- Today we review the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Gold Label Tim Drake Robin action figure. This is the Red suit version. The regular classic green and red will be out at some point in the future.

The original green and red Tim Drake costume is my favorite superhero costume of all time, can't wait for the repaint.
👍Repaint, indeed!😁
Totally agree!
It is a great look
It’s my favorite too
when you think we will actually get it?
I really wish he made separate arms for this Robin. Like dude, this was the main version I was waiting for 😒
I've been really advocating that McFarlane do some reuse for all the unique sculpting they do. But if it works. This is the first time I'll say a slop decision for a repaint. Sculpt is just waaaay too specific. He'll be a great classic colorway
Don't forget the new 52 superman he did with the painted over the boots red tips.
@@theextracrispycolonel9504 oh yeah that rebirth superman. They could’ve easily done what they did with bizarro lol
@@morkymoose9590 And yet they didn't.
So disappointed this isn't an exact recreation of the card art. That's my personal favorite Robin suit.
This is the one I want as I grew up with the magazine figurine collection which had this outfit
Oh of my all time favorite Robin costumes as it harkens back to the animated Tim Drake suit. Only that one had short sleeves. The shoulders are the only miss here for me but not a deal breaker. An arm swap wouldn't be too hard if we could match the red.
I can't wait for this, i've been waiting for a robin figure that isn't Damien
Dude, neat you got this early. Hopefully this hits Amazon soon
Nice detective work my dude. You made World Greatest Detective proud.
You know, we didn’t see it often in the comics but I would have liked to seen Tim Drake’s red Robin costume. The one he wore before when he was with Batman and before he formed the new 52 teen titans. It’s basically this costume except the black trunks are gone. I really liked how it looked.
I don't mind repaints as I know McFarlane needs to make up some money for all the unique sculpts they're putting out, but the arms really are an eyesore for this one. Hope they just used arms of other figures like the GK Robin, or the Red Robin minus the pouches as they just look like they were glued and not sculpted on the arms.
Can’t wait for a 90s(ish) Tim Drake Robin. Love your videos, Brad. Thanks!!
Passing on this and waiting for the regular release, been waiting for a classic Robin on this line for so long
Nice figure! Love the sculpt on this. Think i'll get this one and the 90s repaint.
So much better than the new 52 one he's done, he's going on the Christmas list haha
Pretty Cool! I’ve always liked Robin!
Yes him and the regular arkham red hood are the figures I've been waiting for
I am so stoked for the regular version of this robin!
Excellent video. Which Batman figure appears in the minute 5:49?
I also want to know
@@antmaster360 In the comments below, the answer is there. Batman Rebirth DC collectibles head and Mcfarlane's Batman Hush body.
Looking forward to the 90s repaint 👍
Now give us Knightfall era blue and yellow Nightwing
Didn't the MAFEX waist socket break on your Aquaman?
The robin design is amazing for the sculpt, the colors composition kinda reminds us with The Avengers 😆
Nice looking Robin! Im waiting for the classic Tim Drake Robin as well!
I was just wondering where did you get the Batman figure on the right at 3:02, as well as the Batman on the right at 3:05? Sorry I'm still new to McFarlane toys and I'm not really familiar with all the releases, thank you so much!
Nowadays, Todd always releases the variant Gold Label first before releaseing the classic or regular version. I do want both versions though.
That arms are just pure laziness. They could've used a lot of blank arms that were used before for Batman, Nightwing, even Superman. Specially in the shoulder area.
I can’t wait for the regular release. I’m all over that.
Was really excited for this since it’s one of my favorite Robin suits, but the arms look off and he’s way bigger than he should be.
Excellent one.👍⚡
Great review Brad, I'm 100% sure if I see this figure in person that I'll pick him up, but I don't feel a need to preorder him or search desperately for him, it'll just be a nice surprise when and if he pops up somewhere. I saw the McFarlane Ghost Maker figure today at Walmart, the painted and unpainted platinum versions, I have no idea who that character is despite being a huge DC fan, haha. The figure looked pretty cool, but I passed on it, definitely do not need to be picking up figures of characters I have zero interest in or even know who they are just because they look neat, too many more important figures to buy in the future!
I'm planning to paint the shoulder/upper arm (sleeved) area black, so the red mid-arm looks like an UnderArmor-type sleeve. Not comic-accurate, but it'll break up the red pretty well.
Dope review B…. Thx
How did you make that custom Batman in the thumbnail?
Maybe it's not classic Tim Drake's look, but I like him, a lot!
3:02 what are the legs you used for the batman on the right, and also what head
Will wait for the regular version. I find the red too bright and really don't like the armored torso (that's clearly meant for another costume) for this particular suit.
Man that cape looks like a reuse from one of the Batmans
Red and Green robin coming into Gold Label 100% sure.
im picking this figure up and doing some repaints of my own. I have a feeling that the Classic Tim Drake suit is going to be in that rumored Bat Family 5-Pack and it's gonna be expensive as hell just for one figure.
Kinda crazy the 5 pack wasn't that expensive but good thing he wasn't in it
I know this is a Robin video... But is that a custom Batman on the thumbnail? It looks awesome
AMAZING!!
