If Brinker is already the GM in anything but title why not make him the official GM and go look for a Head of scouting or assistant GM since it sounds like that's what they are looking for.

Amy has put on a masterclass of dysfunction these past few years it’s honestly kind of impressive. Taking a team that was a Super Bowl contender a few short years ago to the #1 pick, what’s supposed to be a teams rock bottom but she’s still showing signs of digging

If Chad Brinker is the one who was allegedly pulling all the strings, then how is he not held more accountable for this roster? So they just propped up Carthon when he was just a puppet to scapegoat. I guess Callahan is gonna be the next scapegoat

For some of the flaws Bud Adams had as an owner during his tenure interfering at times when it was not necessary in football operations, he wasn't afraid to say when a draft pick was what he instructed to his staff...he did it with Warren Moon, Steve McNair and Vince Young and did not care about the backlash from his staff or fans whether it turned out good or bad...I wish Amy had a 1/4 of that same energy and not just hide a chat GPT press release...

I know it doesn't look like it RN...
But we have some Bright spots.
We have a new stadium on the way...
We have Ridley and Pollard.. who both played well.
      We have young talent with
      Skaronski
      Sweat
      Brownlee jr
      Latham
      Spears
      We had a good defense...
      Just need a QB...
      Less turnovers...
More points scored...we have talent .. we just need a QB.
And I'm not sure Callihan/ Brinker want to risk their jobs on a rookie QB ? Again?
I think they want a vet?
      Think Derrick Carr..
      Kurt cousins...
      Justin Fields
      Aaron Rodgers...
Derrick Carr would be alright actually, I wouldn't mind that. But that's the only one! Other than that I want Ward ..
      But will they take him?

Im out on Amy… she has poor vision and is inept at managing this organization.
      This is fucking pitiful !
You got the number one draft pick to rally around. Why not keep the organization together for one more year and see what happens? See if they start to turn it around…
What I think would be great is if the whole staff and the whole team got together and went to the owners and told them to force Amy out or we don’t have a Titans season next year… it would be great if the staff and the team walked out on the whole thing cause really, why would you want to play for this shit?
Get a new ownership group, new team name, logo, and mascot, and move into the future with new energy !!!!!

I've heard callers on Nashville radio call in to question the team's ownership, and they are almost always talked down to as if to say "how dare you question Ms. Amy!" This team's leadership is erratic and clueless as to how to build a team and the only people locally to ask difficult questions of the team's leadership are a few reporters like PK. I'm sick of the dysfunction. Happy to hear you guys have this honest discussion about the franchise. I'm convinced that the true problem in the organization is that AAS is impatient and emotional in her decisions when things aren't going well and I have no idea what anyone around her (like Burke Nihill) at the highest levels of the organization has done to prove they are worthy of the jobs they hold. During the interview process for BC last year, I recall AAS, Nihill, Carthon, and maybe another name or two as being the ones in those interviews. Carthon isn't there now obviously, but as they interview for the new pseudo-GM, I have NO faith anyone in that room will make a smart decision.
Keep talking about AAS and the team's leadership. It's something that has to be called out. Love the pod guys, and always Titan Up! If you have time, Heed that Call as well!

This half measure is like trying to do a competitive rebuild.. should of fired Callahan.. or go all in clean house and fire Ran, Callahan and Brinker and reset the front office completely.
Instead it feels they are scapegoating Ran who actually made decent decisions as GM (Resign Jeff Simmons, Drafted Latham, Sweat, Brownlee Jr, Skoronski and Spears) but had a bad team record, a poorly developed QB in Levis, a bad offense (Callahan and Holz) and special teams (Anderson).
This smells of a power grab by Chad Brinker and Owner Amy Adams Strunk making an emotional knee jerk reaction. She's worried about demonstrating accountability for poor results.. and yet Callahan at 3-14 with no improvement down the stretch stays? She should fire herself while she's at it and sell the team to someone who can run a functional organisation.

    • @MusicCityAudiblePodcast

Who's gonna want to leave their organization and come to the Titans to be GM when, in reality, they'll just be an assistant?
The biggest problem is AAS, and until she sells the team, nothing that gets done is gonna matter
What are your bets for the head coach next year when Callahan gets fired, and for 2026 when Brinkler and the new GM get the boot?

  • @TomboBrewster

You can question some of the moves by Ran Carthon (Draft and free agency) and the overall record in 2 seasons to justify firing him...sure whatever even if we see GM on other teams being mediocre to bad for a much longer time. But when to try to assassinate his character after being fired is just a low blow...seen it in the corporate world many times and I just smell a full load of baloney by that article. Shows you also how shallow you are as an organization...
But even worse, how do you go out of your way to describe him as such barely a year after you promoted him to a VP position? Didn't you ask those questions when he was part of the 49ers org for MANY YEARS? If he showed some of those traits back then, I can guarantee you the the 49ers would have fired him so fast and would never find a job anywhere in the NFL...Sleeping on a plane after game is laziness??? You bet a lot of players did or coaches after the tank job was this season...
I hope the stars he brought in free agency, for which past regimes had a hard time brining stars in their prime to Tennessee or current players here ask to be traded to send a message to Amy and Chad...Would not be surprised if Ran and Vrabel end up collaborating in New England just out of spite and show what it really the issue with this poverty franchise...
Good luck Amy and Chad, dark days are ahead unless you win the lottery in this draft and win right away...

