/* ---- VIDEO INFORMATION ---- */
Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I'm your host Paul and your saviour has returned.
Loki is back and episode 1 of Season 2 is now out online. Packed with easter eggs, lots of timey wimey wibbly wobbly stuff and a big post credits scene I have to say I'm loving it.
Over the next 8 weeks I'm gonna be breaking down the series frame by frame to bring you all the comic book references and things you missed in it. We'll then be following that with MT handling the big theory and analysis videos so make sure youre subscribe to never miss a video.
Anyway I'm gonna stop wasting time and get right into it.
Now as always we begin with the Marvel studios logo which turns green and gold just like how it did in the first season. As always they've updated this slightly with us now getting a clip of Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 3 and He Who Remains in The A.
He Who Remains looms large over the season with the statue of Kang being how we left things last time. This is where we pick up with us pulling out from one of his statues. We can actually see these littered throughout the TVA and when Loki runs into Hunter B-15 you can catch one behind him. After Loki crashes the car we can also see several of them in a line outside in the windows creating this idea that he's a dictator looking over his domain.

Let us know your thoughts on the episode below
Ok
That LOTR reach clip was absolute gold!!!! 😂😂😂
It was great. I wonder if we will see more versions of Kang in this season.
@@mrgotitfordalowWow. That’s so much info, thanks for that 😂
It’s a masterpiece. Bravo!
The way this episode is crafted with the phenomenal music and the incredible suspense building, I genuinely think this is one of my favorite episodes of Marvel TV! Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson's chemistry in the show is off the charts! I can't wait till next week!
YES. the only thing is my Sylvie fix was not satisfied... perfectly done with her teases though
It’s a masterpiece. Bravo!
Ik maybe im biased bc im coming off Ahsoka but this episode was like next level. Legit great television
You guys say everything is amazing my goodness lol. “This trash was different from the other trash mmmmhhhh smells better than before”
The "previously on" scene and the marvel intro boosted up my excitement
When Loki told Morbius "It was a draw.", I couldn't help but think of Thor explaining that his breakup with Jane was a "mutual dumping".
The world they built (the TVA) is astounding. I love all the detail in it
The only thing I didn't like about S.2 Ep. 1 is I have to wait another whole week for the next episode! 😭 I was on the edge of my seat the entire time!
I had chills all over my body, all throughout the episode. I actually think this is probably the best first episode of any Marvel property.
I know! Damn it. There were some really funny moments and that tension and delivery with Loki flying out of the timeline into Morbius ❤ golden
Well season 1 ended with a cliffhanger
The first 4 episodes were shown to critics and its overall a positive experience, one even told me this would be a perfect series to wait till all 6 episodes come out to binge in a weekend since there’s no “dang it I got spoiled since I didn’t watch the episode the second it came out”
same, it was brilliant.
Loki is without a doubt THE BEST DISNEY/MARVEL TV SERIES EVER.
I loved this first episode. I literally can't wait for the next episodes. ❤
LOKI SEASON 2 HYYYYPE
@@owieczkacs 💚"YOUR SAVIOR IS HERE"🧡 🐊
Yeeep, love this show. I wish all the marvel shows were as cool and high quality.
@@redsoxfox Yeah. Loki is one of the few recent Marvel content that Kevin Feigi personally monitored. If you put some passionate ppl in charge and focus on a single project, instead of running 3 projects at once, every project will be as great as this one.
agents of shield would like a word
Loki is back. MCU is back baby
Calm down dude😅
MCU never left
Absolutely love that Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead directed this episode. They usually do independent, low budget science fiction. The Endless, Something in the Dirt, Spring... all great films. Stoked to see theyre breaking into the larger budget scifi scene.
They definitely brought the creepy atmosphere from experience in Moon Knight to Loki, the scene of Loki walking across the TVA hallway in the future while the phone started ringing, it’s hard to explain but it just feels unsettling
Love the fact that the first thing you see is Johnthan Majors face as the cam pans out. Let’s go Marvel. The good ole days are back baby!