Hi Brad.I just watch your Tim Drake tutorial 👍👍👍,Awesome job.I have a question?wasn't that Hash Batman?if so, how did you do the head change?Ty and keep up the good work.
Have you done a video on the new super powers and your thoughts yet. I've enjoyed your videos since dcuc and how you always go back to kenner super powers. Just interested in your opinions
When is this coming out?? Definitely going to grab this one!!
Damn I got marvel universe (3 3/4) figures with better ab crunch then this agreed he really needs to tackle this problem cus that’s what it is a problem. We shouldn’t have to take a fig apart to modify it I love Todd but he needs to step it up on that front .✌️Brad keep it up
this can be a good place holder for rebirth
love the review!!! how were you able to get your hands on this?? I tried looking it up on Amazon but i can’t find it, plz help!
I love that suit but not so much on that sculpt lol. So I kinda want it. But those sleeves are an eye sore non with that paint job.
I would LOVE a Neal Adams-style Tim Drake Robin from McFarlane, instead.
I hope Mafex does the classic Tim Drake Robin in the red/black/green outfit
I got to own him in my collection
Thanks for the review the shoulders really bother me lol
I'm fine with the new 52 one.
Just make the sleeves black. They were black in the animated series it's based on.
We just need a more younger teen Robin without going the Damian route with the poor ball joint hips and one part torso.
The extra detailing on the chest look to be from the Arkham city robin suit
At 3:03 mark What head is the Batman on the right from?
Do you have a link about that batman custom from the thumbnail?
Where'd ya get it... how much did you get ripped off:)!
JESUS THAT'S YOUR NOSE SQUEAKING🤣... I thought I had a mouse in my car!
One Year Later is my fav Tim Drake costume! How'd you get this guy so fast? Can't find him anywhere.
need that custom batman
I wish Todd would just give us the classic costumes and stop with the whole body armor thing
I am kinda curious what it would look like if you swap the upper arms with the rebirth flash the color seem to match pretty well
How’d you get those Batman heads?
which batman model is the one on the right at 3:02?
Woah you got early dude
Which Batman is that ? Is that the hush Batman ?
So the new 52 tim drake is not the original release?
whats the recipe for the batman with a brown belt at 3:03?
can you do a all the villains and heros todd has done
What cape does the Gotham Knights Robin have?
3:02 which batman figure is on the right???
hey brad, how does the red's match between robin and the rebirth flash? i have extra upper arms from my kid flash custom that i think would fit with robin and fix his sleeve issue
I wouldn't know cause I don't have either figure but I think it looks a lot more orange than flash
@@yoboiandrew5845 true, but always gotta consider the colour correction and proper lighting in the videos youre watching, I've bought so many figures that look so much duller in my room than they do in the videos I watch lol
Already happening with the original Tim Drake costume.
This Tim Drake figure is pretty chumky.
Does anyone know what figure the batman is on the right hand side, for the first comparison he done?
Its a custom figure using the Three Jokers Batman and a Mattel belt.
@@robdtoys thanks bud👌
I'm pissed that this is a Gold Label this is my favorite Robin suit ever and I'm probably never gonna get him.
He's Amazon gold.label he's gonna be dumb easy to get
Terrible paint on the eyes, thought the sculpt was just strange until I looked harder. Still gonna get it and repaint looks good aside from that!
How did you get him?
Looks like a fun figure, if also a shittily painted one. And isn’t fun what it’s really all about? And not shittily, if that’s even a word? I don’t know. But if you do a review of a bagel, let me know. I like bagels.
I think I can fudge him into a 6in collection.
Really, really don't understand why McFarlane includes those cards/pics with source artwork and then proceeds to just ignore it in sometimes minor, sometimes major ways. Example: the red in which this is molded seems too light/bright compared to the art shown here and elsewhere where it was at least somewhat more toward the "crimson" end of the red spectrum. I get when they want to reuse a mold. Okay. But when it's just about matching a color (or on other figs, just getting the right paint in the right places), why not do it right? Generally would add little or nothing to the cost.
That head sculpt is awful IMO. And I am at this point convinced that there's a global conspiracy preventing classic green & red/with stylized single "R"/quintessential 90s Tim Drake from being made
Why did McFarlane make Robin's legs proportional? Legs on all McFarlane figs are off imo.
How did you fix the mouth on that hush Batman?
It's a DC Essentials Batman head from DC Direct.
@@robdtoys oh cool thanks
This is a very odd choice for the first US Amazon Gold Label exclusive.
The headsculpt is 🤢 looks like he’s first learning how to put on makeup or he’s a stiff at the morgue. It has the Zoolander pout face 😂
todd is famous for his original sculpts, but this isn't it. i don't know what he is basing this sculpt on
Does anyone know a good arm swap for him?
I got to disagree on the thigh cut: that's a very ugly point of articulation and it's rarely well-executed without destroying the aesthetic of the legs.
Whats wrong?? They copy this version base on card..
No thigh cuts please lawd
RAD
Knees are hideous unfortunately
Why defend this monstrosity
So damn lazy on McFarlanes part...mega pass
