Bought one for my Kioti DK4510, 45hp diesel at about 5k lbs with loaded tires. I got a 66". I just gave it full days workout, all my tractor could put on it and then some and its working great.
Even pulled 3-4 stumps with it a couple I was pretty impressed at, especially the grip it got on those stumps and on the ends of fallen trees to drag them out of the woods. I think my loader will break before the grapple, if it was going to bend I would have bent it.

Is wider better than narrow? Cant decide on width. I have a 4 series Deere with 460 loader. Loader is rated at 1800 lbs.
Most who really know grapples say that a narrow grapple is capable of doing what a wider one can do. Also, narrow is lighter and more maneuverable.

What size should I get for Kubota L3301single lid for dual? Thanks
Single vs dual lid has about as much to do with personal preference as it does functionality. The single lid pics submitted by customers are impressive to say the least, but there are some situations where dual gets my vote. Dual lids clamp extremely awkward loads more efficiently and will grab loose material like firewood better.

You've done a lot of thinking on most aspects but I think you're wrong on not putting expanded metal on the back of the grapple to protect the tractor grill. You stated you like to see what you're getting into. Now I'm speaking from a lot of experience. First of all, the shoes of your quick attach loader cover two of the openings. You can't see through them because they're covered anyhow. Then you can't see through the openings between the two loader shoes because the tractor hood hides those openings and you have no idea what's coming through. Those slats of yours are too far apart to prevent two inch branches from coming through. I took 1/4 inch solid plates of mild steel welded in to plug my center openings. Then , like you, I left the two outside openings open so I could see the two outside corners of the bottom teeth and keep them on the ground when I'm approaching my brush.
This works great. Not a branch through ever. I also added a grill insert to the tractor bumper to protect the grill when I "belly up" to a tall brush pile with the grapple raised.
