Ahmed was inconsistent here as a parent he should have understood Kosem point of view sometimes every Sultan seems to forget everything a girl in the harem has to do to actually survive and later to protect her prince , at this point Ahmed naïveté is kinda foolish
Wow horrible thing to kidnap the poor sister of Kosem , to make her in the harem of Ahmed for make her rival ( imagine if Hafsa would do that, because I can see make her that move too). Even if Kosem shouldn't have done that we can only admire the self control she has to not hit Humasah and Safiye. And why did Humasah thinking by addressing Gulbahar in this way (actually we know why to add a new enemy to Kosem but it does not work this plan, she should have known it with Yasemin). But still please me that Humasah love all her nephews and nieces ( I won't see make the same move as Fariye). Just like historical Ahmed, Ahmed show should have definitely repealed the law of fratricide because it is not enough to spare Mustafa (we all know what will happen next). But to be fair even if he would have done that, the temptations of brotherhood would still have been many.
@@drfhgs428 Yes maybe. We will never know but I think that if he respect Mahfiruze who was not his favorite, it is probably safe to told that he care more about his childrens than Suleiman ( with Mustafa) , Murad III, Ibrahim or Mehmed IIII
@@nesiacha3659 Well,i don't think that Ahmed just respected Mahfiruze,i think that he also liked her,but he really loved Kosem and she was his true favorite. Ibrahim I was the worst,he wanted to apoint as his heir the son of Mehmed's wet nurse(Zafire Hatun),and he hated Mehmed because according to him he was born ugly and he blamed Turhan why Mehmed was ugly, he also had bad relationship with his other children too. About Mehmed III.Yes he was very bad sultan and father,in Manisa Handan was his favourite there and soon Halime became also his favorite there too.But they weren't his only concubines in Manisa as sehzade,he also had a lot of daughters(more than 6)but nothing is know about them. Venetian baillo had noted in 1596 that Mehmed III had two main consorts and a lot of daughters from many slaves. Also when Ahmed had ascended the throne, another ambassador had noted that Ahmed is in difficult situation to find husbands for his several aunts and sisters. But when he was sultan,Handan lost his favour, but Halime didn't yet. And i think that Ahmed tried to be different in that matter, not to be like his father. I think that even though Safiye,Handan,Halime and Meleksima were favourites and lost favour later(for Halime and Meleksima it's sad actually)they had time when they were respected in their lives by their sultans. But about Suleiman,he never respected Mahidevran, and she was never his favorite. Ibrahim I is worse than him true, but he was mentally unstable, but what about Suleiman? Not only Mahidevran, but also the mother of Sehzade Mahmud, who lived in the Old Palace and died in or after 1543.
