Telling US salaries are higher is not correct. Only in select cities like SF, NY etc. and/or in top tech companies' salaries are higher. Even in those it is mostly because of stock options.

      Yes. You are correct.
But it is very likely that you can get $125k+ USD in those low cost living cities for a senior position!
However, even in major tech hubs Canadian salaries for Senior position are at max $150k even for the good companies! When you adjust for cost of living, one would almost always come ahead of Canada regardless of their location in US.

    Thanks for this useful information.
Sir, I've applied for the Bachelor of CS(Honours) in Sheridan College (Oakville Campus) and Information Systems Engineering in Humber College(North Campus) for Fall 2024(September intake), tuition fees for each college is approx.~80000 CAD.
Universities are very expensive in Ontario on comparing with colleges, though in Sheridan Coop is mandatory for 3 terms means for 1 year and in humber college the Coop is for 2 months which is optional. So I should go for which college ? and also there are certain universities such as University of New Brunswick and University of Winnipeg, but they are in regional area, so there are not many opportunities available upon graduation or during internships.
and Also is it good to pursue CS/Software Engineering as a career in 2024 as it will take many years from now to graduate.
OR is should go for another field such as Civil Engineering because I have interest in Civil, although both CS and Civil are different but I have interest in both.
    please suggest me something!!

US salaries outside of big tech and outside of tech hubs (which have high cost of living) are far more modest.

Yes but then cost of living is less there as well.
However, compared to Canadian standard even those salaries are high!

So, you suggesting getting married to servive..the cost of things kills the 6figure salary..
Canada is not the perfect place..Is there a perfect place..
Ps .Health Care is not as good..The US is also not an option..To be pulled over by police for not the correct shade😬
There is no perfect country, I reckon..
Where else have you lived other than Canada?AAKASH!

I am not suggesting to get married. Getting a roommate would do as well. It can save you around $1k a a month.
There are few things to consider, numbers that I provided are for a family (2 bedroom apartment) with car. And lot depends on your living standards. For example, if you do move to more affordable city or suburbs in 1 bedroom apartment, you could save another $500 to 1000. Also you can decide on second hand car to save even more.
Point is there are few ways you can set yourself for success.
      1. Increase your salary (most valuable)
      2. Decrease your cost and invest (Get roommate, live in suburbs, get second hand car or no car at all)
      3. Get remote work and move to affordable city.
If you want to live in any major city across the world such as New York, Paris, San Fransisco and London. With average mid level engineer, salary, it will be hard to start a family. You can survive on a single income in 1 bedroom apartment. But to rent 2 bed apartment with one working member without prior saving or investment, it will be hard! Depending on your life-choices you can survive as a single income family if you make compromises! Like if you decide to use transit all times. You can easily afford to have a family with that extra 1k wiggle room!
