The ‘ice picky’ brightness is at least in part due to the fact that ships with 500k pots rather than the more conventional 250k you’d associate with single coils. As you demonstrate in your demo, this is why tone knobs. 😊
Eric Gales is a player and a half! This guitar looks superb, too. I tried a Magneto guitar very similar to this one on Denmark Street when I was there last year. Felt and played as well as, if not better than, the American Strats I've played!
I think it was 2014 I was at the Experience Hendrix Tour (Eric was in the line up) at the Holiday Star theater in Merrillville Indiana (which sadly has been torn down). I can't remember who is playing at the time but a friend and I thought it was a good time to go grab a beer. Going to the beer stand outside the theater there was absolutely nobody around, except for one guy leaning up against the wall enjoying a beer of his own. My friend says THAT'S ERIC GALES! Sure enough he was right. We got our beer and stood there and talked to him for 5 minutes or so. Not only is he a killer player, he's also a real nice down to earth guy. \m/

When Andy commented on the solid-feeling jack socket, I wondered if it might be a Pure Tone one, and at 13:40, this was confirmed. I've fitted Pure Tone jack sockets to all my electric guitars. They connect with the jack plug very securely, and have my personal recommendation.

Gales played a "99-cent" show at a small venue I was working at back in 1990 or '91, not very known and a small crowd so I got to actually enjoy the show. The people who actually did show up got their minds blown, he was amazing from soundcheck to finale.

I had a Magneto US-1200, which I sold to purchase a Fender Stratocaster. And I still regret my Magneto. I'm looking to buy a new one, and the Eric Gales signature. Magneto is a great underrated brand.
Sometimes you just want to play that super gritty/somehow also weirdly polished Eric Gales upbeat modern blues (is that enough adjectives for a gear comment?) and this kind of seems perfect for that. Very happy they went with a 12" radius too.
Very cool. Not my style particularly, but it looks like you get a lot of guitar for the money. It sounds great. I find myself not fast forwarding through your playing demos because you don’t end up playing the same ol’ “signature licks” in every video. Thank you for that.👍
I use golden pickguards on all of my Strats, Mexican, USA, even on the 400 - 500 euro Squiers. Even my 2006 Gibson SG has a golden etched batwing pickguard, I like this one a lot but the headstock shape is the only con for me personally since I'm used to the Fender shape, but it's just cosmetical stuff nonetheless. As long it plays good, no sharp fret ends, and a nice neck (I prefer satin) I'm cool with it.
Is the scratchplate a standard Strat size? It would be the first thing i'd change. Not keen on the mirror finish, too reflective especially for the audience.
Bigtime there’s no way I’d ever buy a guitar with someone else’s name on the fretboard. I don’t like anyone’s name on a guitar period more less the damn fretboard.
I just got a '22 MIM classic vibe with the sticker still on the input jack and a case at a pawn shop for the equivalent of $250USD by trading 2 cheap guitars for a PRS (guy didn't know what it was) that had a chip on the headstock, then the PRS for the Strat
The late and amazingly talented Karl Wallinger from World Party played the guitar the same way. Remember seeing him live when I was learning guitar and just being utterly confused.

The frets felt absolutely fine, it’s one of the most playable guitars I have. They may not be pretty fret ends (I do enjoy the look of a nice rounded end) but they had zero effect on the feel.

If the switch or the pots went down during a paying gig, the club owner would be pissed if I couldn't finish the show. It sounds like that guitar company is giving you the product or paying you to do the video and you don't want to point out the economy electronics. I did set up and guitar repair work when I was 15 years old. I did that for 30 years. Now I just work on my electric and acoustic guitar as needed. Know your gear

Dick Dale played the strings upside down like that as well. The up strum sound you hear in surf music was his down strum.

SNOT needed in the control cavity but it IS needed in the pickup cavities, where it is missing on this guitar. Why can't people get this right?

"Very weird" doyle brahamhall ii, jimi hendrix, eric gales.... all play this way. Mono neon does so with bass i believe. So its unique for sure!
Hendrix played a right handed strat as a lefty , but he strung it the normal way!
