We rescued Felicity from a backyard breeder (also called a kitten mill). Her job was to churn out as many kittens as possible as quickly as possible to supply pet stores and sell online. She was not receiving humane care, and came to us with anxiety, fleas, ear mites, tapeworms, upper respiratory infection and a uterine infection that posed a serious threat to her kittens.
Luckily for Felicity, she will know only love, responsible care and a carefree life from now on. Please remember Felicity’s story when you see a cute “purebred” or “exotic” kitten in a pet store or for sale online. For anyone who is wondering: Felicity's kittens are now grown. And all three cats were adopted together by a lady who had experience with Bengals and was willing to take on the challenge so that Felicity would never have to say goodbye to her kittens again. All three have been spayed and neutered and are living happy lives as pampered pets.
As someone who still misses the F-4 Bengal that we took in as a rehome I am so very happy to read that her last two babys will be hers always. Bless their adopter for feeling as I did seeing this.

I have a bengal..for 7 years now... i would have adopted one of the kittens or felicity!! i love bengals.. and if i ever find that backyard breeder... smh
in that clip with her reaction to seeing all the toys and the bed layed out for her, that was probably her first time being loved, and laying in a real bed.

Can't believe it's been 3yrs already. Felicity's story broke my heart but it had the best ending ever! I've never seen a cat that was as grateful for anything as Felicity was. These babies were pure treasures to her bc her other kittens were taken soon after birth. Thank you & God bless all of u at TK. Shelly, u were amazing!

Felicity is the most beautiful cat i have ever seen. Even for a bengal and they are always beautiful. I am crying.. how can somebody treat these angels so bad. I do understand that people want bengals, but what many breeders do to them is so horrible. =(
There are many who breed these cats that love them and take care of them. Reputable breeders are out there, just have to do your research. These rescue groups do great work but calling all breeders out as bad isn't fair. Glad Felicity and her kittens found a good home.
Sadly ironic that the random RUclips-generated ad under this video is "Ragdoll kittens for sale." I hope it makes the breeder lose money.
i've watched Big Cat Rescue vids and had Black Jaguar White Tiger vids come up in my RUclips recs, so definite same. (for folks not in the know--BCR is pretty much "doing it right" for the BIG or at least wild cats, BJWT is textbook "you're doing it WRONG".)
Backyard breeder numbers need to be reduced and controlled by registration in order to prevent the number of unwanted kittens born and cats in shelters. People should not be allowed to breed cats just because they are they feel like it, or are too lazy to get their cats deserved/spayed. Polar Bear Hero, I’m in total agreement with you. I wasn’t just thinking of exotic breeds, I include people who don’t get their pets neutered as the main culprits and when they just let their cat have litter after litter, they can also fall into the category of backyard breeder.
"Domestic cats" are classified as an invasive species.
I love mine, but both (no, sorry, [grimacing in grief] had one euthanised last week -- sweet Lady Jane) my one is neutered. I've had 5 cats over the decades and all were neutered and I've paid for neighbors and others.
Just, don't forget the environmental downside.
@@veramae4098 I agree, there needs to be balance and cat owners must be responsible and keep their pets desexed and confined to there property where possible. I do however stick up for cats because they often get unfairly blamed for more than they should.Recently, a flock of birds near where I live, dropped dead from the sky with no explanation, that’s one where the blame can’t be pinned on cats. Wildlife must be protected, but also from other predators, including humans.

I'm super lucky though...for some Magickal reason...my son is the Pied Piper for Pregnant Ferals and Feral Kittens...they just follow him home...maybe it's his Autism, but I'm thankful.

I have grown attached to many of Tiny Kittens' rescues but Felicity has been my absolute favorite (followed closely by Skye, Starling and the duo Maralix). Felicity is a beautiful Bengal with enormous personality and perhaps the best momma kitty ever... She loved Shelly so much it hurt to hear how excited she'd be when she knew she was coming to see her. The one who adopted her and both her kittens is incredibly lucky to have gotten them. I so wanted to adopt her and her kittens but my own boy wouldn't have it... Happy to be able to follow them on facebook a bit...

A cat is a cat, we don’t have to have a certain breed....Stop breeding them, those cats also end up on the streets..Before you can think of breeding first worry about the many homeless stray cats without a loving home...Every single life once born deserves to live with love and compassion..Instead people turn a blind eye to poor stray cats desperately in need of love and look for a breed that’s physically appealing to them...Imagine if owners of businesses only gave jobs to those who were physically attractive...Most of us would starve...There is a demand that’s why there is backyard breeders...Easy money for those evil lazy beings....Make them all illegal...
It's a shame that people breed/inbreed animals to exaggerate rare physical traits and exploit them for profit. It should be illegal to breed cats! There's no such thing as a responsible pet breeder. Leave cats alone in their natural form.

Felicity and her kittens (now cats) are such beautiful cats and I love how Felicity purrs all the time.
Well, not all the time. She started hiding the kittens. Shelly came in once when F. had a mouthful of kitten and was preparing to jump the wall. Felicity dropped the kitten and looked at Shelly, "What, me? Oh, I'm not doing anything. Everything's fine. Oh, the kitten in my mouth? I don't know how he got there."

I think the best part of this video (of course being the toy kittens is cool, too), was the way you laid hands on her, right away. And she responded so happily.

I was not aware of TKHQ when Felicity and Kittens were around, but I fell in love with them after the fact. Such sweet lovely cats.

One of my favorite TinyKittens moments that I watched live. Shelly worked so hard to prepare us for her having stillborn kittens, and so her shock and joy when they were alive and full term, she broke down in tears. I cried right with her, it was so moving.

I completely understand about buying a rescue kitten, I have done it myself. But I have also brought from a pet shop once, the reason being that if I didn't buy the cat, who would...What happens to the petshop or online cats that we ignore for the sake of the rescue cats?

The story of tis cat is sad ,yet , totally heartfelt and with a feeling of true compassion beyond what most would do. It is beautiful, and poignant.
I liken this to a painting that you see that seems sad but , you notice an element of compassion that reaches your soul.
Well, that cat reaches your soul, and that is because Shelly shows you how much she mattered, for that matter how much ever life she helped mattered, even though many know,some do not.
Felicity mattered, was loved , so too was Mason, Nano, Ramona, Skye, Chapel Aura, Snoopy, Linus,and Cindy Lou.
All at Tinykittens matter, and so do you Shelly for teaching and helping Stanley and just because.
You are a beautiful feline midwife, very special loving person. Bless you!
My cat has 5 kittens yesterday! She is such a good mummy cat. All 5 delivered in an hour! First and last litter though. She even let me help her with the last one, and lets me pick them up. She is amazing. Back street breeders are despicable.
So thankful for a happy ending to 3 of God’s creatures💕

I would add that not only should one adopt from shelters but to also do the research and find those breeders that are reputable. Many responsible breeders do exist and take excellent care of and have great knowledge about those cats they breed. Bred cats deserve homes too...
contact your registering bodies. If a breeder is not registered with them, then they are not held to a code of conduct. Also check with the association fi the breeder has complaints against them.
contrary to popular belief you can get purebred cats and dogs from Shelters, and pets from shelters are always checked for life threatening birth defects (so you won't get a pet that's gonna keel over the second you get home) also you can check with your local vet to see if they know any cats needing good homes.

There is a special kind of hell for people who dump pets.
She wasn't dumped. She was... acquired. Somehow. Nothing illegal, im sure, but Shelly has never explained and we don't ask. If i had to guess though, i would say that a vet encouraged the original owner to surrender Felicity to them and then they contacted TK.
