How can this look better than action movies we currently have in Nollywood?
+Esther Ajayi cause mtn has more resources i guess, "better soup na money kill am"
+Joy Babare I guess so
Nigeria is one of the most lacking countries in Africa, in terms of "studied producers". In most countries in Africa like Kenya and South Africa, especially francophone speaking countries, movie makers are very well learned in the art of cinematography, hence why if you check the main countries that either get nominated or even win most international awards and get screened at festivals, they're mostly not Nigerian films. It's baffling, though, because Nollywood happens to be one of the top five highest grossing film industries in the world. I suppose it's just selfishness on the producers parts. The average nollywood movie made on a 30k dollars budget is projected to earn about 300k in a year. Most of these producers do about ten to twenty films a year, so they're no doubt making money, but they would rather not reinvest in their own industry. It's like they don't understand that if they make well produced films they can actually reach much bigger markets even outside of Africa and earn even more money like Kunle Afolayan and victor Viyuoh are doing. Too much selfishness, even against themselves.
Eyong Tambe I agree, And even the ones who do have training never stay in Nigeria. I know a few people who are interested in the film industry and only 1 wants to work in Nollywood. I even know of Nigerian actors who would rather act in Bollywood than Nollywood
I agree with you
Still remains my favorite advert till date. Wonderful concept
Now this is what i call creative, the colour of three representatives used as a slight pointer to the other networks (light green - etisalat; red -airtel and green - obvs, glo). absolutely love this. BIG UP to all those who worked on this!!!
Of all the jobs I did...this is by far..my ultimate best....sad that I can only see it here...and no one here at home has seen it 🙃..I think I should relocate to Nigeria...
Cool concept..... The ties representing glo, etisalat and airtel 😊
Good thing I wasn't the only one that noticed it #subtlebeef
Mkpa Ezinne i notice that too

The advert wars
nice and I think it's a bit shady only if u get d scope of what the advert connotes via d dresses
Who else figured that the three other guys stand for the three other major networks? Just check the colour of the ties and the vest the lady wore.
So still no unlimited and fast internet for 2016?
Falz why you like this 😂😅👍👌✊👏
Personally the advert is creative but it is common sense for us (Nigerians) to keep our money in Nigeria with ninja brand
why are the actors wearing green? shade on Glo?
+micheal stephanie and etisalat?

Please who's that fine girl that came off the chopper?
lol at that woman's wig falling off
The advent of adverts as this is needed in the Nigerian competition law issues. While the use of the tie colours is commendable, I think the legal department of organizations who closely offer services or goods to the Nigerian society (as that MTN) aren't doing their home work very well. In an advert as this, I believe the legal department of MTN should've given MTN a 'go ahead' to use Glo, Etisalat, and Airtel's name directly or unequivocally if you like, instead of their representations in tie colours. Glo, Etisalat or Airtel's services should have been mentioned and described in detailed in this almost 3 minutes advert, and a comparison made with what MTN is offering or advertising.
Here is some legal advice to legal departments of MTN and such other organizations providing goods/services for the Nigerian public. "Comparative advertising" - where MTN could refer to the honest services offered by Glo, Etisalat or Airtel - as being deficient to theirs has a solid root in law. Although there's no law expressly validating "comparative advertising" in Nigeria as do Europe. Still, the question is what is MTN scared of in this advert for not directly mentioning Glo, Etisalat or Airtel and their supposed poor services?, the most realistic legal-related answer is the fear of a "defamation" suit. Nigerian manufacturers and producers of products and services must be aware that a defamation suit would not stand where they (the manufacturer/producer) had referred to the "truth" of what their competitors are doing (including the type of services they are rendering). This is called "justification" in law, and it's a complete defense to "defamation". Aside this, trademark infringement issues might arise, but that also would not stand, since MTN wouldn't have been using Glo, Etisalat or Aritel's trademark as a disguise for their own trade-boost purposes. This last argument is well-rooted in the function of trademark which is generally agreed to be the "origin" function. I need not engage in this discussion in this comment, but summarily, that function is not compromised by a clear and honest "comparative advert".
These are fundamental legal issues big organizations as MTN should engage in via their legal department and possibly employ in their adverts. Your competitor cannot sue you if you say a truth about them in your own advert. Any court of law in Nigeria would be ready to listen to this valid arguments, even though it might seem novel in Nigerian courts. Organizations must not be sacred of them being used as "scape goat" in legal suits, we (as lawyers, law enthusiast and consumer) need organizations to engage in activities as this, so that the Nigerian legal system can develop, and so that the public can always have cheaper and better services/goods. Nigerian manufacturing and producing companies must also change their employment practises, employ good legal minds in your legal department, and not just employ based on other standards aside merit. It is very important.
gbenga Odugbemi but that may be free publicity for the competition. Given that their own offering is not as cool as depicted or claimed, people will be tempted to try out the other options they have advertised with their credibility.
Naso MTN good ni?
lol falz the bahd guy indeed
Who came here after watching Barrister Mike interview with Chude
Wow just look at d embadisgrace on their competitors. LOL
bit interesting
OPE OO.. NEXT THING YOU SEE IS ETISALAT SAYING 1GB FOR 2H NAIRA
😂
not a huge fan of him and his accent but I think he is col
u can get sued for using glo airtel and etisalat colors. u can tell from the color of the ties and the inner shirt the woman is wearing and many more
+linda williams that will be a lost battle since there names and logos was not mention or shown in the ad. a similar situation is the DHL ad targeted at FEDEX where the wrote FEDUP? using the exact fonts and colors of FEDX
hassan abdulazeez am i in court lol, i love falz
+linda williams i think the other sides have thrown shots at MTN which is why this coming. you can check most of the recent adverts
MTN dy Mock GLO and Etisalat. Worst advert ever.
Naah. Nothing bad about it. :)
+Pa' Ray (Vlog) and Airtel.. Competition is the best for customer
Horrible advert with ineptly spoken English. You dont even get better by making your competitors look bad.
You really don't get the concept.
