  • One of the most exciting events of the Arnold Strongman Classic is the fan-favorite hummer tire deadlift, and 2014 was no exception. Three competitors matched or broke Mark Felix's previous world-record lift of 1128 lbs., set in 2013. Zydrunas Savickas of Lithuania set a new world record by lifting 1155 lbs.

I'd say this was the most challenging lift style. The weight leaves the ground at an angle, so it gets heavier as the lift rises. Plus, the thick bar and bend make it not possible to hitch. Yes, the weight starts off the ground higher than a deadlift bar, but it has its own challenges

There is a separate video of Zydrunas just pulling 1155, and what really pisses me off is that some people say that it looks to be couple inches higher so it's a world record rack pull. They're all haters, and if it's almost 1200 pounds, I doubt an inch or two even make the slightest difference.

***** My point is(I agree with your view as well) that someone will say it looks easy because it looks like a rack pull. Regardless its almost 1200 pounds impressive either way, I do think that Zydrunas Savickas could pull at least 1080 in competetition

It really depends on the inch. the diff between from the floor, roughly 9" from ground to center of the bar, and an inch higher is almost nothing. the difference between 18" measured from ground to center of bar, and an inch higher is an extra 75 to 100 lbs.
