How things have changed !! I remember the days when I used to run my own guitar repair shop in Paris ( I moved to Miami many years ago and did the same thing ) Harley Bentons were a common joke among my customers... Especially the cheap strat copies 😄 they were TERRIBLE... The Teles were...Less bad... And then everything changed... I own 146 instruments including many vintage guitars that I have gathered over the years and lots of Squiers and Epiphones but the Harley Bentons are so amazing I have bought 11 so far...And so affordable...The latest one is the DC-60 SG-Junior style... It's amazing...It feels like a $600 guitar...And I know guitars 😁
I would assume that it was not just Harley Benton but most cheap guitars in general. I won't get tired of saying this: budget guitars are not what they used to be. Now days you can get a solid instrument under 250 bucks (solid enough to get the groove going). Back in the day: Not a chance. buddy,
Same here... In fact I don't need other guitars on stage, and that's also a point, nowadays you can't afford it to play in a pub and take your '62 strat, it won't be there anymore after a break, unless you sit on it.
@@dickgitaar2012 You're so right...In my life I've heard THOUSANDS of stories like these...I mean, I am not just a guitar tech I am also a guitar player and collector and I understand being so attached to your favorite vintage strat or Tele or Les Paul or whatever that you need it in your hands but at some point people should ask themselves what's more important ? Delivering a great performance using a high-quality affordable guitar or delivering a great performance and having your '62 strat stolen like you said ?? I'm perfectly fine using my Harley Bentons on stage ( with a few mods ) and leaving my prized vintage guitars at home or in the studio where I can look at them at all times...
Great guitar. And great playing!! I love the way you play that thing. Harley Benton has come a long way - and their guitars are about as good as you can get these days, in that budget range. I love them! And this one does not disappoint. Beautiful. Love the biding. I really love the blue one too. Subbed you.
Still a lot of fret buzz while playing I noticed! I have the Blackface T52 HB and love it, after having it Plek'd it now plays well too, just very heavy, 10lb??? but the buzz is there on all HB Tele's
Nice playing ,i`m thinking of buying one of these 60`s H.B Telecasters myself ,mainly because they have a bound body and they`re around £200 cheaper than the Squier classic vibe ,i have a Squier bullet Tele and it would be interesting to see how these compare ,any points worth mentioning?.
thank you! I'm not a Harley Benton fan but I wanted to try them and the color made me decide to buy it. the materials are the same as those of a squier but it costs less and in my opinion it sounds much better.
I have the Squier CV 60s Custom here and had the not double bound TE62 to compare. There is no question that the Squier is in another league - Neck is totally (!) different, much lighter and overall quality was better. I did an Unboxing Video of them on YT and a Setup Video on the TE62 which also had a faulty Switch and lose Tuners. But maybe the DB is different?
@@Worlds_Worst_Guitarist I understand why Squier copies sell more as they are a Fender feel and sound closer if not as good as [ classic vibe] the Fender stamped ,i have a Squier Simon Neil fiesta red Strat i bought in 2009 when they first came out and it matches the previous Mexican standard in quality ,the only problem with cheaper guitars is it isn`t worth having them re fretted as the cost of that can be more than the instrument is worth so i just sell them on.
@@Worlds_Worst_Guitarist i had seen a squier classic vibe 60 in candy tangerine with double binding from anderthons in the U.K. which would have cost me about 450 euros ... when I saw this HB tele in candy apple red with DB I compared the materials and they are practically the same! I would have changed the pick up in the squier by putting some fender CS with an additional expensive 200 euros, to have a squier with a better sound, but always a squier with a total cost of 650 euros !!! in this way I can put the pickups on the HB and with a total cost of 350 I would have the same result! I'm not a fan of the HB, it is the first I buy, I would not go in concert with a squier, nor with a HB, but if I want to take away a whim better HB. I must admit that I had to do a long setup, crooked neck, saddles too low and hard pots, but the neck is toasted and the fretboard even if in laurel like the squier is much better, darker and less dry ... in conclusion the HB is more likely to have control defects, but otherwise there is little difference. I would recommend you to try it!

I bought both black and candy apple red, with laurel Fingerboard. Out of the box i love the setup (high actcion is my pretty like) Awesome guitars although far away from classic vibes. However, they're quite over the price, the neck is meant to be loved, the finish can't get any better and it brings 10-46 gauge which is great....the only thing i don't like is the sharp high cuts on the bridge pickup, i have to turn the tone knob down to 9 or 10 to avoid that ultra-sharp high tone and it works fine that way. The overall tone is really rich. Don't expect a wide dynamic range like a fender or a classic vibe, but good cleans anyway. The good point is when you play high gain tones, the work even better than fender in a certain way, the output is great. Not a heavy load, they're to light due to poplar buildin'. This guitar is worth it for sure. how do you find the bridge pickup????...didn't you find it too too too sharp?
