I was a hair and nail tech for 30 years (got my license in 1979 at 19), 15 of that doing just nails. Now that I've been retired for a few years, I still do my own nails. I switched from acrylic to gel about 2 years ago, after wearing acrylic for about 35 years. I love gel and poly gel and have been doing pretty good after teaching myself how to use it, growing my own nails out and keeping a builder layer on them. I've gotten more good tips from watching a couple of your videos than I had from a year of watching a ton of other videos on using gel. You do such a great job! I'm looking forward to many more videos from you in the future and keeping busy watching your older ones.
@@shontesmith2439 I started out using IBD Builder in pink but it's too sticky, I've tried a variety since then, in search of the perfect gel. I've tried Supernails (clear) which wasn't bad, Mia Secret Firmagel (pink) which I had a reaction to, NailBasix from premiernailsource.com (pink & clear), which is what I'm using now and works pretty well but it's a very thin viscosity. I just got an order from Yayoge and am going to try their builder gel and builder in a bottle. After 2 years, I'm still searching for the right viscosity and color, I like a little pink in my gel, most are either way too pink or almost clear. I've also tried about every brand of poly gel out there, and I love poly gel but I keep going back to builder gel. All in all, despite the stickiness, I keep going back to the IBD, I'd like to try their poly gel now.
$87 dollars?! in my soulja boy voice. I might have to pack it up and move to Texas cause here in DC you couldn’t get that quality for no less than $100 unless you want a nail infection to go along with your set. 😭
@tabythascott_nails Honey, you aren't charging enough for your work! Your an amazing nail tech and you need to get paid for the work you do! My opinion is that your under valuing your work. You not only need to factor in the cost of product, time, and skills but also the cost of all your bills you have at the salon and at home.
I’m gonna say $95 is what you charged. These are so beautiful! Also, thanks to you explaining the drips from her previous set so well, I finally conquered it! Thanks ♥️
The price book is really smart, if all techs had these. You take your (guide) hm. & can do your pricing. Seems like they charge how their feeling that day. This way you can factor in your tip accordingly👍🏾💅🏽
Girl!!!! I have watched a lot of videos of various people doing nails and you by far are the best I have ever seen in my life! This girls nails are gorgeous and you do such a fabulous job on them! I watch every single video you have put out. You have a faithful follower!
Oh, Tabytha babe, that cross fit bit has changed my life. My gawd! At 1st I wasn't feeling it but now that i have the hang of it I love it. Oh and your reverse technique is bomb too. Thank youuuuuuuu! One more thing, I'm loving your primer technique too
I love your nails i live in germany but Nobody really NOBODY is this talented, i m learning from you everyday thanks for all your footage ❤continue please
I hope you have time to record her new set after this. I would love to see how her drip looks post 4 weeks 😩 Your work always looks great after such long wears you have some customers that go 6 weeks. 😩 I wish I lived near you. 😢 keep up the good work. Honestly I thought and think all your set are worth over $100 just due to longevity alone. I pay 30+ every other week (can’t go longer than that) so if you do the math..... you are really blessing these ladies hands and pockets IN MY OPINION...... anyway I love your work 😘
I love how you narrate!!!!.. $87 is an Awesome price.. Here in Vegas these nails would be $100 and up and the tech would have a straight attitude lol.. This is why I do my own.. Beautiful and Flawless work!!!
Your time is worth so much more girl you're amazing 😍 your clients are lucky fr you could get away with charging much more , you put so much thought & detail into every step of the way. Hell you teach me so much just from these videos.
Thank you for the comment you made "I'm a slow nailtech" I applaud you so many ppl are used to fast fast in and out quality nails just don't happen in 20 minutes. You're so bomb girl!
I'm new to your channel and am so impressed with the amount of information you put in this video. So helpful and I think the fact that you are willing to share your pricing guide and allow ppl to use it is amazing! Thank you so much for everything and when I am ready to start my actual bussiness you will be my first contact for that booklet! I cant say enough how impressive you are all around as a bussiness woman!!!
girl! you are not charging enough and your super freaking talented! they asked me in school who's the best nail artist and i said you and Naio Nails Christi! to me this set is worth $120 at least! and your stones are so cheap! time to up price girl! get it!
Thank you for sharing your method. I think that the design was VERY high-end, looking. I'm sure you are pricing yourself at the best possible range for your market but I feel like you do "specialty" nails and could be able to charge more. Especially considering your proven track record of having durable designs. If I was a professional I would definitely purchase the guidebook.