I'd wait to say this until the finale
3:28 That clip from LOTR of Sam screaming 'Reach!' when talking about the 435 easter egg almost brought me to tears. This channel never disappoints
Man, getting a Heavy Spoilers notification while watching the Loki post credits is the best feeling ever
This is how shows should be done, with continuity, great storytelling, no filler, great directing/acting , fantastic cinematics
Cinematography was on point the camera movement was so sick
Great first episode, a proper show with proper acting and writing
But what really gets to me is hearing Kang confess his love to Ravonna makes me feel like my theory was right about Kang's "I have lost, you have no idea what I've lost. And I will burn them out of time for what they did to me." line to Janet in Quantumania. My theory was that either Ravonna was a casualty in the previous multiversal war, or after "prime" Kang loses, the Council of Kangs kill that particular variant of Ravonna before they exile him to the Quantum realm.
I think maybe that the Sylvie that comes out of the elevator was sent there by future Loki to prune him because of what she says…”there you are” like she was running around looking for him to prune him so things fall into place. And Loki was calling himself on the phone to get him to the right place.
Yes sounds really good. I think this series will end with the opening scene of season 2… from Möbius’s point of view, he will have had his memory wiped
Yup right on point good sir !
That really seemed quite obvious. The Future Loki jumped to is not that far ahead.
Loki was definitely pruned from behind so I don’t think it could be sylvie as she was trapped in the elevator…
This episode made me feel like I was time-slipping into 2021, back when I still cared about the MCU. Loki Season 2 really is hitting the ground running and I honestly can't wait to see more.
Loki is was broke the MCU completely. If you liked the MCU you should hate this god awful show
Something about you mentioning the crack in the floor in the credits had it occur to me - I wonder if that's foreshadowing for the crack in Mobius' helmet being a sign the suit is used in a future episode, in the past, to cause the crack.
I wasn’t a huge fan of season 1 but the first episode of season 2 was super solid. It felt like they went back and put some energy into the series.
It was energy from season 1… but its chaotic now, before it was organized but since everything is going haywire.. its just chaos and its dope
Season one had a lot of setup of the rules of the show. But now we don't need it the setup. May the chaos reign
Just curious, what didnt you like? I loved it!
@@ComptonCrypto it just felt a little boring from comic books/ superhero perspective. I felt bored watching it. Some of the Disney+ Marvel series feel like that in comparison to movies.
@@devontawhiteit was far from Boring maybe if you watch superhero shows and movies for constant cgi fight scenes then you aren't really an intellectual viewer and good tv isn't for you so don't blame that on the show. That's more on you
29:50 “they don’t waste any time hitting the ground running…”
while showing Loki running! ❤
Well played sir! Well played
you were QUICK with this one holy cow lol, thanks legend 🙏🏻
The concept used with Loki time slipping is called the Boot Strap Paradox. It is used quite often in Hollywood in films like Arrival & Interstellar.
Yea he references the bootstrap paradox like 8 times ... Did you even watch the video
@@thatguy1488 It's not a fixed timeline (Bootstrap Paradox) but a dynamic timeline (Grandfather Paradox) Do you or Paul even know anything about time travel?
Wilson and Huddleston have such amazing chemistry, and Ke Huy Quan is great for a deadpan techie role.
I was physically angry when the episode finished. It went by so god damn fast!
I like how they declared their logic flawless just before doing a bunch of logic breaking nonsense
4:16 another cool detail, Casey's walkman is saying something like "Relax, calm your mind." Eluding to the fact that Kang may use that as some type of mind control to keep all the TVA employees docile.... that and the Key Lime Pie lol
Loki is MCU's Saviour we all need
The wait is over! I’m so exited to see where this season leaves us, and as always thank you for the amazing breakdowns!
