It always warms our hearts to watch visitors experience the whalesharks-our migratory gentle giants that remain in the red list of vulnerable migratory species-and for you guys to make the effort of going to Donsol at that, the place where they recorded the baby male whaleshark free-swimming back in 2020 (a great sign, of course!).
I am from the Philippines and have yet to make my story about my own whaleshark experience but I've always been in awe of them, and for you you both pocket this experience to take wherever your journeys take you and share it here is amazing. I'm a senior citizen. Just subscribed here coz I immediately liked this couple. So friendly. Their style of vlogging is straight to the panoramic scenes coupled with enumerating what's going on every step of the way. The guy's equanimity is admirable despite the plane's broken aircon and his frustrations with getting to an ATM machine. Hope you get the best of what you came for in our country.

Mayon the perfect cone volcano in the world. Bohol is also one of the place that you can see whale sharks. That area is the manta bowl where you can also see the manta ray.

Thank you for doing this in Donsol. It is the more eco friendly way of swimming with the whale sharks and in support with the WWF. We were there last year and we were able to swim with 6 during our 3 hour tour. It was amazing.
This is not too far from the Mayon Volcano so you can do both when in the area.
Tranquil tourism feels weirdly good and easy on the eyes😊

I'm actually so glad that you did your research for this video. As much as I understand how the locals in Oslob are just trying to make a living, the way they're doing it is just, well, unethical. I hope that their local government fixes the issue soon. I'm planning to see the whale sharks some time in the future too so this video was very helpful.

Just got back from oslob, now I understand why a lot of people were suggesting donsol over oslob.
tip. when traveling to the provinces in the philippines, as soon as you get off the plane, go to the money changers in the airport. do not risk looking for atms in the small towns, they are often out of service. you're welcome!
Bicol should improve their Bank system and Cebu Pacific should maintain the air-conditioning because it's really annoying when your boarding the plane when it's hot inside.

The best thing about these whale shark you have been encountered was, it hasn't been feeding with shrimps by the locals to boost tourism. Kudos to the crew of the boat, they have made your vacation extra special. Love it when you both enjoyed it a lot.❤

I love whale sharks be it Donsol, Oslob or Bohol. But for me the highlight is seeing the majestic Mayon Volcano. It's larger and has a closer to perfect cone shape than Mt. Fuji. It's a shame local tourism don't promote it enough. Marvel did a better job promoting it having it as the beautiful backdrop for the Avenger movie poster.
The Whale Sharks were majestic, but the Mayon volcano was truly breathtaking too 🏔️

Your video shows that unlike China who thinks nothing of destroying the ecosystem at West Philippine Sea, Philippines has devised a system that allows safe eco-tourism that protects the environment but also offers livelihood to communities. For Filipinos, environment protection is a big concern. Can you imagine if instead of eco-tourism - with well qualified English-speaking guides - the income source could have been whale shark meat instead? That is what the Chinese phalanx of fishing boats at Philippine sea are doing.

Despite the hassle of looking for an ATM in the end you’ve seen the whale shark. If you were early you might never see any of the whale shark.

We were there in May, but anytime between November and June is a good time to go see the Whale Sharks 🐋
Awesome seafood dishes ! Anyway I agree that oslob is too much. Not ethical. But again a chicken and egg issue. Without tourism dollars, these people will kill the whale sharks.
You are right, the chicken or the egg is a difficult debate. We just had to make the call that we felt best about, but we certainly don't fault people for whatever decision they make. And for us, it turned out to be a wonderful experience, we made some new friends, and that seafood was a HUGE bonus 🍤 👏
You could made a research before going to the Philippines which every vlogger said be always ready with cash because atm cant be relied on.
