Best install Iboard video out there definitely going with the 6 inch thanks for sharing. I like that you got your wife to show how functional they are. Thank you both.
Those are brushed aluminum I got the brushed stainless steel and they are totally different looks similar untill you turn them over and the bottom is hollowed out and the frame is reinforced with 3 inner brackets then you mount bent c channel to the underside of truck then lineup brackets with c channel and tightened all bolts after you center everything youres is much simpler good vid
if I buy these I will be sure be watching this again. One question. How much drilling did you have to do or were he holes already there in the rocker panels for the secondary brackets??
Didn't have to drill a single hole. Looks like they changed the style slightly to no longer have the plastic on the step. The grooves are cast into the board. Actually a good update IMHO. I am sad they stopped selling the brushed aluminum.
@@AttommicDog ok so it isn't labeled as wheel to wheel? which means it could be other than what they are calling wheel wheel is what I am trying to figure out. Thanks again.
Thanks for letting your wife show the functionality. Been fighting with this part of the decision since my wife will be probably be driving it during hurricane evacuations. My job requires I stay in the area. Showing your wife 'using' the product helped alot. Also, since it's been about 3years since you made this vid, I'm just wondering if you can give an update as to how well the rubber 'pad' is holding up. Thanks again for the great video.
Thank you so much for showing speaking about their size outward. My truck came with non OEM boards, they 'were' GREAT and huge. But I think too huge and sadly, ripped one off on a stump. I think I'll be purchasing these! Great Video!
Glad I could help. These are holding up great so far. Kind of a bummer you ripped a board off. Seen it happen before. Not pretty when you are out in the desert off roading... That's probably my biggest fear in general.
Thanks for making the video! I bought the exact same truck as well as same color last Friday. My 4" iboards will be arriving on Friday. Great video, this has given me good a head start for installation.
It shouldn't happen if you are careful and do it the right way, but if it does either nimble fingers or a magnet on something flexible. But most should be gettable by a finger.
Getting ready to mount some to a 2017 dodge 1500 laramie. I dug and dug and found a little different style iboard. They're curvated, I'm hoping these will prevent splash up. I'm just wondering how did u mark driver from passenger after u painted? Thanks
Well I can only say that the 5" would stick out 1/2" less, but also stick out 1/2" more from the truck (as they all use the same bracket). Not much of a difference. I wanted the widest pad possible, and wanted it as close to the body as possible. In reality It would look pretty much similar. I doubt you could lose either way you go.
They look like the day I bought them. The painted brackets still look silver and shiny. I was telling my wife I can't believe how well they held up compared to the last set of boards I bought.
Rustoleum Premuim spray paint. It dries in about 10 minutes on a warm day. This is the exact product: www.lowes.com/pd/Rust-Oleum-Professional-Stainless-Steel-Rust-Resistant-Enamel-Spray-Paint-Actual-Net-Contents-14-oz/3728759
Won't be a big difference. Door dings are so common here I just wanted a buffer lol. I did discovered/realized another benefit. My small dogs use the wide step to get into the back seat.
I was not under the impression there was a true wheel to wheel for these. These are not. But they are closer (as in longer) to wheel to wheel than some brands I looked at. Certainly covers the front and back doors completely and then some. Look at the end of the video and you can get a good perspective where they will sit on your truck.
Let me know if it is any different than what you see here. Even still they are rugged and held up really well through an Arizona summer. I was worried about the rubber but so far it still looks like new... when washed...
A little over $220. Look at the video description for a link to them on Amazon (click "show more"). If you buy them using that link it will be like giving me a tip :) Cost you nothing to use it. BTW they still look like new so one AZ summer has not affected them at all.
Black tape strips? Oh you mean the tape covering the holes in the frame? Good question, but my 2012 Ram had the same thing. Done at the factory I guess to keep dirt out?

@@AttommicDog is this what they consider the 'wheel to wheel' version?
@@swmplvr Technically no. But darn close as you can see.

Thank you for showing the new style front bracket on the driver side.I may get some of these.

what can you do when front bracket holes are corroded and one of the bolts broke in hole

If a bracket fell down into the hole of the rocker panel , how would one get it out?

Sell the truck lol

That's interesting. Link a photo here when they are installed. I would like to see them.
Great video. I have the exact same truck and am trying to decide between the 5" and 6" board. Opinions?

Great video! 5" ordered for installation. 👍🏼😉
Just got a 2017 1500 (Sept 2017), all mounts are threaded M12x1.25mm, no need for the adaptor stud/bracket!
Never mind u said they were all the same. Thanks for your video
So you just wanted to bitch .
How have these held up?

Hey Atomic dog thanks for this very helpful video. What product did you use to spray the brackets an aluminum color?
Rustoleum Premuim spray paint. It dries in about 10 minutes on a warm day. This is the exact product: www.lowes.com/pd/Rust-Oleum-Professional-Stainless-Steel-Rust-Resistant-Enamel-Spray-Paint-Actual-Net-Contents-14-oz/3728759

I don't seem to see a 6" option on their site? Only giving me the 4".
click on Atomic dog's direct link on Amazon, you can get the 6" there
Thank you. Very specific and helpful.
Are these the wheel to wheel version? I have seen a lot of complaints that their W2W runs short

AtomicDog well I guess I will find out when my set is delivered on Monday. Said the were wheel to wheel so I am keeping my fingers crossed

AtomicDog will do. I am rather anxious myself. My factory running boards are wheel to wheel- I am just not in to chrome
what's the price of those and where do you order them?
A little over $220. Look at the video description for a link to them on Amazon (click "show more"). If you buy them using that link it will be like giving me a tip :) Cost you nothing to use it. BTW they still look like new so one AZ summer has not affected them at all.
