    I feel like they maybe dropped too many cool ideas from the first episode, like managing money, food, and just small interactions with Daniel like helping him get down a high ledge, and how all that feeds back to teaching Daniel how to behave.
    But that being said, I still Loved it, even more than the first game. They truly went all in on making this brotherhood work, and I'd say they succeeded.

      I agree game had so many missed opportunities like Mushroom if Mushroom's death was on ep5 it would have effect me way more than now it did but still game was really great i liked it way more than first one too.

      The fact that they were still tracking and adding money throughout the game but they never had you spend it again was strange. Going into that store and having to choose what you thought mattered was amazing - the fact that they immediately threw it away and both the decisions in the store and out of it didn't matter again outside of their influence on Daniel was a bummer.

    I haven't played this game yet, and I'm reading some comments saying that this game is anti-white.
    Am I safe in assuming that this is because the game is political in nature (which is something the developers have said on record that they will never shy away from) and maybe isn't completely fawning over white people?

    • @federicomachado811
      @federicomachado811 5 лет назад +21

      Yes, it's just people overreacting because the game dared to say "racism is bad". That reaction is specially baffling considering that even if there's a couple of white racist douchebags in the game, there's also a black antagonist and a lot of the people who help the protagonist along the way are also white.

    • @huzaifahdurrani1642
      @huzaifahdurrani1642 5 лет назад +18

      @@federicomachado811 Gotcha, so it's another situation where the developers can throw a dozen non-white villains at the player and all's fine and dandy, but a few white racist antagonists show up instead and the game is suddenly anti-white and trying to push an agenda.
      I should probably hurry up and play this game.

    • @sebastianmarley446
      @sebastianmarley446 5 лет назад +11

      Yep. The game is not “anti white”, just anti hateful people.

    • @TheMetaidea

      Is a master piece, it just tries to portrait how even light skin half white half mexican kids have to deal with racism.... I dunno why there are some white folks in the US hurt or threatened by that... I guess they are ignorant enough to think that is the norm of being white which at the same time I think is offensive for racist white folks trying to depict the image of all white people as racist, the Director and the writer are truly a big example of how you can be white and still be human enough to understand some other people struggle

      Er... I can’t agree with that. LIS is a tiny little “post-adventure game” that gets talked about alongside AAA titles. It’s exactly rated where it should be. It’s a niche game running with the big boys.

    I feel like the lack of the time mechanic really hurt this season (and Before the Storm). It was a mechanic that really elevated the impact of choices and made for some really fun and unique scenarios that are just completely absent in the later games. I liked some of the ideas in LiS2, like shaping Daniel, but none of it really comes together in a fulfilling way. I think not focusing on a recurring cast also really hurt the experience. The final episode spends a big chunk of time saying goodbye to people we’ve never even met before and it just feels unearned and empty. I appreciate the attempt to try something new, but just didn’t really work for me unfortunately.

    • @pooty195
      @pooty195 5 лет назад +5

      Not sure what you mean, you spend like 5 minutes saying goodbye in episode 5. I agree that the time mechanic was great but like they say in this video - that power was specifically for Max and a metaphor for her own story.

    • @alsopsarchive5384
      @alsopsarchive5384 5 лет назад +1

      pooty195 You spend like 10 minutes saying goodbye to David alone. That is definitely not a five minute section. It’s just bad storytelling and a complete waste of time when we have no connection to any of their relationships. You can also easily shift the story and keep the time mechanic without retreading the same ground. Stripping it and not replacing it with an equally interesting game mechanic just leaves them feeling overly generic.

    • @pooty195
      @pooty195 5 лет назад

      Alsop's Gaming we just disagree then. Personally I was very interested in seeing how the boys and Karen had been living. And if you weren’t interested in talking to David I’m guessing you didn’t play the first game..I’m pretty sure you can just skip saying goodbye to Joan and the couple anyway

    • @iframe1
      @iframe1 5 лет назад +8

      Or because the writing was really bad, and politics were hamfisted up players throats, not subtle in any way. Season 1 was fun, but everything after that completely fell flat for me, s1 had political themes as well btw.

    • @olibigbird
      @olibigbird 5 лет назад

      KbM I don’t get why it matters what reasons people have for disliking a video. That’s kinda the point of it, they dislike something about it. I can’t recall any time I disliked a video, but why do people care? I don’t think this game is all that great, and not because of politics. It’s got no nuance in its storytelling and some of it’s writing is downright cringy. And as a gay man I don’t like how they handled some of the LGBT themes.

    • @Exxcalibur186
      @Exxcalibur186 5 лет назад +44

      Well, playing from the perspective of characters of a minority that Trump actively disparages on a regular basis, the game is probably not going to have the highest opinion of him or his policies. As far as "anti-white" goes, there's plenty of white characters that are shown in a positive light (Cassidy, Jacob, the grandparents, Karen (eventually), Brody, Chris, folks in the camp, etc) compared to ... what, that one asshole at the rest stop and the two assholes at the border? So I don't know what to tell you there. It stands to reason that nasty racist people are going to be antagonistic to the minority protagonists, and to pretend these types of people don't exist is naive at best and delusional at worst.

    • @JazGalaxy
      @JazGalaxy 5 лет назад +19

      If you are asking a serious question, allow me to give you a serious answer: it’s because it’s made by people who aren’t white Americans.
      White Americans telling themselves self-delusions about how they are the smartest, most talented, most virtuous, most beautiful, hardest working people God ever created doesn’t really have the same luster when it’s told to people who ARENT white Americans. Is that really surprising? Is that not expected?
      President Trump tells you that people respect him. The video footage shows that they laugh at him. President Trump says America is more respected. The truth is that America is less respected and more hated. The entire world feels differently about The United States and President Trump than what he tells you. This is because he is a proven liar who lies about anything and everything. Life Is Strange is just more proof, in an avalanche of proof, about how the rest of the world does not respect or agree with President Trump or his leadership of the United States. And neither do many, many Americans.
