Great job. I was familiar with most of these concepts but its cool that you pulled examples and broke it down literally. My man has been putting on the gang with a shit CPU forever now. Bass Music was so hard to learn before bunting lol
tbh i was plotting ways to show off the new vital presets and show off some concepts i’ve been repeating in my lessons then halfway through recording i thought ‘oh shit didn’t ahee just make this vid’ but i was already in far too deep
TLDW: Make MUSIC, not a randomised sequence of sounds. My tip is to have an idea in your head that you want to realise before you lay anything down. That'll cause you to think musically, and with a not-overwhelming number of sounds which will turn out infinitely more enjoyable for you and your listeners, rather than just "what sound should I put in next".
17:55 Damn, that texture difference more space thing is a really nice concept. Also, this is one of the first tutorials I've ever seen where someone analyses a bunch of different music. So useful, thanks!
Could you do some minimal dnb sound design? Like making synthesized snaps and claps for a true minimal drum and bass sound? Stuff like Heavy and dark - bou & simula remix Minimus - break Anyways thanks for all you do buddy!
That shit about the root note is so true! Traces all the way back to blues riffs imo. When making bass riffs I always think blues, psychedelic and metal, but slower and dirtier. Do you play guitar too sir Bunting?
Some great insights there. I've been trying to understand neuro funk having never done it before. (more traditional kinds) Your insights were actually really interesting. As there confirming a problem I suspected there was with the terminology. "call and response". Your comment ""Like timbres seem together. Different ones being separate". Really clinches that for me. As I see alot of arbitrary just chop off a one and name that a call. Then some next part is then automatically a response. It was F!king my head up. Trying to keep an open mind made my brain fall out. Funny Id come to a similar thing but this was great help. So thanx mate. Take it easy.
@@Pranav9977 Yeah man! I learned a lot from Mr. Bill, You suck at producing, Frequent, Illgatesmusic, Andrew Huang, just to name a few. Honestly theres tons of content out there, if you find an artist you really like, theres probably someone in their sphere who does great tutorials.
Man, this made it click for me. At the same time I have no idea how I didn't connect this to when I used to play bass guitar - go back to the root on the 1 beat - then you can basically do ANYTHING in between.
Thank you for taking the time to teach us. i had an idea on different ways call and response works, but never really grasped it. You really helped me understand it better. Thank you Thank you!
you can make a lot of similar sounds in serum, minus the spectral morph and unison modes another factor is that vitals chorus sounds 1000% better and i use it in almost every sound bc of that
Yo, for someone who is 2 1/2 months into Ableton/Serum and soon to be Vital with a heavy addiction to bass music, this was an amazing stumble just now. I feel like my brain lit up a bunch, you got an easy to digest flow about your sharing. I look forward to the rest and more to come! Keep shining that Bunting light! 💡💡💡
Dude like you mentioned its all looping bro but like isnt existance just based on the idea that the loop changes like time is "independant" from our experience It's fun to play with the idea that all of existence is fabricated but that gets boring pretty quick But its almost impossible to think that way if you aren't alone so clearly we can't be one if we recognize an "other" unless you mean like my left arm is me my right arm is me we are one and we move as one In conclusion the universe is a cell and be the best mitochondria you can be :)
Any artists making music similar to what’s on display at 3:25? I’m not huge on loud dubstep riddim stuff (love the sound design vids though), but that little delay and really dropping on the two always gets me. Didn’t hear a specific artist mentioned for that particular clip.
Lost a project file and have been super bummed.... watching this video has taught me that you can always make new (and better) music. Knowledge is power. Thanks Bunting for giving me and others the inspiration and motivation to keep making weird shit.!
I miss you so much 😢 plz drop more tutorials, easily the most goated 'tuber in the whole tube
The video editing in your videos is low key fantastic. When you hard cut mid sentence I always bust up

This is probably the most helpful video for me I've been so stuck on the first style of arrangement and have been trying to break out of it

I'd bet you did

The sound design was fire but the arrangement was so bad it was like someone made it that way on purpose... 🤔

Another killer video I learn so much every time. keep them coming plssss❤️❤️
Another banger. Your sound design is so clean, just curious if you can make the exact same sounds in Serum or is Vital superior in some way?

Great video on call and response. Would you ever consider making a video on microediting, perhaps with plugins and not just sampling?
