  • Cisco DNA Center is a topic that appears on the newly announced CCNA 200-301 exam (to be released Feb. 24, 2020). At the time of this recording, Cisco's DevNet Sandbox makes a couple of Cisco DNA Servers available for you to explore for free (without needing to set up a VPN connection). One server gives you read-write access, while the other gives you read-only access. Below are the links and login credentials:

    Well done Kevin. This is the pitch that well resonate with the CXO level. I imagine several SEs are going to use this one. Well done.

    Is DNA Center CLOUD even an option? Cisco seems so far in the weeds when it comes to simple cloud based management. I used ExtremeCloud IQ for a short time recently and love the free cloud based service. I wish the customer would have stayed with Extreme Networks because they have the right idea! Cisco is so complicated and unorganized I don't think they have long term viability unless MAJOR changes occur.

    Great Video Kevin.
    Thanks for share your knowledge.
    I would like to know if you have deployed a DNA Center OVA for lab purpose and share the community the steps that need to follow.
    Regards.

    One question, can you track non-cisco devices like UP status through a ping? Let's say I want to monitor the status of a bunch of switchs non-cisco. Can I use DNA center's programability to check on those nodes every 5 minutes and if a ping replies show an OK status?

    DNA Center looks to be a conglomeration of Cisco Prime Infrastructure and APIC-EM.

    Could you please go into how the DNA cloud solution works in another video?
    Here it's clear, I buy an appliance and run the center on it. What do I have to do with the cloud version?
    Thanks!

    Hi Kevin, how do you configure a switch in Cisco DNA? Let's say you want to assign VLANs to one switch ports, how you do that?

    • @palahboy
      @palahboy 4 года назад

      You no longer assign vlan but rather assign IP pools in Host Onboarding option of DNAC.

    I bought 4 cisco 9300 and they force me to buy a Cisco DNA premier license, but how do a use? There is a cloud DNA service? A virtual appliance for VMware? or only a physical server?

    • @btasty1981
      @btasty1981 3 года назад

      I believe either the physical DNA Center appliance(s) are required or the cloud DNA service to use the capabilities of the DNA licenses.
      FYI, while you do have to buy a DNA license, you do not have to use those capabilities. Yes, that license does add benefits if you have a DNA Center appliance but using the additional DNA license features is not required for the switch to operate. Also, you are not required to buy the premier license. If you aren't going to use the features of the DNA license, buy the cheaper DNA license (Advantage or Essentials).
