I love this tutorial and my new little frog 🥺 i crocheted a little party hat for it to wear too 💜💜
That's wonderful! So cute!! So happy to hear you loved it! ❤
I crocheted mine a rain hat and rain boots , he so cute
@@gabepelletier8726 how'd you do that??? I want to do the same to mine lol
I've never seen this kind of construction before. It makes the cutest frog! Ty for the excellent tutorial!
I’m making this as a birthday present for my friend! After I make one I think I’m gunna try and make a rainbow one with multiple colors. I have no idea what I’m doing but it looks really fun 🥰
That sounds awesome! I'm sure your friend is going to love their birthday present!! I'd love to see how the rainbow frog turns out! Feel free to tag me on Instagram if you post it there!
omg, I'm also doing it for my friend's birthday haha good luck!
This is the best tutorial i’ve ever seen, Henry is adorable!
Wow thank you so much! That really means a lot 🥰
I made mine a little shorter than the tutorial and he looks like a bull frog ☺️I love him so much
im in LOVE with this guy! im making a few for myself and some of my friends and its so fun!
Love to hear that!! Thanks so much!! ❤
@@MochaStitch can I do this with a 2.5mm or 3mm hook?
Can I do this with. 2.5mm hook or 3mm hook instead of a 2.75 hook
Yes you can! Your stitches will be slightly looser with a 3mm but it will be very minor! Your frog will be slightly larger too or smaller with the 2.5!
@@MochaStitch Tysm ❤️❤️❤️ this is so helpful! I think I will go with the 3mm because the wool yarn I work with can be delicate and I don’t want it to break when I’m doing the stitches 🙃🙃
This tutorial is clear and perfect for a beginner. Thank you for making it so easy to follow! 😃
Thank you for sharing this adorable pattern!
So adorable and so chuffed with my frog! loved this tutorial, thank you!
So glad you liked it!! ❤❤
@@MochaStitch can I do this with a 2.5 or 3mm hook
i love this pattern, I was a little confused with the back legs but i got it. I made one for my friends birthday and i gave it a little booty cuz i thought she would think it was funny. It turned out really cute
That sounds adorable! I'm sure she loved it! A very meaningful handmade gift 🎁
for rounds 10-18 does The 54 in parentheses mean the totalnumber of stitches We make in those rounds ?
@@annabanana122o yes, the numbers in parntheses represent the number of stitches in each round.
Me too, I'm confused with the back legs, do I start counting 15 SC after the 6 extra SC? Or are the 6sc included with the total 15sc?
I know she said it's not part of the leg pattern, but I can't quite get what she meant. Can someone help?
Thanks so much for this tutorial, there is very good explicating :)
Thank you!! Glad to hear it!! 💕
Love it, just finished mine today🎉
gonna learn to crochet and make this little guy my first project/goal
Ill do it for Him
I love that! I hope you enjoy crocheting it's very therapeutic!
Hi! I'm from Brazil, my name is Nickole and I made the frog with fluorescent green wool if I could send a picture it was perfect! thanks for the tutorial and your frog is perfect 💜
If you have instagram you can share it and tag me there :) I would love to see it! I'm glad you liked the tutorial!!
Very cute. I’m making one for my kid. Subscribed.
I’m so close to being done and I absolutely love the way it is turning out, but I’m a bit confused about the 2 back legs. I know one is different from the others, but do those first 6 stitches we added for height count to the 15 we are making in row 1? Thank you so much, can’t wait to give this as a gift :)
Hi! The back left leg gets 6 extra stitches for height yes! They do not count as the first 15 stitches! Happy crocheting!!
@@MochaStitch thank you so much, I assumed so! I finished it and I’m sure my friend is going to love love it!!! I need to make one for myself now too, it’s just too amazing T^T seriously, best tutorial ever :)
That's great! I'm sure your friend will love it too!! Thank you so much that really means a lot! 🥰
I decided to make this as a graduation gift for one of my friends, whom I'll graduate with today!
Thankyou for this amazing tutorial
mine turned out very very cute 🥰
So glad to hear you liked it!! 🥰
Crochet gods: how many frogs are you gonna ma-
Me: *yes*
my legs are all different but at least 2 of them look pretty decent 😭 great tutorial btw, was following the written pattern but the video helped me out much better lol
Oh no! First attempt! Please reach out on Instagram if you have it and want help in the future! :)
Really fast question, instead of filling it with white floof, would I be able to fill it with… say a sock with beads to make it kind of like a stress ball or would you not recommend that? Thank you for the AWESOME video!
You could try it if the beads are big enough! If they are small they will likely pop out of the stitches. The shape of the finished product might be a little different too but you can try anything!
Thank youuu ❤
Thanks for sharing this pattern! Mine turned out well though there are some visible imperfections on the legs. I’ll try again haha
You're welcome! Glad you liked it!!
for rounds 10-18 does The 54 in parentheses mean the totalnumber of stitches We make in those rounds ?
