exit. Tua definitely wouldn't get them into the playoffs this year since he can only beat the absolute worst teams and this season Fins play plenty of scrub teams but not nearly as crappy as last season. Jets will destroy the Fins unlike like last season just as one example.
Great seeing you 2 together thank for the show ❤ I lost my hope with the dolphins been a fan for 60 years 🙏
Me too been rooting for them since 1970 😢they always disappoint
Lets go Poup!! You should do more live pod casts on here! Enjoy interacting with you and the guests! keep up the great work!
Alright! it's Dave The man Hyde. Love this pod of dolphins.
Nice job guys. Thanks!
I shouldn’t get as excited the way I do when I see Dave Hyde on the podcast…😬🤷🏽♂️
Great breakdown as usual guys! Hopefully Skylar and the defense can rise to the occasion.
you're warming up to me Alain, nice show

My guy Dave Hyde💯
Tua when he returns.. is one more concussion away from retirement. Our Phins better plan for that. If they don’t..fire the GM
Everyone in the nfl is.
The disrespect in this show lol, y'all gonna learn a few things about both teams on Sunday now
good one
The running game and solid defense will play a big role in our win this Sunday. Also Sky to Eazy E is no joke…the work well together.
Run first ,don't be afraid to punt or kick field goals. Don't put yourself in LONG DOWNsand we got shoot to win
So tua was at Disney on ice with teammates 24 hrs after the concussion must have recovered fast
Here we go, the drop off is enormous!
Dave Hyde could play a perfect Clark Kent .he’s very good sports writer no doubt
OMAR KELLY & TUANON GOING TO HATE THIS EPISODE LOL 😂 …. BUT I LOVE IT !!! ALL FACTS, SKYLAR CAN MAKE THE SAME THROWS 🐬🐬🐬🆙

Skylar has physical ability. Physical ability at the QB position is almost never going to be a deciding factor in winning games.
Kenny Stills dropped a perfect pass from Tanehill that day. He was wide open! Would have win the game for us. I’m still not over that lol. As far as this Sunday. We gonna win 27-24

Where do you Tua haters come up with this crap?
Tua beat QB sinse Marino he deserves it ..tua coming back find another team buddy
Tua should have never been drafted by the Dolphins. Tua could not stay healthy in college.
Dude DH and AP definitely keep it real.
I think everyone has a bad feeling that this could be like a 7-10 season.....
You must not follow the guys who are in the video above
Great point about Seattle only facing Bo nix and Jacoby. Skyler better than both. I feel
29th ranked offense in the nfl. giants and broncos are above us.
fire mcdaniel.
Last year the Jets demonstrated the potential consequences of rolling with an inadequate backup QB.
@@zenman1001 If Skylar Thompson is at that level, then the Dolphins failed BADLY in the offseason.
@@alldolphinspodcast Agreed, let's hope Skylar can quiet all the naysayers with this opportunity.
NFL has shifted to prevent the big play.

Skylar has not shown anything since his first year to make one think he is up for this. Hope I am wrong.
