I’m British and I currently live in Paris. My wife and I are thinking of moving to Barcelona. I have always loved the city. I spent some time living in London and I have visited Amsterdam on a number of occasions. I love the city also, but the last time we went there (November 2022), I thought that it had become ridiculously expensive. The food isn’t very good there and very expensive. Flat prices were also very, very high. The people are nice, but I’ve always felt that you can’t really integrate properly in Amsterdam/the Netherlands unless you really speak Dutch well. Spanish people, in my opinion and based on my interactions with them, are my more forgiving and will help you learn the language and to integrate. They’re a bit like the Italians in that regard. I’m very excited about moving to Barcelona. I’m really hoping it’ll end up being the place for us. I love Paris and grew up in France, but I just feel that the people here are a bit too close-minded for me, and it’s getting worse. The poor quality of water might be an issue for my wife though. It’s already not the best in Paris. 😅
Oh enjoy!!! I’m sure you’ll love it and don’t get me wrong, we still miss Spain, especially the spirit, the weather and dreaming of owning a second house there one day 🙈😌

I live in Amsterdam , the only problem of Spain is raising money, the rest Spain is 1000X better than NL. Also you mentioned about Amsterdam being better because of not being car friendly and in your opnion it is good, no... it is terrible, NL rains and windy 24/7 , using a car on terrible weather is confort and not a curse
What’s perfect about any country including Spain - it has space for everyone wanting to live there! I couldn’t be happier with Netherlands and Spain for me doesn’t compare in slightest 🙈🤷♀️
I understand!! And even though i do love NOvembers and winter period overall being warm and sunny hahaha I TOTALLY don’t mind DUTCH weather as its a good combination of everything and also rainy weather changes rather fast and frequent too!
