Amazing class!
Classy 👏🏾
Thank-you very much.
so very helpful. Thank You
i like this lady
I love that jacket.
you are superb
I find that thinking BMW works better than the trick you did with your fingers. B for bread, M for meal and W for water/wine, and you just spell it across the table to find the right place for each. :)
Thank you for the tips!!very helpful!!
I am extremely impressed thank you very much for this video.
Thank you. I was actually rather curious about sugar packet placement.
i love it !!!! thank you so much !!! very clear and nice voice :)

dat ws soo elegant..:)..
Thanks..very useful video!
thanks.
Thank you for the great video
Very informative!
I'm only 13 years old but I have to learn this things because of my family. We're not nobles, or something like that but since I'm the oldest daughter, I have to learn this things for the formal parties that I will attend with my parents or relatives in the future. But I get nervous when I'm meeting such high class people, especially when they ask me to perform or to entertain them or when they ask things about me. Should I also answer them formally? Or should I just answer them normally?
Thank you.
you done great job..
That aint proper english.
at 7:50 how would the flute glass get filled with water? Did the host or hostess offer that option at the start of the meal rather than champagne? Each diner should always have a filled water glass at the start of the meal.
Thank you for your instructional video. I have been looking for this type of video for a long time. I plan to instruct my 5th grade class in school the proper way to act and perform in a dining setting. Only one thing I noticed from your video that seemed odd to me. As you passed the salt and pepper among other things, it seemed your sleeve to your shirt could have dragged into your food plates. Wouldn't you say then that your choice of dinner attire was incorrect?
This was a demonstration without food. This suit with fur cuffs is ideally suited to a cocktail party rather than a dinner party. Lady Gloria Starr
ILove you
do you have a video with signaling the waiter?I never know how to signal a server at the restaurant. eg when I want a menu.
Beautiful table cloth
Thank you! I purchased the tablecloth in a bazaar in Dubai. I believe it was made in India.
+Gloria Starr Oh, wow that's wonderful!
I just subscribed. ❤❤❤
Reigning Regine Excellent!!
I would have loved to take you out for dinner, you're so elegant!
When will you be coming to england :)
Hi Gloria. I am right-handed. If the bread is on my left and I only butter one tiny piece at a time then the next time I go to butter another small piece I always drag my right arm through my food. I can't remember to lift my arm up high enough. Also, if my fork is turned downwards in my left hand how is it possible to eat the vegetables? Do you ever come to Toronto Ontario Canada? I really need an in person instruction.
Hello Sherry, I would be pleased to arrange an etiquette lesson for you at an upscale restaurant and teach you these essential skills.
I am in Burlington, ON now so we can make this happen.

pay attention boys
Do you say thank you to the staff while they take things away or while they serve? 🤔
Saying "thank you" to the staff depends on the culture, the level of sophistication of the restaurant, etc. In Taiwan at the Private Club I was invited to by my Hosts, you do not acknowledge the staff by looking at them or saying "thank you" instead you tap your knuckle on the table to say "thank you" to the staff.
I personally like to acknowledge the staff (whether good or poor service) by speaking to them. GloriaStarr.com
@@ExpertGloriaStarr thank you for your reply. I'll remember that.
i love your videos .one thing that i think they need to change in proper etiquette is you should always blow on your coffee or tea before you drink it .i can't tell you how many times i have seen people spit out there coffee or tea at the table because it was to hot i always blow on my cup to cool it off
Thank you for the compliments on my videos.
I do not recommend that you blow on your coffee or tea to cool it down prior to drinking the beverage. Just wait a few minutes and the hot drink will have time to cool. Lady Gloria Starr
thank for your kind advice
Simple and easy rules. But where is the water glass? :)
Wonderful demonstration Gloria :) quick question, I've noticed that some forks are different? I have trouble distinguishing which fork is for the salad and which is for the main course (for example Fettuccine or any other pasta)
Mari Felix Great Question Mari. The salad is usually eaten prior to the entrée so it will be the fork on the outside left.
Some Europeans eat their salad after the entrée, so is this case, the fork for the entrée will be the fork on the outside and the salad fork will be closest to your dinner plate. The entrée would be eaten using the dinner fork and after completion, the plate and fork and knife will be removed.
The dinner fork is usually larger than the salad fork.
Gloria Starr Thank you :D
I put my spoon on top of the sugar paper so as not to drip on the saucer
Interesting
thank u :)
should a person remove gloves to eat, can jewelry be worn on outside of gloves, formal.
+cute Ruth Brown Yes, remove your gloves to eat.
Yes, you can wear a bracelet over a glove.
Ms. Starr, I have two questions for you:1) If I will be serving dinner for my guests at 6 PM, at what time should I invite them to come over? and 2) How long should it be since guests arrive until the actual dinner? And during this time, should I serve a drink? or a little entree? Please, your feed back will be precious to me. Thank you very much, SylvannaFraga.com
If the dinner will be served at 6 pm, I would invite my guest to arrive at 5 pm. Yes, serving a beverage shortly after the guests arrive is appropriate.
Thank you.
I have strived so hard to be a lady and no one appreciates it!
I agree that very few people want to lead an elegant lifestyle. But never give up or lower your standards.
You will outgrow your current friends and you will shine at the next level....GloriaStarr.com
Are American's supposed to eat with their forks turned upside down these days? I thought only the British did that.
Both the American and the European ways of dining are acceptable.
Thank you so much. I loved the video, you covered so much so quickly.
