Shelly (Roche), Cassidy's mama, is an inspiration. Dedicated, committed, loving, caring, knowledgeable, talented and an angel from heaven for rescued cats and kittens, through her organization, TinyKittens.
My rescue cat lost one of his back leg and I don't know how he survived before the rescue because when I found him, the wound is already closed and clean. He meowed at everyone walked in the sidewalk and follow them, but no one pick him up. When I'm close enough, he's just meowing at me and then sat on my feet, like begging me to stop and picked him up. I finally called my mom and asking permission to brought him home (my parents were hesitant because we're still mourning our last cat and still unsure if we can adopt a new one), but after they see him, they warmed up to him immediately. He's one year old now and my main inspiration when I get stuck in life. Now I see Cassidy lost both his back leg and survive that long in wilderness and still going so strong! Cats' will to survive is so inspiring! I hope he will live a fun-filled long years with Shelly!
When I was a lad we had a male tabby who disappeared for several days, then came back missing a back leg at the joint. My sister took him to the vet to get healed up; we never found the bastich that hurt him. Once he healed, he adapted quite nicely. He lost his back left leg, and when he wanted a scratch behind his left ear, he would walk (yes, he developed a fairly quick three-legged walk) up to us, look us in the eye, then waggle his stump as if he were scratching his ear. And, _man_ could that sucker run when he wanted to!! :) It was something to watch.

Shelly, I didn’t know you brought Miracle Kitten to NC State Vet School!! They are WONDERFUL. They saved the life of my dog baby Violet and gave her 3 more years than we would have had, gave me an extra 9 months with dog baby Ellie and during the pandemic made sure I could be with my Ellie when it was her time to cross the rainbow bridge. There are no smarter and kinder people in the WORLD.
The amount of effort Shelly puts into the kitty to help him walk is so admirable! Thank God that there are people like Shelly! And the kitty has a such beautiful face!
There's a cat Anakin, (he's on fb and here too I think) who was also born feral but without any back legs or a pelvis. He's just turned four and manages amazingly on just his front legs having learned to tip his weight forward for balance and no doubt those front legs are now very strong.
cant stop weeping and smiling. awesome. there is hope and brightness when it is woven with unrelenting , unbreaking, , guts deep , shining courage , commitment, fortitude, positivity, selfless giving, heart of hearts investment in what we all know , deep down,is right and worth fighting for. caring for the most innocent and least protected teaches us everything we need to know about being human .

i still cry remembering the pain he went thru ,the worrying if he was going to pull thru from his fevers ,it was so bad .I stayed up night s worrying and wandering and thank God he pulled thru like a champ without Shelly and his determination to live he wouldnt be here today..This is why hes my favorite cat forever theres none that can compare to him ..He deserves a medal for Life..Love ya Cass always and forever..
ahh..I bet the manufacturers of the robot cleaner never thought an emergent property of it would be as a disabled cat transport :). Such a great Kitty!...thanks for the video and feel-good moment :)
And that was the best reminder ever about why one should never give up on these felines... Thank you for all you do Shelly, and thank you Casserole - for having such a strong will to live and teaching us all a little something about life and the pursuit to live.
He persevered through severe malnutrition, was half the weight he should have been (so much more shocking when one looks at the picture of him curled up on top of his brother, who was about 3/4 the weight he should have been, himself!), too sick for his little body to muster a fever to fight the infection of open wounds, dragging himself on the forest floor, for 9 weeks... His Puffiness was stubborn, and Shelly recognized that he deserved a chance after making it that far... even when the emergency vet was recommending euthanasia. I have never seen a story of another kitten like him, who managed to survive for 2 MONTHS while so severely injured and sick. Never.

Thank you so much for encouraging me there are people in this world that care like I do about the fur babies in this world. I had taken in a neighbor's mother cat that was pregnant. Lack of proper nutrition for Mama produced two babies with health issues. The healthy food I gave Mama was too late. I kept the two that (unknown to me) with the health issues. My Mittens had seizures. I ended up putting baby diapers on him. Took him everywhere with me. Natural worked for a while but resorted to meds. The last grand maul seizure took everything from him. I had to put him to sleep. I'm balling now because ai realized I never healed of this loss. Thank you for sharing that others care so much for every living creature. Now I see, anyone else would have destroyed Mittens. I was meant to love and care for him and give him the best life possible.
I have 3 cats, two tuxedos and one all black one. My little Tiny Fuzzy cat is much like Cassidy. I love them all and am about to adopt a 4th, Tiny One, an all black cat. I feed another 9. - Cassidy is so sweet. Thank you for loving him & helping him to walk.
My older cat have back legs paralysed and he cannot control his bowel so i must clean n clean n clean him everytime.cassidy videos give me courage thank u so much for taking care of our kitty.God bless u

It’s sad where a lot of these kitties and cats come from but, with the determination and love that Shelly has for these cats and kitties is absolutely amazing and I love her for that. Cassidy is one adorable kitty and an amazing one too. Never lets anything get in the way either and keeps moving right along.❤️. I admire cats or kittens who unfortunately were born with a disability because they definitely have the know how, want , and definitely the determination to do what it takes for them to do it. TK is so awesome in how they take care of their kitties and I have nothing but the most utmost respect for this rescue. You need to see Noel Fitzpatrick, the Bionic Vet, in England, who does remarkable work with implants with cats who have lost their back legs, like Oscar the Bionic Cat. Mr Fitzpatrick is an amazing vet. All my love to you all and of course, Cassidy!!
Cassidy, now almost 5 years(as of April 2020 has seen a couple of specialist vets. His case is complicated (the accident he had left his leg bones in bad shape). TK is in BC Canada and that would be terribly expensive given all the other work with cats that TK does. They monitor several feral colonies to bring in sick and injured cats and pregnant moms plus doing extensive TNR on those and other colonies. They also feed some of the colonies. Shelly does what she can for Cassidy and loves him dearly.
What a courageous kitty Cassidy is. And a big Bless you to the wonderful people who took him in and never once gave up on him. We need more people like you who care about the less fortunate whether they be animal or human. :)
