- It's been two years since my mission aboard 5007 to pick up the C-60. Hoping for another opportunity soon to pick up a C-119B Flying Boxcar! Here a clip of the original video of starting up the ATM pumps and lowering the flaps and slats, then cutting over to shutting the ATM pumps down to start the engines.
this C5M sounds so much quieter than the old engines.
Different ( newer ) engines, Broh...
Yawn, wake me up when an A or B starts up. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
NO, using C-5M Super galaxy with GE CF-6 or F-138 jet engine
You’ll be asleep forever.
If you made this statement after September 7, 2017, you're not waking up.
Loved that sound when it was time to head home. Ah the memories
Sounded like Woodshop in my high school… but beautiful sound indeed.
1:45. I used to always picture a fighter jet starting up whenever I heard a sound like that.
*Quite soothing... Still, I miss the old TF-39s...*
C5 a b with cf 39 engines still ring in my ears
I agree. Just a little side note: tf39 not cf39
Using C-5M super galaxy with GE CF-6 jet engine
TF. Not CF.
Wait since when did a single plane have its own youtube channel
5007 IS A GOOD BIRD. BEEN HEAVY IN THE SYSTEM AND KEEPS FLYING HARD
The sound prior to start up, was that the plane being jacked up from its loading position? Sounds familiar. I worked as a CDF loaf team member and have loaded and unloaded the C-Bs when flew to Whiteman every once in a while.
billys that is the sound of the air turbine motors firing up for ground hydraulic pressure.
billys you worked as load master on C-5 ?
Why are literally all C5 Galaxy Videos on RUclips being rated for Kids on RUclips?
This is an ge cf6 80c2b1f engine
Sorry it is ge cf6 80c2l1f
The military version of the cf6
the new C5M is much quieter on engine start and take off.
Well no TF 39'S , but hydraulics sound the same. LOL
Oh my goodness 😱
CF6
I think its time for a Super Heavy Airlifter. A Million Pounder plus aircraft. The C5 can no longer handle the Ops Tempo required. A Super Heavy that can operate on the same same airfields as the C5M but significantly larger capacity in both volume and weight using the superior efficiency of the 100,000lb + thrust GE9X engines..
Nah, being to big brings huge logistical and cost issues.
bleck not a tf-39, not a C5!
I used to lay awake while in the army and listen to the tf-39's power up and take off all night long from Campbell AAF, the distinct sound they make says C5, not the new M model generic BORING sound! Why such Ignorance gets a highlighted reply is beyond me!
it is a c5 m which does not have the t39 engines, the c5 and c5b did
correct the C-5A and B models!
He's fanboy-ing over the TF39s, because he doesn't like the sound of the CF6s that C-5Ms are equipped with, even though the CF6 is an objectively better engine than the TF39.
UZP Customs, pure crap? Well those crappy engines did just fine during their service. Yeah so what, old technology, but that sound, oh that sound! All others sound weak in comparison. 🤘🏻
The General Electric TF39 is really loud, I can’t imagine how your ears felt filming this 😂😛
I ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️C-17 & C-5M🇺🇸✈,,,, OK for A400M✈🐨 & AN-178✈🐋,,, OK for AN-70 w/ propelled look like FLOWER 🌼,,,, 😫🤮 for AN-70 & Y-20 with front nozzle nose
Older is better 😴 TF-39
