Gotta admit that this new offering from Ping looks pretty sweet! Definitely sounds more muted as well however, the G425 max is the best driver I have ever hit and other then sound, I’m sure the performance is relatively similar. Will have to wait two years for the price to come down to warrant a change. Cheers for the great content as always Al!
My brother just had these come in (he's a fitter) and he is loving it. Said he's probably going to have to get one and throw it in his bag. He saw a gain in distance and more importantly, a substantial gain in consistency and a reduction in spread. I'm excited to try one out as well, good video!!
I was fitted at Cool Clubs this summer. I hit the Ping G425 better than other driver, so stayed with Ping. They changed my driver shaft, but said I might as well save money and stay with my G400 head, which they considered to be just as good. Think I’ll see if the G430 is better.
Would you be so kind to do a head to head test again the Titleist TSR? Would be great to see how the Ping is performing against the top driver of this moment the Titleist TSR
@@flogrown2014 totally disagree, had a titleist fitting on Tuesday really wanting to love the TSR because the looks are unbeatable and it’s a titleist.. figured I’d hedge my bet with a ping fitting Thursday. G430 for me was so much better, so much more consistent, easy and FUN to hit, super forgiving. But that wasn’t enough because I still wanted the titleist so I had a third fitting on Friday where I specifically put the g430 and TSR head to head and across the board from the driver to the fairways to o the hybrids ping out performed. Totally changed my mind and I bought the pings on the spot at the Friday fitting. (This was 3 different days, 3 different fitters, one titleist one ping one independent)
@@HEAVYA2MS well your the one in 100. At my shop the speeds, distance, and accuracy have all been better with tsr. Especially when paired with a ventus shaft.
@@flogrown2014 on the most optimal strikes I wouldn't disagree, I also observed the same pattern but the great separator was on mishits, there is no question that PING is grounded in forgiveness, what they've done with the g430 is managed to preserve the forgiveness of the prior generations while fine tuning the engineering so that on optimal strikes the drop-off between the ping and say the rogue or tsr or sim2 weren't as disparate. You're sacrificing less for the forgiveness (not saying you're not sacrificing anything). If I was entering a 10 shot best launch conditions contest id have picked the titleist - but I'm sure you can agree one of the most important things to have going into a fitting is a clear idea of what you want. I wasn't looking for a bomber I was looking for a fairway finder and for me and my game, I found what I was looking for thanks to the great work of both reps and a very good fitter.
I love my G425 w/ the Tensi shaft. I replaced the stock 26g weight w/ 2x 13g weights in the draw & fade position and unless I do something egregious it stays on the course and often finds the fairway. Love the way it looks, love the way it sounds. LOVE the bombs it helps me hit.
I wonder if I can hit this one. I went to a reputable club fitting studio in the uk just after Sim 2 launched. Thought I’d be fitted into a G425 , as every review pointed to it. I could not for the life of me hit the damn thing, multiple shaft tries, big no. Ended up with a sim 2 max d. Fast forward to just after stealth launch and I get the rest of the bag done. Fairway wood time, thought I’ll end up with a stealth 3 or 5 wood, multiple shafts tries and not too bad a result, better than my M2 3wood. Then out came the 425 max 5 wood turned down to 4 with the best performing shaft from out of the stealth test, out performs the M2, consistently straight and a good distance, even I knew we didn’t have to try anything else. 425 in the bag. How the hell golf clubs and fitting works I’ll never know, some sort of voodoo magic.
im telling you!!! best driver ever! i went to golftown the last few days and tried a bunch of their clubs. did the paradym, rogue, sim2, stealth2, aerobuner or what ever... all sucked for me but this. i hit straight everytime with it. its so forgiving. i wont use another driver but ping ever.

I know this video is a year old but I would love to see it revisited against the G430 10k and both set to Alex Etches Beast Mode! Drop the loft all the way down, weight in the toe (or preferred location) with a shaft to your specs instead of the PX Red. Lets have a forgiving club war....winner take all video.
Al, please take the weight out of the head altogether and hit it again. Just curious as removing the weight on the 425 turned the max into an impromptu LST.

I'll check back in when you can add that, say comparison of Paradym to Rogue; G425 to G430, etc... The CLICKY WHACK sounds better than the usual Ping empty paint can sound. By far.

Oh wow the new Ping Cobra driver, rad!