My frog's body was basically like a saucer, it was flat and wasn't circular at all. I couldn't really find any tips on how to fix this, so I tried something myself. I took a small cylindrical object, like a pill bottle, put it in the center of the body then pulled up the sides. After I did this, my work started to gain some height. I did it again and again until my height was similar to the video. Hope this helps others
Quick question to anyone who did this pattern, does the first back leg need to be the exact same pattern as the two first front legs ? Like do i need to have 12stiches at the end of the row like for the front legs or do i need to just follow the amount of stiches there is in the round which is 10 and then 5 on the inside towards the body ? I don’t if my question make sense 😅
The number of stitches for the back legs are different :) the back legs should have 15 stitches like you said, 10 then 5 stitches on the inside to get back to your starting point. Make sure you add the extra stitches to the shorter leg!
@@MochaStitch thank you so much 🙏 can't wait to finish this
Thank you for the tutorial! This frog is so cute🥺
Please can you tell me if it is possible to make the frog smaller?
Thank you! The best way to make a smaller frog is to use a thinner/lighter weight yarn and a smaller hook but still follow the pattern :)
@@MochaStitch thank you very much!
Hi I’m wondering at the end of every row should I skip a stitch a slip stitch into the first stitch ? Btw love the frog design.
Hello! You are working in the round, not rows, so you just continuously sc around! You can use a stitch marker to mark your place for the first stitch of each round, but you do not need to connect rounds with slip stitches or chains etc! Hope this helps!
@@MochaStitch yes but there are rows so when doing increases you don’t slip stitch but when just doing single crochets you slip stitch ?
I'm not sure what part of the frog you are referring to, but unless instructed there are not slip stitches when working in the round, just a mix of single crochets, increases or decreases and you go around and around continuously in a spiral
@@MochaStitch I understand now , I’m a beginner so I didn’t understand at first. Thank you for taking your time to answer and help me, I really appreciate that. And also love the pattern . Best crochet frog I’ve seen
He's so cute!!!😊
Thank you!!
Excuse me I have a question, when you do a single crochet, do you put your crochet through the two loops facing you or you through them and the one under on the side ? Or is it only the top loop with the one on the side ? (Sorry I don’t know if it’s clear and/or understandable)
Hello! It's not totally clear, but a single crochet is worked through the two top loops of a stitch. I have a separate video where I demonstrate a single crochet so feel free to watch that :) the link is ruclips.net/video/veihvFXp35g/видео.html
@@MochaStitch Wow thank you so much for you response and time (so fast) ! I watched it of course but I wasn’t sure so thank you again
The result is so cute, do you mind if i use this patern to make more for sell? (Prob not a lot)
Yes you can sell them in small quantities but please credit me as the designer! :) Thank you!
before i actually sit down and begin to do this (i will eventually for sure) i am VERY new to crochet (legit just started a couple days ago) im just wondering if this project would be beginner friendly? or should i do some other projects before attempting this one
Hi Vicky, I do label this design as beginner friendly! My video tutorial shows you how to do everything so you won't get lost/confused. Happy crocheting and welcome to the craft!!
@@MochaStitch thank you so much. I really appreciate it
You definitely will!! Good luck and have fun!
Does the 54 in parentheses for rounds 10-18 mean the total number of stitches made in those rounds?
Yes
I dont know if you will reply but do you slip stitch at the end of each round to join the circles? Or do you just continue on after the last stitch?
You just continue on in the round, no joining rounds :)
@@MochaStitch Thanks you so much for replying!
I made the mistake of slip stitching so i'll try it again without ☺
I learned crochet just to make this and now I can't stop making frogs
It's so addicting!!
for rounds 10-18 does The 54 in parentheses mean the totalnumber of stitches We make in those rounds ?
@@annabanana122o I think it means the total number of stitches you end with in that round
@@SydTheSpoon like 54 for 11 54 for twelve and on till 18?
@@annabanana122o yes that's how I did it, sorry I wasn't clear in my first reply
Hi, So we don’t do the first 6 crochet stitches on the Right back leg like we did on the left. I’m really confused so do we just start with round one and how do we actually start it?
Correct you don't do those extra stitches on the back right leg. You just attach your yarn like you did for the other legs and begin round 1 of the back leg pattern immediately
My frog's body basically didn't have
a a hole at the end of the 6 decreases. Is it okay if i just cut the string and tuck it in? Ps, im using a semi chunky fuzzy yarn☺
I would suggest trying to still close up the stitches or sew through the stitches a bit to seal the body up! If you weave the tail in make sure you secure it really well or your frog will have a little belly button!
Thanks
If we credit your pattern, are we allowed to sell the finished project? Thanks!
Yes in small quantities absolutely! Thanks for asking!!
Using chunky yarn w a 9mm hook, making a really big frog 😳
That's great! I made a chunky one as a gift and loved the final product!!
so, the right back leg pattern is the same as the left one? or the same as the front leg?
