I got a regular video about this too: • No room in your freeze... It is cheap and easy! Cheers! More on unclepetescocktailshop #homebarlife #cocktails #shorts
Just let the water sit for a while, over night or however long it takes. This allows the air in the water to escape and there you go, ready to freeze without any air bubbles.
The more it's insulated from the cold the clearer it will be. The sides and bottom freeze slower than the exposed top so as it freezes top to bottom all the impurities will sink down as it progresses
I used your strategy several times now, about 8 times in the last week, and it absolutely works! Just make sure to research the thickness of plastic and document water temp if using boiling water before pouring into cup. Plastic does melt at the temperature water boils. Excellent clear cubes using this device. Thanks for the video!
@@UnclePete I don't know about that. But unless you introduce air back by whisking or something i don't think it will come back. At least not as much as there was before.
Okay, this works and the clear ice looks great, but I’ll take cloudy ice over the possibility of losing a finger any day. I’ve already lost a fingertip and let me tell you that was PAINFULLLLL! So yep, cloudy ice it is for me! 😂
@@UnclePete lol No, I lost a fingertip in the front door during the last hurricane. The wind slammed the door so fast and hard it took off my fingertip like a guillotine. Lots of blood. Lots of pain. I could easily have lost more than just the tip and more than just one finger, so I consider myself lucky. Makes me appreciate my fingers a lot more though!
Tried this with a thermos over the weekend and the result was amazing! Making more this week
Great to hear! I just made more today!
Watch out, ice can kill a thermos, the expansion can cause the glass inside the actual thermos container inside to crack

lol
genius
Thanks!
Why?
Why what?
Why are you painting nails?
Why not?
@@UnclePete here in my country its gamblers thing.. against bad luck...
Gamblers paint their nails to prevent bad luck?
@@UnclePete in my country, yes..🙂
Why are your nails painted 🤡🤡🤡🤡
Oh its cuz I love clowns, thanks for your support.
may i ask why you paint your nails? for aesthetics or is there a health benefit to it? if its the latter i might consider it
just for fun. you don't need a reason.
@@UnclePete Just tried your ice method with towels around a plastic (half-cut off) bottle and it worked beautifully. thanks!
You're welcome!
I imagine the day when cloudy ice will be all the rage.. Then you'll have to redo the video of you throwing away the clear part.
Ha! I also keep the cloudy ice :)
I accidentally cut myself but good video 😁😁
be careful!
Subscribed for the beep boops and fingernails
I appreciate that!
I never knew I needed this thank you
No worries

Correct
@@UnclePete it's not impurities, it's air bubbles
@@bitonic589 Air bubbles are impurities
@@UnclePete air bubbles are the absence of ice. impurities are something tangible that is mixed with the ice that isn't water.
@@bitonic589 Air is tangible, its a gas.
Thank you!! Cause 🤣 I'll be damned if I spend 1000 dollars on somethin that makes frozen water into the shape of a damn ball
Yes 1000 would be extreme!
I don't take any advice from a man who has dyed nails
I don’t care what you think
i couldn't get over the nails WTF
so fragile!

Hey cool! It’s a great method! I don’t boil the water at all, for just this reason. It melts the bottle. Still works great! Cheers!
thanks my guy, ima sub to you, your editing is great!
Thanks for the sub! I appreciate it!
why tho
Why am I doing it? or Why does it work?
If you put the koozie on the water bottle from the top down it'll let the gas escape out as it freezes
I’m going to try that and see if it makes any difference.
Genius. Thanks man!
no worries
thts a nice shade unclepete....my girlfriend would love it.....whts it called?
Er. Not sure.
Why would you paint your finger nails?
It pleases me to do so.
Same reason he wears makeup
what is the purpose of the koozie? Can I make clear ice without that?
The coozie insulates the water so it freezes top down. Without the coozie the ice will be cloudy. You can also do this in a cooler with the lid off
You missed the fact you’re using RO water
It's just a filter. It is also not really a big factor
An ice cube of ice. We're talking about Ice? Not a block of ice. Not a tray of ice. A cube of ice. An ice cube, of ice? Ice? We're talking about ice?
A Cylinder actually.
@@UnclePete Lol even worse.
What is the point of the coozie
I causes the water to freeze from the top down, the cloudy bits form last, so they end up at the bottom and can be easily removed
hot damn, now we all know how to freeze water.. lets patent this
great idea, get on it.
Clear ice: the most overrated thing... Ever
Yeah it is pretty awesome.
What is thay on your nails? 🥸
They're covered in awesome.

Just wanted to let you know that you can reduce the amount of air in the ice by boiling it before freezing it.
The air will return when the water cools though
@@UnclePete I don't know about that. But unless you introduce air back by whisking or something i don't think it will come back. At least not as much as there was before.
honestly it doesn't matter, this method gets me clear ice and there is no need to boil the water, which does not improve anything in my experience.
@@UnclePete Sure, you do you. I just wanted to let people know that you can boil the water and get the same effect.
Except you can't . Boiling the water doesn't give you clear ice,: ruclips.net/user/shortstxMluj3ugwQ?feature=share

Good for you!
*I Love your nails bro!*

Ice is so cold it turned his fingertips *blue* !
