Lovely video! Inspired me with great ideas. We'll be visiting Keswick early next month and planning a launch/walk around the lake. Thinking of taking the launch from Keswick to Mary Mount then walking to Lodore Falls and a pint along the shore at Mary Mount before walking on to one of the next launch stops. Your video gave me some ideas. Any further suggestions? CHEERS!
I'm not so familiar with the launch stops but from memory Lodore Falls is the last stop on the east side of the lake. Therefore, the next stop is the first on the west side, which is a reasonable walk in distance. Unfortunately, this time of year the footpath directly across the bottom of the lake is often underwater, so you might have to walk along the road to the bridge at Grange (good cafe here, that also sells beer!). From Grange the road is generally quiet and with a good map you should be able to find the launch stop easily enough. Hope you have a great day, cheers!
Yes, I did create the route myself as I've spent many years exploring in the Lake District and I did not really need a map for this walk. If you view the description of the video you will find quite a full description which should provide enough info for you to follow the route on a map. Personally, I would have had Harvey's Ultramap XT40 as a back-up in my pocket as they are so convenient and easy to carry. I also happen to know in the OS series it's ref OL4 for Derwent Water. For info I do have the Hikker app on my phone, which does help sometimes with having the precise location of where I am. Hope the info in the description is sufficient for your needs, if you need further info, happy to help with further queries or questions.

Nice video Nigel - one for my to do list with a bit of planning. You were lucky with such a clear calm day, would be nice if you could bottle that.
Yes would be great to bottle a Lakeland day and save for later👍🏼 thanks for watching.

@AmblingTrails thank you so much. I do have hiker & OS on my phone. I'm staying up there in the first few days of October, a little trip by myself.
