- Join me as I try to do some plein air painting! All doesn't quite go to plan... but it was a great exercise to let go of my perfectionism and go with the art flow! While the artwork doesn't end up being my favorite, I am really proud and happy with how this video turned out (besides my hair blocking some shots) and I hope you enjoy it too!

Wow this is so fun!!! I do digital art so I'm inside most of the time but this vlog makes me want to grab my sketchbook and go outside!! What made you initially drawn to doing this type of art?
Awwww I love that!!! And thank you so much!!! My dad was a landscape painter so I have always felt very drawn to landscape painting. I got a chance to take a landscape painting class in college that was so much fun. It definitely has its challenges but being out in nature like that feels very grounding.

Good question that’s a tough one haha! And thank you! ❤️ I’d say it’s loose, based on realism but has some cartoonish elements? I kinda just draw what I like and draw how it comes naturally! 😅 sorry this is such a vague answer but I have a hard time figuring out my art style haha
What causes someone to be a slow or fast artist? Is it skill? I’m a slow artist but I’m also just a naturally slow and not urgent person in my daily life.
Honestly that’s a good question! I’m not entirely sure, I think it can be skill and familiarity with what you are drawing. Like how comfortable you are with it? I think I spent a lot of time in the sketching phase and trying to get it exactly right. I overthink it basically. Then my drawings end up looking really stiff. I might do more research into this though. Can an artist really get faster? Or are my expectations just high because we perceive other people being faster artists because of social media?
I think that’s great that you’re not an urgent person in your daily life! It’s good to be in the present moment and enjoy the process!
