If you dont have a welding machine, it is not simple to build this hacksaw. To take a gear from an old angle grinder is a very good idea. For distancing of the connecting rod between drive wheel and saw frame I had made spacers from pipe, instead of so much washers. To use an old electric hand drill for drive ist a vey good idea too.

Perfecto... pero, para que no vibre mucho, te recomiendo colocar en el brazo articulado; el motriz cambiarlo en vez de platina, un "volante" mas pesado, con contrapeso al extemo, de diametro similar al largo de tu platina, es mas, en el "volante" se le puede colocar una ranura radial para que puedas regular la "carrera".

There are a lot of mechanisms which have a fast movement in one direction and a slower one in the other. Might be of interest since there is no need to have the sawing motion which is doing all the work as fast as the other one in my eyes.

holly crap how big is that linear rail and what are they called. im only used to the smaller mgn12 and mgn9 rails an blocks but the one on this thing is huge. what is that even used for. industrial manchine i assume but i always figured the bigger machines all used ways like on a lathe or something. ive never been around anything like that but have slowly been getting machines to learn on. ive gotten a lathe an mill at this point, nothing big but big enough to learn on.

Idea is gr8 but drill machine requires a proper support otherwise it will start wobbling after a regular usage.

Параша. Объясню почему. В нормальном случае, заводского исполнения, когда станок придуман не курильщиками, а трезвыми людьми на время обратного хода полотно ПОДНИМАЕТСЯ на пару миллиметров от заготовки, чтобы не изнашивались зубья этого полотна. К тому же скорость очень важна - это слишком быстро, надо медленнее.