Great breakdown, Paul!! I'm so excited about Loki S2. I'm always looking forward to your breakdowns!! 👍 😊
Damn this season started off intriguing as hell. I thought we were about to lose a Mobius and Loki variant already 😂
If I never saw the trailers I would’ve thought one of them was gonna die in this episode but trailers showed them together in different times already so knew it was gonna be a last second save the day moment
I love how he only travels through time and not through space so he always ends up in the same physical space just at different times
Thank you! Paul your Fastest breakdown time is incredible 😎
I'm so stoked for all of this. 💚 and yay, Jessica!! Can't wait for all of the breakdowns and chats on anticipated plots.
Ahhhh I'm stoked for this season and as always appreciate your breakdowns Paul!
I watched the episode right after it was released and went straight to RUclips, thrilled to find your breakdown hot on the episodes heels.
Great job Ryan. I love all your well most of your content. Thanks.
Thankful for you posting as soon as the episode airs
I think Miss Minutes is the consciousness of Rivona. We heard the audio of HWR saying how special Rivona was. If he lives outside time then Rivona needs a form to “remain” with him.
Love how you explain everything so clearly 😊
Just finished the episode! Greatly looking forward to your beak down and theory time.
Y'all NAILED THIS. Thank you for your POV and knowledge x
Wholly shid!!!! Loki is back with the best of the MCU by a long shot!!!!!!!! Epic review!!! Let's go!!!!
Been waiting along time for this show! Wish we got 2 episodes !
Loki is sooooooo refreshing! Great video man
thankyou for the summary
Love the breakdowns
Just awesome, that the theories and speculations get so crazy again 😂
the episode did a damn great job for me 🥳
Awesome video Sir you're too good the first episode really left me spellbound it's gonna be a masterpiece season 2 also very hyped for Victor Timely especially 5/5 for me.
Great episode, really loved the Parris clip with “Theory time” hilarious
I really enjoyed the camerawork this episode!
Paul I rewatched episode 1 and they don't use the Bootstrap Paradox. I initially thought that as well. However, after the rewatch, Im sure that they use the Grandfather Paradox. Obi had no knowledge of Loki before he saw him, Mobious in the present explained the situation. When Loki time slipped 200 years, he explained to Obi why he was there, time slipping. Because Loki changed the future rather than making it happen, that is the Grandfather Paradox. Now with Mobious, at the same exact time 200 years later in the present, Obi now knew the entire story and the machine was now by his feet for the last 200 years. When Mobious & Loki first saw Obi in the present, the machine wasn't there. Loki's time traveling changed the future, the present, making the machine appear 200 years later. Except now it was always there for the last 200 years. That is the Grandfather Paradox, most popularly used in Back To The Future.
good stuff. thx
Loki is already starting off crazy
3:28 REEAAACCHHH! 😂 one of the best uses of it
Fast post! Nice!
I agree! Great 1st episode! Can't wait for the next one 😊
So glad we got a season 2 aired with the strikes going on. Loki is my favorite marvel series so getting another season is awesome
It was brilliant. The pacing and humor were fantastic. I loved how they explained complex theories with ease and it didn't drag the show down.
Thank you Paul.
"How long has it been?" A long time since all of you RUclipsrs were this happy! THANKS for this!!!
Time Slipping. Think of it as, Everything, Everywhere, All at once. Or, if you've ever seen Jet Li's, The One. Except he doesn't get more powerful as the other Loki's are erased.
This is already a great show, you can tell that it was shot to be a show and it feels so unlike anything else that Marvel has done. Good stuff.
Honestly, I need to rewatch the first season. It’s crazy how since 2020 this is the most creative project by Marvel. I used to think this was going to be a cheap spin-off…
Thank you!!!!
Absolutely loved it
Awesome episode. Thanks for the breakdown. The obvious thing is that in this episode we dare both the end of the season as well as the beginning. I can’t wait to see how it plays out and if there are some interesting twists along the way.
