YES. Per FIFA Laws, Law #14...if BOTH teams infringe upon area during PK prior to kick being struck, it is a retake. Referees simply ignored the Lazio players in the area.

@@Ranamon9132 Its not his first time, he has been awful forever. Spanish and Italian Leagues have the worst referees, but its bigger than that, both leagues are corrupted in all possible levels, VAR is biased, players are now actors, and so on. Sad.
as much as it is weird, the ref was right with lecce's penalty. the thing is that that is a technicality which gets ignored 99% of the time, so now the Federation and the Refs Association should make sure that this technicality gets respected in every occasion.

To disallow the penalty rebound goal is laughable. 2 Lazio players also ran in before the penalty was taken and they are even ahead of the person who actually scored. What a joke.

Why exactly Lecce's goal from penalty isn't valid i get that the guy who scored entered the penalty area too early but there are at least 4 other lazio players in front of him. Shouldn't this penalty be retaken because defenders entered penatly area too soon and they did it way earlier than the Lecce's player ? Please advise.
It would have been retaken if one of the defenders got to the ball first, but the first player who touched the ball after the keeper's save was the striker. This is why it is a free kick.

Yes, that is correct. If replay shows that Defending team entered area before kick was struck, it is a retake, period (regardless of whether attacking team also entered area). So this was indeed unfair to Lecce.

Was that a joke, calling back Lecce's penalty kick goal because Lapadula was *leaning* over the edge of the penalty area? 2 Lazio defenders were several steps inside, right in front of the referee, and another was neck-in-neck with Lapadula. Not to mention Lazio's penalty was a farce, flicked against the defender's hand as he's falling out of bounds, ball headed back outside the penalty area. What an embarrassment for Italian football.
@Wael MT Actually the changes were that the *offense* should not benefit from accidental handling and a goal shall not be scored. You should read your IFAB notes, I don't know what UEFA changes you are referring to. Check out this video to educate yourself. And as for Lapadula, that is such a trifling/dubious violation as to be a joke. If leaning over the line is a violation, no penalty kicks taken in the past 5 years would have counted.

Exactly.As Lazio also infringed on the area, the WORST that should have happened for Lecce was Lapadula's goal = disallowed BUT Lecce gets to retake PK because Lazio players infringed as well.
@Wael MT I am afraid you are partially incorrect, however. And the incorrect part is HUGE: FIFA Laws of Game, Law 14 under "Infringements" states when BOTH team's players infringe on area prior to PK being taken, it is a RETAKE regardless of whether scored or NOT. So the ref crew IGNORED fact that Lazio was in the area, although replay very clearly shows this - and they actually robbed Lecce of a Retake...which is 100% against the FIFA Law.

@@davidkrstevski4117 4-2 at the end yes, but it could've been 2-2 if the Lecce PK wasn't called back. BIG DIFFERENCE at that point and it may not have finished 4-2.
I feel Lecce's penalty shouldn't be given in the first place. It looks like that Lecce's player fell on purpose instead of being fouled by Milinkovic-Savic.
For Lazio's penalty, I can't say for sure it should be given or not. Lecce's player clearly try to block the ball with his hand when one of Lazio's player try to save that ball from becoming goal kick. The problem is I can't tell if the whole ball already cross the line or not. What we see from that camera angle can be different if the camera angle was from above.
I can't blame the referee if he made a mistake there because it's not easy to judge that.

Scandal seems a fair descriptor.
What a rule penalty, they annulled the gol because 1 player of lecce was inside and 4 players of lazio too, but if lecce player start in right time he will find 4 lazio player first than him because they start first than him, so impossible for lecce player take the ball first in case...no sense. The penalty should be repeated.