A lot of things could have happened behind closed doors that hasn’t been made public. Let’s allow the process to play out and let Brinker reset the organization. Brinker will assume the same role as Matt Murphy with the Packers. Murphy isn’t the GM in Green Bay, though a lot of people think that he is because he calls all of the shots.

From all the reporting I’ve read, my conclusion is that Brinker is essentially the real GM and Brinker, himself, likes Callahan and the two of them feel closely aligned. It feels like Carthon was a middle man that they needed to remove. I think this is what the organization is doing to align the front office and the coaching staff. Whoever gets brought in will be a Brinker guy and (hopefully) this team will in lockstep from that point forward. You both should try on these rose colored glasses. They make the Titans experience palatable.

    • @MusicCityAudiblePodcast

  • @dnashj33
    @dnashj33 28 дней назад

Amy should just go ahead and name Brinker the GM and find a new President of Football...BUT, leave him out of the personnel decision making process. That should be between the GM and the HC alone. They made a big mistake in firing a playoff caliber HC in Vrabel, and it seems this firing is an admission of that mistake. I thought Carthon was doing a pretty good job, overall...but had missed big time on Levis and the Right side of the OL. He should have spent some $$ on a competent RT going into the season, because what they had was not going to cut it. Most fans knew this last year.

    • @MusicCityAudiblePodcast
      @MusicCityAudiblePodcast  28 дней назад

We have to redefine our definition of a "GM" because it doesn't mean the same thing here. Firing Carthon is certainly an admission of mistake firing Vrabel.

  • @rossmichael8147
    @rossmichael8147 28 дней назад

I'm like the only person thats into this. The roster is horrible and his free agency last year just felt so lacking in direction. I'm encouraged by Brinker purely because he has a vision, and by Callahan, who I do believe might be able to grow into the role.
I really don't get how firing one person is dysfunctional but instead firing multiple people is somehow good process. You should at this point have a better idea if Callahan and Brinker can work together and what they need to support them, than some random new guy would about a guy he spends 3 hours with in an interview before hiring him.
Will it work? Probably not, most hirings don't regardless of when the people were hired. But if they find better QB play than last year no one will care and they'll have time to give it a shot.

Fire Ran? ok whatever but bring another GM with one hand behind his back making decision to a coaching staff he did not select??? Chad Brinker and Amy, time will tell if you know what you're doing....

I never wanted this to happen, but what softens the blow for me is that it now seems Ran’s “promotion” last year was really a demotion in disguise, as some reports point to him wanting to be out of the building for a few months now. It seems Brinker usurped his position and I can’t hate the idea of an understudy being so good he kicks the original guy out. Maybe he has the chops or was the secret weapon for the draft. He was at the Senior Bowl, Carthon and Cally weren’t, and Brownlee was at the Senior Bowl…

Seems to me Briker is the GM. Ran Carthon was fired because he didn't really do anything anymore when they realized he was in over his head! Maybe Brinker was a big fan of Callaghan and has no plan of replacing him. Leaving Brinker to make final decisions gives them just as much, if not more continuity than with Ran. I just think it may have become a "what would you say ya do here" situation. Why are we paying you?

@ i can’t ..what I’ve learned about the Titans organization 1. They are going to stab each other in the back from the days of malarkey til now.. 2. When the person is fired here comes the smear campaign 3. They don’t clear house so whoever is left over is in survival mode 4. cycle continues…. Sorry love the team(players) but I can’t do the organization

Well all that matters are results and after being the worst team in the NFL someone's head had to roll. IMO I'd have fired Cally and his staff and started from scratch. Let the new regime decide if they want a Qb in this draft. The issue here is if Cally is a dud coach it won't matter who the GM is. Now from Amy's perspective she is spending millions for a shite show. Cally not only stinks as a coach but his choice of STs coach and OC appears to be horrific. They totally mismanaged Levis who regressed. I'm fine with the firing just wish they had cleaned house and let someoen competent work with Brinker. Look, it is really easy for someone like Brinker point out all the failures from his position despite the fact he ws probably part of it. Beg Vrabel to come back.

Amy is a terrible owner!! She has no direction. Back in the good years I used to think she was a good owner because she just sat back and let John Robinson and Vrabel work. I wish she could just crawl back to Vrabel and ask him to come back and be lord dictator over the team

Things worked out when she had a GM/HC in lockstep (Robinson/Vrabel). It's all crumbled since.

So the next GM won't actually be a GM. Pure Titans fashion.