Hi @heavyspoilers ! Love your content, been following you for years. I wanted to ask what you use to edit your videos and if it's a paid or free software? And if you know any free software for editing such RUclips videos you could recommend
Loki season 2 episode 1 was amazing as well as this breakdown. Bring on the rest Paul👍🏿👌🏿
Absolutely loved this episode.
*GLORIOUS PURPOSE*
I am not the only one that got Major X-Men vibes when the Shot from the Door to the Room was kinda like Cerebro with the bridge as well from Bryan Singer 🤔
This was an awesome episode .
If the whole season is like this we're in for a fun ride .
Thank you Paul!!!!!!!
I love that the first shot and sound was the end of season 1. I had just watched the finally waiting for 9pm Eastern, and so glad I did
I loved this first episode. I literally can't wait for the next episodes. ❤
I assumed the “other analyst” Mobius mentions were the last versions of him. He didn’t remember making the rings, but he’s always been the same guy, never using a coaster.
When Loki gets pruned at the end you can the time sticks glowing in the back of him before it cuts to next scene. So looks like you might be right about the bootstrap theory. Great episode
Loki didn't catch that book. You see his hand go behind OB. I think it's CGI trickery. You don't actually see Loki's hand catch it. You see the movement, hear the sound, but I don't think he caught it in reality.
Loved this episode!!
Just finished watching this episode 🙌🏾
Had a feeling there was gonna be a end credit scene at the “end of time” and was pleasantly surprised hope there’s one every episode
What a great start.
This will be the best Marvel project of the decade. But if Mobius doesn’t get a god damn Jet Ski, ima blow a gasket.
THIS EPISODE WAS AMAZING!!!! I was hooked on every single moment!
Good start, lets see how it goes
Loved the episode
Ahhh yes, this is what I have been waiting for.
He literally predicted the future with this
The MCU already used the Bootstrap Paradox, which created a huge plot hole at the end of Endgame. When Steve traveled back in time to stay with Peggy Carter he created an alternate time-line. Yet they didn't show us how old Steve got back to the main time-line to be sitting on the bench at the end of Endgame.
But then the TVA would've pruned it. Steve stayed in ours, covered every base, and allowed the timeline to flow as it already did.
Or alternatively, he (or someone in the know) made a deal with the TVA/He who remains, since his OG timeline is considered sacred and proper.
@@fireblade295 That's not how the time travel in endgame works. It very specifically WILL create branches, the intent of the grab and return is the minimize the impact of said branches. Which actually fits into the sacred timeline logic, as the sacred timeline was never depicted as a single timeline, but many timelines woven together, aka with minimal changes to ensure they all happen in roughly exactly the same way.
14:01 SHOUTOUTTTT my guyyy come on now 🤙🏽😂 man even said the iconic line
Brilliant episode. The hallway scene was so reminiscent of The Matrix hallway scene with the ringing phone and Neo’s final encounter with Smith and the agents
This season is going to be so awesome!
YES!!!!!! Love the Paul and MT Dream Team...
can't wait to see EP2
I like to think they'd throw in some form of X-Men reference/Easter/Teaser for Phase 5 because that temporal loom room is alot like Cerebro, down to the way the door opens.
Thanks for this video @heavyspoilers, wasn't the mail truck driver Sylvie?
No.
Paul, the way the episode has these long one-shots reminded me of the work of director Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Birdman & The Revenant)
Thank you.
Did anyone else wonder if the flickering of OB's light was actually someone trying to signal in morse code?
I haven't watched it yet will in bit. Fact u got this out in hr. Amazing 👏. What u break down the episode as it was live. Lol
So good to have loki back!
3:49 I got the "see, he can bleed, he's just a man" vibes from this
It is Kubrickesk in some shots. It is fun, it is beautiful, and best bit of Marvel for quite some time. Appreciate your deep dive.
