Thanks for the recipe. Pineapple/ahi lemon drop is one of my favorite flavor combinations ever (makes the best smoothies) gonna have to try it like this!

will try! I'd recommend trying candied peppers too: same mass of water and sugar, simmer and mix. Add peppers and simmer 5 mins, daily for a week (and cover for the rest of the day). You can dehydrate them slightly in a warm oven then deep the peppers in melted black chocolate. Yummy, kicky surprise. Probably not with reapers... Use the sirup on something else afterwards (cake?), it has a great flavor ^^
Nice idea - we did do some candied jalapenos last year that came out great (and made a video on it). Added some allspice and it worked surprisingly well. Sweet and spicy just works so well together.
Is it okay to use powdered chili if there is no available fresh chilies? Also, with regards to dehydrating in the fridge, were should we put it? Can we leave it on the silicone mold? I'd love to try this one and share it with my friends. 🙂
Hey there - You can definitely use powdered chili. Just blend it up with water the same way you would with fresh chilies to make your "pepper juice". Be sure to strain it after. As far as dehydrating, you will want to remove them from the silicone molds so air can reach all sides. I recommend placing them on a small cutting board in the fridge, and you can cover them with an upside-down colander that has holes in it. Hope this helps!
Hi Mark - To make the gummies spicer you will want to use hotter peppers. Peppers fresh from the farm or garden are typically hotter than those you will find at the grocery store. You could make this recipe with ghost peppers or even reapers. You could add a few more peppers as well, but keep the water amount the same. (Be sure to strain the mixture.) Your best bet would be to use spicer pods though.
I made it this evening but mine was really thick not as runny as yours. After an hour it still came out like a blob and just fell apart, from the fridge. Back to the drawing board for me lol
@@markbsb7176 Oh no! So sorry to hear. Gelatine is touchy and the heating process is very important for consistency. Good luck, if you decide to try again!
i was wondering. me and a friend who lives across the country like to torture each other with gifts. with this survive shipping or does it need to stay cooled?
Can’t say for sure, but if it were me - I would make sure they were dehydrated/air dried enough, then seal them in an airtight baggie for shipment and consume within a couple weeks.
We have not tried this. If do you try, please let us know how they come out! (I would advise being careful when heating the alcohol mixture. Use a lower heat, avoid boiling, and wear a mask to protect yourself from fumes.) Your other option would be to make the spicy gummy bears as normal, let them dehydrate a couple days, then soak them overnight in the booze. (They will be sticky and require a spoon or toothpick to serve though!)

Hello - Those who wish to make vegan gummies can do so with Agar Agar powder. (Please note that some people are stomach sensitive to this ingredient.) We have not tried this but this is the ratio I would recommend: 1/2 cup "hot pepper juice" (4 hot peppers blended and strained in 100% fruit juice of choice such as mango or apple) 1 teaspoon Agar Agar powder (not the flaked version) 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup Bring to simmer over medium heat, stirring for a couple of minutes until the agar powder has completely dissolved and the mixture begins to thicken - being careful not to overcook as it will get grainy. Allow cooling before putting them in the molds. Good luck! Perhaps we will experiment with some other hot pepper candy recipes in the near future :)
I do appreciate a firm gummy. Great idea, folks. While I've not made these before, I could see them doing well with mango flavor!

Could you use toothpick to get bubbles out? Just a thought. Love this! My kids will love this!! Thanks fellow Pepper Peeps!!
creme bulee torch will get rid of them if you whip over it a couple of times. You do the same thing with epoxy
Looks like I need to get sums gummie bear trays 😊
That's great! I'm doing this!
Awesome video I tried this recipe and it was a success I used ghost peppers they were hot😂
Glad your ghost pepper gummies were a success!
These things are SO addicting.
❤I will be making these, thank you
Kinda surprised no one’s brought this up but I’m assuming you could use a fermented pepper brine in place of the “pepper juice” yea?
I don't see why not!
Can i use fruit juice instead of jello?
Can you make them with carolina reaper powder or the exstract?
that so cool thanks for this video!

If I want it more spicy do I add less water or more peppers? What would the ratio be?

are these shelf stable? or do i have to keep them in the fridge?
also when using say cherry jello does the lime/lemon juice stand out?
Rate the spiciness
These are pretty mild, maybe a 2/10
Can water be substituted with vodka easily ?

maybe quarter cup water/pepper mix and quarter cup vodka once off the heat?
As she said be careful heating it and also consider alcohol boils at a lower temp (around 173°F) so u may end up evaporating it in the process

Couldn't get fresh reapers but could I use dried ones?
Sure, you can rehydrate dried peppers pretty quickly in hot water.
Do you have a recipe that doesnt use pork?