The back legs are the same and the front legs are the same, except the back left leg (when you're looking at the frog from the bottom) has 6 extra single crochets to build height. The right back leg just follows the back leg pattern without the extra stitches
@@MochaStitch ah ok. I did just that. thank you
My shape comes out very different. I have the exact amount of stitches I need but mine is like a Frisbee or saucer and it's not very deep.
How many rounds of single crochets did you make? Perhaps it's not the correct number of rounds
Does not doing the slip stitch to close each round affect the final piece?
As long as you have 6 stitches to start, no, the slip stitch is just for looks :)
Hi I don't know if you still reply to comments but I am very confused about the back right leg since you didn't show it?
Please help? :]
Hi! Yes I do! The back right leg is made exactly the same as the back left, except no extra single crochets at the very beginning of the leg!
It says to do each instruction 6 times, but this will go beyond the end of the round. Is this correct?
No, it will be one complete round. Sorry if it's confusing but you repeat 6 times around total, including the first part of each round in the video, so repeat 5 more times after that.
when she say single crochet 5 times then inc 6 do you count the 5 singles then start inc 6 times?
Hi Maria, sorry for the late reply here! If you haven't figured it out it would be 5 SC, inc, and repeat that pattern 6 times! So 5sc, inc, 5sc, inc etc!
Hola podrías poner subtítulos en español ? Exelente trabajo! 👏👏👏
Hello, I'm sorry but I cannot put Spanish subtitles. It would be up to someone bilingual to add them. So sorry about this!!
For round 10-18, do we have to crochet 54 sc x 9 rounds or am I wrong?
Hi! No for rounds 10-18 you are just creating one single crochet in each stitch around. There should be no increases during these rounds!
@@MochaStitch Oh, thankyou! so for 1 round it should be 54 single crochet?
Hi! Not it's from rounds 10 to 18 so you are doing it for 9 rounds total. This is building up the height in the body of your frog :)
@@MochaStitch Thankyou so much
can i use cotton balls to fill it??
You could but I would not recommend it if you want to wash the finished product at all! It may also be a bit lumpier than if you used fiberfill
unless you want a large frog, i do not endorse using chunky yarn and an appropriate sized hook to crochet this frog. its lovely, just big
ive also run out of yarn so he's on hold until I can get more.
For the closing of the bottom hole, I did something wrong and now I’m two stitches short. No idea where I went wrong or how to fix it so imma just pray that it works out okay
If the legs are the right size then you should be ok :) two stitches shouldn't drastically change the appearance
how do u size this down proportionately? it consumes a bit too much yarn-
The only way to size down would be a thinner yarn or smaller hook. You can't go too small for your yarn though. That's the only way to size down while still following the pattern
I basically just started... what is an increase? Like thoroughly explained plz
An increase (in this pattern) is when you create 2 single crochets into a single stitch :)
@@MochaStitch ooh ok! Tysm!!
Olá, estou postando por que percebi gosta deste tema e no nosso canal tambem possuimos varias recetas completas. Caso queira ver, espero que goste!😊
I'm so sorry but what is the difference between an increase and a single crochet (I'm new to this)
An increase in this case would be two single crochets worked into one stitch, thereby increasing the total number of stitches by 1 :)
@@MochaStitch OH!!! Thanks!
@@MochaStitch I have another question (hope I'm not being pushy) but when you said 1 sc then 1 inc and repeat it 6 times for the 3rd row, did you mean to repeat that 6 times ( sc, inc, sc, inc, sc, inc, sc, inc, sc, inc, sc, inc) or something else?
You've got it :)
@@MochaStitch Thanks, this will turn out amazing!
Hi! Do you know approximately how many yards of yarn you used for the body? I want to make this frog but i'm going to need some more of the green yarn im going to use to make the frog for another project i'm thinking of working on. Thanks!
Roughly 40 yards / 25g of handicrafter cotton! It depends if you use the same weight of yarn :)
@@MochaStitch okay thanks! would worsted weight yarn use around the same amount?
Yup I used worsted weight!
@@MochaStitch alright thanks! I'll be sure to make this sometime :)
Excuse me, can I translate it into Russian and share? This frog is awesome!
I'm ok with this if you give me all design credit! You can message me on Instagram if you have any questions
@@MochaStitch OK, thanks!

I will kill for this frog
I’m confused when you say the increase after the single crochet?
Do you mind sharing the timestamp?
For example when you say 3 sc and 6 increases do you mean that for every 3 sc there needs to be another sc? Or does increases mean a different stitch? Sorry I’be only fine blankets before! Hope I made sense
@@MochaStitch oh wait is the increase in the same hole as the previous SC?
Oh thank you for the additional detail! No it means the pattern that you repeat in that round is 3 sc, then one increase, and repeat the pattern six times around.
So it would look like : sc, sc, sc, inc, sc, sc, sc, inc, sc, sc, sc inc etc repeating the pattern for that round. Does that help?
