Hello tom . Just simple advice for 2stroke lovers . After a month even a year our motorcycle doesnt been been start , we need to put a 1-2 2t cap to the piston so the piston doesnt have a friction because our piston is in dry + have vapour condition . Its also make our starter and combustion become more easier and the block and piston doesnt have any scratched . If want to do more before we leave it for a month even a year fill the gas full tank so our tank doesnt have any rust , fill the 2t oil in small amount so the pressure become lower and the 2t doesnt kept flowing on the engine , close the muffler hole to prevent dust and steam from entering the engine and causing the exhaust rusty and put the piston on the det end so our piston block is in free condition . It will make our bike become more long lastings
I’m going to be 17 soon in the uk and have just bought myself an rs 125 and ur videos are amazing for helping me along doing various bits. Keep them coming please.

Good to see you out on the bike Tom! i must admit i enjoy working on the bike more than riding particularly with the UKs weather at the moment lol I attempted to change my top-end yesterday but the mitaka cylinder had a defect & dumped all the coolant in my exhaust and bottom end :-(
@@Subliminal3117 Thanks mate, used a compressor and blown most of the coolant out the bottom now, just leaving a heater on it for a few hours, fingers crossed it ain't done no damage luckily didn't start it!

On the other hand, your news is a real bummer! Drain the engine oil, and flush new through should help. Also good luck with the top end install mate👍 Regards Tom
@Paul Mickiewicz Morning, it was a brand new cylinder and had the defect from manufacturing, inside the cylinder just above the PV port is a massive hole, coolant leaked straight through this into the exhaust and bottom end :-( i'll upload a video to my youtube account later
@@tomdidit4216 Thanks Tom, i've drained all fluids but annoyingly as it's in the middle of the crankcase it wouldn't drain through the holes, removing the engine and turning upside down was an option however an hour of my air compressor did the trick eventually, couldn't move the piston it was so hydro locked :-( Bummer to hear of the bad weather in Sydney, hopefully you've got all the rain out the way now and can enjoy driving again ;-)
Hey mate, I went to a 15 tooth front as I’m 90kg. It’s a lot better off the mark and around the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. I’m sure we will run into each other soon👌
U need a group of rs125 to learn more about this bike . I think we need to do a lot of improvement to the engine . Im scare the sound of engine , it seems need to do a lot of repair and adjustment such as pilot jet , mainjet and air flow of the carburator
The thing is with these little bikes as I own three rs125s all SP models from factory full powers one being a all out race bike one being a road / track bike and one being a collectors bike is that my 41hp set up on my road/ track bike is very fun and also suprisingly reliable as long as you have the correct jetting on the bigger carbs mine has the 39mm carb they’re fine, 17/40 gearing top speed of 114mph but it does cost a pretty dollar to tune this far , vforce reeds and vhm cylinder heads make a massive improvement on these bikes obviously you’re riding it daily so you wouldn’t want it to be competitive with a 600cc bike but if you want more all round power the vforce 3 reeds give a massive improvement in low end mid range and top end including responsiveness a vforce 3 reed kit for these bikes around around 130 pounds so about 160-170 dollars but will give you 3-4 horsepower on the dyno too
Thanks for the detailed comment. You must know these bikes inside out! I’m looking into the V force option, however I hear that the carbon petals hit the engine. A Reed blocker is needed. Your thoughts? I agree, these little engines respond very to tuning, at a cost 😀 Thanks again Tom
@@tomdidit4216 I run the vforce reeds in all 3 of my bikes including my road bike I have done 7500 miles of my road/track bike with them and I can confirm they do not hit anything or need a spacer they also eliminate the possibility of the screws of the stock reed valve from entering the engine
The v force 4r reeds can be fitted which have the petal stop you’re talking about but on the dyno it gives a more unnatural curve and has more midrange
Other ways you could gain more pulling power is through a vhm or italkit cylinder head, actually improves the bikes cooling and will run more crisp as the stock squish clearance is quite large even with the smallest cylinder base gasket on , they’re not too prices but gives power through all the rev range without harming the engine
Thanks for the info mate. I’ll have a look at the V force 4 reeds on the weekend. I’m currently running the original reed block. It’s always in my mind that one of the small reed screws will come loose and fly into the engine!

While you were changing the sprocket, there’s a little plastic clip to the left on the frame with a zip tie through it. Do you know what it’s for? I’ve just bought my RS125 and I’m working through sorting some problems out and working out what’s missing and what’s been bodged! Hi Tom. Does your bike have the EFI ECU? If so is it drilled? It seems like my bike does not gain that huge boost when the power valve is supposed to open.
