In the US we refer to this type of “r” sound as “rolling your r.” Of course, English doesn’t use a rolled r, but many other languages do. I can only do it if I am consciously trying to make the sound by itself, but not within a word where I have to move to another sound immediately following. It’s frustrating, but I will keep trying. I’m determined to get it one of these days.
