If any of the gorosei fought 1v1 against a yonko they would lose. In fact I don't believe the gorosei are actually that physically powerful. I would say the gorosei are vice admiral level at most in terms of strength. What makes them truly powerful is their position at the top of the world government. Also the reason the world government doesn't order the marines to attack a yonko base is because the reward would not be enough to account for the losses.

Smoker and Tashigi have both been built up from the start to perhaps have a role in restoring the sense of true justice in the Navy and among the Marines. However, beyond that, I hope that as individuals they will return and become more prominent in the story. Those two are very reoccurring and amazing characters with so much potential in my opinion, they deserve to have that potential discovered.

I never put it together until this scene that Smoker is genuinely one of the most honorable marines. Unlike Morgan who would kill a kid for feeding a prisoner a rice ball, Smoker doesn’t even try hurting the kid who dropped ice cream on him. That, and he seems to start as one of those hateable protagonists because he tries to murder Luffy, but you realize upon after escaping Crocodile's underwater death trap that he lets Luffy go simply because he is honorable enough to see how he got saved by a criminal and takes advantage of it. And this scene is just icing on the cake.

I really couldn't imagine the world population of what we have been shown to be much higher than BEING CHARITABLE the high millions.

2年前まで主役級だったスモやん…次再登場する時は言葉で言い表せないくらい強くなってて
I never put it together until this scene that Smoker is genuinely one of the most honorable marines. Unlike Morgan who would kill a kid for feeding a prisoner a rice ball, Smoker doesn’t even try hurting the kid who dropped ice cream on him. That, and he seems to start as one of those hateable protagonists because he tries to murder Luffy, but you realize upon after escaping Crocodile's underwater death trap that he lets Luffy go simply because he is honorable enough to see how he got saved by a criminal and takes advantage of it. And this scene is just icing on the cake.
And that completely changes the way we looked at Smoker.

She told Smoker to not say all that stuff but was actually thinking "That's my man".
This was, is, and will always be my favorite smoker moment!

I feel like Smoker is to Luffy like Garp is to Roger. High respect and trustworthiness.

I don't think Smoker-Luffy relationship can be compared to Garp-Roger, but I do believe that when the last big war will come (imo Luffy representing free will vs the corrupted dictator World Gov.) marines who believe in true justice like Smoker, Fujitora, Garp and Kobi are going to at least defend Luffy if not even ally with him to open up space for a new world.
