I studied this stuff for years ago, but seeing your demonstrations really inspires me to be considering how to do it now in my new home. Thank you so much for what you are doing!
Awesome. It's just wonderful to hear someone speaking about microbes, compost and eco systems. Your videos are so informative, glad I found your channel.
Thanks for the Video! Forgive me for butting in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Proutklarton Protecting Aqua Plan (search on google)? It is a smashing one off product for getting prepared for a mega drought without the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my friend Sam got cool results with it.
You've nailed it...everything you have done has prepared you for this drought and time. It has been amazing to watch you "grow", didn't mean to use the pun. Fantastic Job!!!
Your video AND YOUR YARD is an inspiration. I'm currently starting my planning, but my end goal is very similar. Growing food as well as taking advantage of natural resources available without being destructive. I live in a consistent dry climate, only 15" of rain/snow a year, so this info is awesome! Thanks for this video!
Rishi, I enjoyed your video. Inspiring! I just spoke to you on the phone and am looking forward to meeting you at your workshop in Pasadena. Thanks for your time!
This is what I have been looking for, I can't believe you're so close too, I live in Upland and I am looking forward to your workshops....thank you... I know it requires work, but I am 100% willing and able to do it, my DIY skills are not professional but I'm not an Amateur either.
Lots of great information in a way that I can understand about the way our landscapes should be. You are very inspirational and I will be using some of your ideas in my landscape. I've already started with adding lots of wood chips to my landscape but can do so much more. Thanks again.
Hey bro! i love your videos, cant stop watching them. When you are talking about using the grey water for your garden, i think you have to use a phyto epuration system ( ponds with waterplants overflowing into the next pond with waterplants ) to filter out the ammonia and others that you wash of your hands and body which are not good for your plants.
Thank you for your very helpful video. I am really interested in the swale idea, but still a little unclear on how to properly construct and utilize it. Can you recommend a video or some reading material that would be helpful before I start digging?
I also would appreciate this. We just installed downspouts after completing a new roof. Ours don’t go to any drain underground, but I am supposed to buy something to extend the downspouts function out away from the house. Either a flexible hose-like thing, or a plastic… or if I can find one, concrete slide-like thing. I am open to other ideas. Here soil is loose soft and sandy and tends to gully out to rushing water. My yard slants very gently down to the street, and is a corner lot with grassy lawn surrounding. I am open to other ideas related to what to do at the end of the downspouts. I considered rainchains, but for now I just went with downspouts. I don’t have tons of time to mess around with stuff, so whatever I do can’t be too overly time consuming, and not expensive. I have researched swales but don’t fully understand them. Your video helped some… now I know they are flat on the bottom. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
Thank you for the video. It is amazing how you did your home. We are redoing our yard and was hoping to find plant examples. Do you have a list of your plants and trees?
Loved the video, but also was thinking how I wish I could just hear you :) -and not the music. Wonderful garden you have, and so amazing you've done this despite the drought. Fantastic and inspirational!
I really want to watch this. But I can't. The endless tinkly harp music is louder than your voice and effing annoying. And if you only speak at the pace of 10 words per minute, we're going to be watching for an hour. C'MON!
The music is distracting. I want to hear what you are saying not listen to music, but I'm clicking away because it's too hard to concentrate on your message.
Please realize 25 minutes is too long when we only have limited amounts of time each day. Please can some one tell me in a couple of bullet points below If and how we can create a drought resilient landscape....
Love the information and most importantly the goal of a green, healthy eco system surrounding our homes. Exciting movement!

Any tips on trees in small backyards?
This is lovely. The background music is distracting.

Thank you for the video. It is amazing how you did your home.
We are redoing our yard and was hoping to find plant examples.
Do you have a list of your plants and trees?
wood chips the holy grail of gardening.
Shutting off video, too bad but music kills a really good vid
listen to it at 2x...i isn't as bad,. Plus he talks so slowly, at 2x his voice is actually easier to listen to.
Wonderful video but why the annoying music?
the background music is so loud I can't hear the speaker. Could you edit out the music and just do the video?

Loved the video, but also was thinking how I wish I could just hear you :) -and not the music. Wonderful garden you have, and so amazing you've done this despite the drought. Fantastic and inspirational!
I liked the music
Extremely interesting but please please don't add music when you speak. It's unecessary and Totaly distracting !!!!
Hello well done learn from Australia the driest country on earth follow permaculture in Australia then look into Africa’s journey and India as well
great video. why do permaculture videos always use such terrible background music?
hello! i live very close, i am interested in attending your workshop. How can i contact you?
Interesting, but you should eliminate the music.
So do your neighbors hate you because your front yard is so messy?
5
How are you not violating any CCR's? Your county allows this?
Covenant Code and Regulations. My county would fine me if I were to make a front yard garden.
+pheotonia It is time to think for yourself and not being an obedient little slave anyway
+pheotonia There is way to go around your fears without aving problem with the laws.
Do you have a Facebook or Instagram?
I have decomposed granite like he has and weeds grow rampant. Was a poor choice in my opinion
looks bad but sure go ahead and shadow ban me...

There's many videos on here that are 5 minutes long with the basics, I'm happy that there's a longer video with more details.
preachy, slow boring. your talking to California's make it entertaining.
Elizabeth Armendariz, I'm in MO and think he's a well of information! Drought can happen anywhere!