Your work is absolutely radiant and beautiful! I want to start my nail career at the age of 23 & I don’t have much support to start because so many problems in my life has always stopped me from getting my career started & watching your videos makes me want to go forward towards my journey in nails 🤗 so if you may have any tips or advice for me to start will be so very helpful for me I’ll be gratefully appreciative for any advice 🤗 I love your work & keep it up cause you’re inspiring honey ❤️
I love your work😍👌🏽 I get gel polish on long almond shaped nails but I just get acrylic over them to keep the strength. My nail tech is here in Pittsburgh and I’ve been going to her since I was 12 and I’m 28! Lol she would charge 40 and a tip of course for this design plus a fill👑 May God continue to bless you and yours as well as anyone reading this🙏🏽
I don’t do nail but I love watching these videos. You are so informative and detailed. I imagine other techs watching learn a lot and greatly appreciate you!!
Please post more videos this detailed you are a great teacher and Amazing at what you do. I like to take my time as well and get nervous about it but since watching your videos I feel comfortable about taking my time to provide Superb quality and services
I absolutely love your work Tabytha, It inspires me each and every time to do better and try other things outside of my comfort zone, like I use to. Please continue to let me Watch you work. I also love how you tell us what products used and where to get them, it really helps. Thank you so much for sharing your passion.
I’m so surprised at the price..i love your work. It’s beautiful. You take your time. No rushing. Your so neat and your designs are amazing. I would have definitely said 100-150.I wished i lived where you are cause your everything i want in a nail tech😫😂💕
I’ve been watching you for over two years now and you are still one of the best nail techs on RUclips. I wish more techs paid as much attention to the cuticle area as you (and I ) do. Messy cuticles ruin the entire mani in my opinion. Keep up the good work! 👏👍🏻💅🏻😁
I loved the last set I loved the drip in the bright colors I’m definitely inspired to get this for my birthday since it’s Halloween it will go perfectly with my costume concept
Thank you for the video and all the detail that you give. The video may be long but NOT boring! Nice that you actually talk about products that you use, how to use them and what really works (details matter). I am wondering about what cuticle oil you use. Thanks again for sharing your videos.
If coarse I’m subscribed, crazy not to. I am sooo impressed that you’ve put up your pricing guide for us to purchase. Such a fantastic idea as it’s a problem for me selling myself short. This makes me feel justified in charging that which I know I’m worth. In Australia I’ll need to add another 25% due to the difference in the dollar, therefore $87 becomes approximately $115. Totally worth it and more here. I feel quite a bit more in charge now. Thanks Tabytha. I happen to think you’re marvellous both in design work and business. Love ya heaps xxoo ❤️🇦🇺
Beautifully shaped nails they are perfect, love the colours you used, the light Elegance builder gel is awesome I love how it self levels, awesome work & looking forward to your next video👍🏽🥰🥰🥰

I just can't see the snakeskin because of the wet look over it but it's still a gorgeous set. I see more clouds or just a pattern of triangle type shapes. Like I said though it is a gorgeous set whether it looks like snakeskin to everyone or not.
Omgggg I feel you do hard about the things that take off or don't. I do dolls. Sometimes I'm like "this one is amazing, everyone will love it" and same, few views. Then ones that I'm literally worried I'll get a load of hate from a fandom and it will get loads of views/comments/likes/commissions 😮😮😮 I wish I knew which would work cause dayum it's hard to keep an upload schedule haha
Easily 100, for take down, fill, fix, different shapes plus the length & different designs.. yeah I’m not a nail tech yet, but considering how long it prob takes too these are all things I’d think add to the cost rightfully so. Your nails always look great and last so the quality is there..
Omg your ptices are like five times more than the ones i have. I am always making my work less And i charge 10$ acrylic full set lmao This system is better the one you have i will gonba reorder my work thanks Also y i can ask how many appoinments you have per day? Or how many days a week you work?
That price is SO reasonable! I thought it would be $120. Here in Japan nails are seriously expensive. I don't remember what things cost outside if Japan...
I think this is very professional and is giving me an idea to do this because I am a make up artist and I think this would be perfect to do to put down prices and the type of make up I’m going to do as in wedding parties extension and lashes and so far though I like this idea thanks for showing this video
Is this the 3rd or 4th now that this is being refilled? I remember when you done the matte colours. Looks great tho👌 when is she going to change the shape?
This is like her 30th refill!...I don’t really know that, but I never remove her nails and she’s been coming to me for almost 3 years I believe...at most, file the product low to rebuild it for an acrylic ombré or change product similar to what I did in this video. She’s had this shape almost the whole time I’ve been doing her nails so I’m not sure if she’ll change it anytime soon🤷🏽♀️ When I think about it, this actually might be close to 25-30 fills🤔😂
Tabytha Scott Nails 😲 wooh I didn’t know that damn she must really love keeping her nails done then but on the other hand it’s good having clients that always coming back to you 3years strong good for her finding someone she can trust like that 😅And her nails are always looking great love your work you’re and inspiration. Bless you ❤️❤️
Hey Tabytha, I may have missed it in a video but I wanted to ask, why does you client do two different styles? I’m asking because I’ve been thinking about doing it myself. I’ve worn stiletto for 5+ years but recently a nail tech did the narrow coffin on my and I really liked it as well. I was thinking about rocking both like your client does. I love the look.
