I just switched from Chrome to Firefox. Loving it so far! Better tracking protection, better RAM usage, handy features like picture-in-picture mode, and trying to keep a non-chromium-based browser alive!
Update: Switched back to Chrome boys
Bruh I was firefox user for so so long but recently chrome builds has much much better optimisation for low end devices their ram usage idle cpu usage is far far better than recent firefox
So I have to make a switch.
wdym bettter ram usage, firefox used way more ram than any other browser
@@ItsMeZendra true
Nah bro really out here glazing. Firefox better RAM usage? Nah
Can you make a video on which windows or macbook pc is best for flutter or mobile development
Could you please include web basemark 3.0 into your tests? It's cool test, I'm always use it to understand how good the machine copes when doing web work. And could you please compare different macs in term of web browser test, like m2 air vs m1 pro vs m2 pro vs m2 max?
as well thanks for you effort
I am only using Arc since I got invited. I don't know about performance because it doesn't matter anymore that much for my use cases on my M1 Max. Arc is really the browser o was looking for years.
It will be nice to see one for edge on Windows too. I usually use edge for development and I'm curious to see if it's d best choice
Edge is nice. Using far less RAM since I left Google Chrome for Microsoft Edge
I use Chrome for web dev and Safari for everything else (web consumption). JavaScript Core (safari's js engine) is much faster and better optimized than V8 (JS engine of Google Chrome & other Chromium based browsers)
What's so good about Chrome for web development?
I'm not a web developer, so I'm just curious.
And how you make that hybrid
@@ThomasVanhelden it supports the latest features in terms of graphics and styling, and it offers a much more detailed insights of the requests being made, and has much more advanced debugging features when compared to non-chromium based browsers.
@@TechdubberStudios I follow you on the support of features, and I also think it is available and most widely used, which is a big thing when developing your web app.
That said, isn't it better to use a dedicated debugging proxy (e.g., Proxyman)? It's much more potent than what browsers offer, and I heavily prefer it.
Man, I got 408 for Speedometer, 300 for JetStream and 3502 for Motion Mark on Safari on my M2 MacBook Air
Would be cool to see the same test on Windows.
I think Safari improved as Apple moved to their own silicon. Its performance is not that great when they were still on the x86 processor.
Umm i use firefox
Linux version of Safari, aka Epiphany Web Browser (or Gnome Web) does pretty well too (at least on x86 Ubuntu), and its built-in adblocker does fantastic job in Europe since it blocks CMPs. Unfortunately it does poorly on anything that is not x86 Ubuntu (I tried with every flavour of Manjaro both on a P400 and a 2020 Lenovo)
For me it works like sh!t. Really slow, always, bad compatibility...
How about MS Edger?
For Mac there is no more good browser than Safari) Its really light use not much power and cpu) There is by default suspender. And good synchronization.
Wpuld be interesting to see Orion (by Kagi) tested. They claim to sometimes be even fater than Safari.
I suppose Arc would be interesting to see too.
Hi there. I use Orion to get access to Requestly extension so I did for you on my M1 Pro base model all apps closed
ORION SAFARI FIREFOX
motionmark. 3153 3332 1635
speedometer. 403 410 300
jetstream2 290 290 175
So very close (which is not surprising) but not better, and way less stable than Safari when heavy JavaScript workload is involved.
But Orion is still in beta and is very promising. Can't wait to see the official V1!
So i just ran the test with JetStream:
- 315 for Arc
- 311 for Safari
- 309 for Chrome
Arc is my main browser so I didn't close anything so i might be even higher
No Edge?
edge is so good, he is afraid
I’ve started using Edge recently (after this video), and I’m really liking it.
@@AZisk Nice. From an ex Chrome Fanboy Edge is the best.
@@AZisk Glad to hear it. Edge runs so smooth on my laptop, and I have never looked back. My mac friends even use Edge lol.
Those vertical tabs are the best( brave will have them soon) and bing ai, search, etc additions at sidebar helps for fast searches and other stufff that can be done at the side and sleeping tabs omg ram usage is very good for my 8gb lap
I wonder how safari scores so well. Last month I tried safari for two days and I had to switch back to chrome. It honestly felt slower. Is it only me?
are you using it on a Mac? If so, it shouldn’t be slow
@@mario_luis_dev Safari is only for mac right? If i’m not mistaken. I am on M1 Macbook Air. 16gb RAM model. Safari is noticeably slower. ☹️
Out of UI familiarity and knowing how to get my Javascript and web extensions to work, I use Safari for everything. I don't aim for speed, I aim for things to work.
I use Edge and Safari with Chrome for college
In my browser tests Firefox scores some 30% lower that Chrome or Edge..
Firefox, Brave, and MS Edge are the best choices nowadays. I prefer Edge for all the perks at the cost of my data. Example: Cashback, immersive reader, tab RAM time limiter, and price tracker for goods on the internet. I can even create an app for my favorite websites.
oh! My eyes. Could have used dark mode. 😅
I tested here in my MacBook Air m2 16g 15inch.
Results: safari=426 OK, brave=428 yeah, chrome=465 WOW, edge=176 LOL, Firefox=380.
I stopped using Chrome last year but I’m not a web dev. Chrome is just unsecure and is still ram heavy.
Is this topic still relevant today? I'm using Safari for personal use, Chrome for work. If I'm on Windows, Edge (another chrome)
For some web applications, yes.
hey, edge ?
edge is great, but this was before I started using it. Love it now
I’ve never heard of Sizi(?) before. If I did webdev, that would probably be an awesome tool in the same way iOS simulator is for xCode
opera?
love m1 max
In 2023 the best all round browser is Microsoft Edge. No one wants to admit it because of the memes about internet explorer but it is the truth.
edge is pretty great
I believe those results are benchmarking only, Safari is never faster on actual websites than Chrome.
