- Bulk Deal and Block Deal is one of the important criteria for many retail investors to take a position in the stock. There is a misconception that in the case of a Bulk Deal and Block Deal, the stock price movement will be upwards. It is not a correct understanding. The stock price may move upwards or downwards depending on the various factors.
In a Bulk Deal and Block Deal, it is very critical to know who is buying and who is selling. It helps an investor to decide whether to buy, sell or hold. In many cases, such deals provide and the excellent trading opportunity to the speculators and traders.
A series of Bulk Deal and Block Deal are a good indication that stock will move up but sometimes it's a trap from big investors to signal their position in the stock. Lastly, it should not a false volume breakout.

Bulk Deal and Block Deal
1 Do not invest based on Bulk Deal and Block Deal. Stock might show up move and down move. But Seller is confident that stock will go down
Trading Opportunity is in Bulk Deal only not Block Deal
2 Price is already decided in Block Deal - If CMP is less then share price is get to agreed price and then deal gets executed
Block Deal can happen only in first 35 min after market opens, not on normal trading window but other interface
3 Block Deal not visible on trading window, Bulk Deal visible on trading view (to identify this we need to track volume, Only 0.5% percent allowed in bulk deal)
You never know the exact quantity of qty traded in Bulk Deal
4 If continuous bulk deal by 4 to 5 investors, then investors are confident of future of that stock
5 Identify False Volume Breakout - Few of them sell huge qty and later buy it - this increases spike in volume
6 Volume & Delivery % analysis doesn't work if block or bulk deal executed
7 If Promoter or Promoter Family Members or FII sold stocks then negative impact on stock, if Promoter, Promoter Family Memebrs, FII buying then bullish sign on stock

How to identify either promoter or MF are involved in Bulk sell. If we go through NSE daily bulk deal details most of the time for some stocks it only shows buyer details. now how to identify who sold these shares?
If you consider an example of tatamtrdvr recently 2 top MF funds bought shares in bulk but we never get to know who sold all these shares ? Did they buy huge number of shares from retail investor's ??
Sir when I see the data of NSE Bulk deals, I am surprised to see that mostly bulk deals are done by the same finacial institutions. They buy and they sell. Why do they do that? This is the biggest questionon I have in my mind?

At what point of time do these bulk deals get updated on the nse site? Are they real time or they disclose it only at the end of the day? Also, does the effect remains on the next day trading hours or they are short lived for few minutes for the same day?

Abhi recently dhampur mein bulk deal hua tha anil kumar goel ne buy kiya tha @181 . Aaj 195 hai....
Stock have not moved up because of bulk deal but because govt increased the fair and remunerative price (FRP) for sugarcane at Rs 255 per quintal i.e. 11% increase. Indirectly it means 11% additional margin or profitability. As a retail investors we should find out real reason for stock price movement.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala ji ne spicejet@18,ncc@26 and kesoram@45 mein bulk deal kiya tha in around 2014-15.
Stocks have moved up because of some other reasons. The spice jet moved up because change in leadership i.e. Mr Ajay Singh and also sharp collapse in ATF that is major expense for any airline. He also took various steps to revive the airline which was written down by investors i.e. cost and route optimization etc.
I can share similar reasons in detail for other stocks.

How to get details of parties involved in block deal? For example in NESCO Ltd. There are few continuous block deals, on 11th n 12th July , but not able to get parties details. This company has strong fundamentals, n their are few key triggers coming in near future but not sure about the deal exact reason
