I kind of hope it fails and it's the last game. The reason Soul Calibur 4 and 5 are so lack luster coming after such great games like 2 and 3 is because of crappy corporate meddling. 2 and 3 did so well so it caught the eye of "suits." They forced the devs to include their ideas resulting in a mediocre game. Because 5 did so badly, the "suits" abandoned the game and left the devs to make Soul Calibur 6 all on their own. 6 will be a game of their own making since 3. The game will be great. So do we leave off on a great game, or succeed and catch the eye of suits again and have Soul Calibur 7 be in the same vein as 5?
Guys, please consider buying this game if you like fighting games. It looks so good, just like the old times. Characters are amazing and the creation mode looks like the next step of fighting games. Can´t wait till October 19th.
I already have this pre ordered.....One of my favorite fighting games next to tekken. Games like these push the bar higher and higher. As long as quality reviewers review this game it will flourish.
Just don't buy the Season Pass. We don't need to support the whole "buying on a probable promise" deal, or the "Let's have finished content like Tira be locked behind a separate paywall".

Yep it's fucking dumb. But......I'ma tell you a story about a anime fighting game series called Naruto ultimate ninja storm. In the games final release storm 4 I bought the season pass for 20 dollars. All season pass owners were given extra costumes for some characters and 3 shitty extra story campaigns which were the equivalent boring side quest with no special cutscenes or character dialogue. The kicker is bandai stated that they would only release three dlc. But Guess what💲💲💲💲💲💲they decided to release one last dlc after the fact.... And no it wasn't included in the season pass. Nope this DLC Expansion pile of shit cost 20 dollars included several new op versions of characters already in the game, which completely broke the game and it's mechanics that had been put in place and modified over the last 8 years. It also contained a new story mode with animated cutscenes and dialogue........All the shit we originally hoped for in the season pass. I played the Naruto Storm series for about 3-4 years from generations to Storm 4 and that terrible business decision by bandai not only made me quit there game but has made me hesitate with buying anything they put out and buying dlc...... If you got to the end of this thank you for reading I hope it wasn't to choppy.
Back in the day you'd have to buy whole new editions of games for new content. I'd rather pay 30 bucks for a season pass over buying street fighter 2, super Street fighter, then super Street fighter 2 turbo
I CANT WAIT FOR THIS GAME. I love games with DEEP character creation. A lot of games just throw in basic character creation like naruto and dragon ball games but not SC VI. So I cant wait along with obviously great gameplay and a diverse modes.
Housin Engi It’s funny that they say that, but when you actually look at character creation videos, it seemingly has more. This looks like it is a hybrid customization of Soul Calibur 5 and Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny (because you can edit things like race).

I only use soul Calibur for the character creation. My buddy's and I make a bunch of characters (Dante, Darth Vader, kratos, Batman, etc.) Put it on CPU vs CPU and turn it into a drinking game. Like watching a SciFi UFC fight 😀
@@TheTraveler980 it is a lot of fun actually. We make team names and each pick our 3 characters to fight other teams. There's a winner and looser trophy and rules for wins/losses. It started as a joke but it's turned into a regular get together a few times a year
I luv SC but i gotta admit ive always loved the character creation feature in games, especially if it is vast and offers lots of choice and i loved when it was introduced in SC3, i spent hours and hours on it for days, then using my characters in CPU vs CPU and playing the Chronicles of the Sword mode over and over. I cant wait to get this especially for the character creation to see what it offers. I like to make Dante too, old favorites like Link, Cloud and Sephiroth, i also want to make He-Man and now Skeletor, maybe some Mortal Kombat characters too. Im thinking of putting up some videos of CPU v CPU matches, of the characters i create.
Yes, they both have large well-rounded *personalities* that are bursting at the seams. Hopefully with the power of PC modding magic, more of their *personality* can be revealed.
Well i dont think that necessarily has to be the end of the Soul Calibur series, they could just try new and different ideas like what Square-Enix has done with their FF games. Bandai Namco could simply make a Soul Calibur RPG. Im sure that would be huge.

So...SoulCalibur as a franchise is losing publisher support if SCVI doesn't sell well, and Project Soul are basically putting their hearts and _souls_ into what could possibly be the last SC game they make. Also returning in soul calibur 6 is the guard button. When you press it your character blocks upcoming attacks. Wait there is more, you can also walk. How are these facts lads!?

People really shouldn't buy this game out of pity, or to "keep it alive"... they should buy it if the game itself is actually good enough to be added in someone's library. If it is not, then it deserves to die; Project Soul did bring this upon themselves, if not the Publisher. If it fails in the end, then let it. We don't need entertainment to be a pity party or a nostalgia trip, especially not in the form of a Season Pass.
I've had all except 5, I stopped buying because they got lazy after 3, I bought because I still like the franchise so don't want to see it die but also want them to return to great story telling and great game modes and it seems they have
I agree, devs need to really pull their finger out, think up original ideas, get creative and basically put their heart and soul into a game, not be lazy and just rehash, copy and paste all the previous stuff from their past games and expect people to buy it.

Here they kinda forgot what they produce. *A fighting game* and focused on RPG length story mode/s idk but if I buy a fight game I put more value on the fights and the number of styles I can experience then text and more text.

Yeah, it could be the last game in the franchise depending on how well it sells. *Let's release it immediately after Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty and a few days before Red Dead Redemption while also forcing the life-long fans into paying extra money to play as Tira.* It's as if Bandai-Namco was trying real hard to make it fail. Even freaking EA understood it was suicide to even try and chose to move up Battlefield V into the next month instead and Battlefield is a far more powerful IP than Soul Calibur. Best Character creator was in SC III. Best SC to me was the III... coincidence ?!? It also had the Chronicle of the Sword mode, which was so cool to play over and over !!!
OK Honestly if this game interests you at all, please buy it. It has been confirmed that if this game doesn't do well, it WILL be the last game in the franchise. The game creator is trying his best to please fans, which is why Tira is in the game as she wasnt included the roster at all until he saw how many requests she got

The game looks great, looking forward to it. Season passes are sadly a thing all fighting games have these days. I just hope the price will be reasonable. Since gear is also tossed in there and 100 pieces or such it does sound like we might get more for the money at least.
I'm not sure how much that is in Euro's but it sounds like about the same price of usual season passes that offer 4 characters, which seems to be what they are going for. I guess if it's worth it would depend on the quality of those gear pieces. I'd assume that it is new stuff. But yeah, it would be a waste if it's all modern garbage like swimsuits or such. But if it's classic outfits of Soul Calibur 1 and 2 that haven't been added before, that would be great. Or maybe a Witcher themed gear package. Either way the price seems reasonable enough for the amount of content but we don't know yet about the quality of the content. For all we know the other three DLC characters outside Tira end up being Dampiere, Phyrra and Xiba. Or misplaced guests instead of fan favorites. So I do hope they will announce more about the content of the season pass soon.
Tig Bitties the whole creation system is being brought over from SCV (including some DLC, the Valkyrie Armor set has been seen in some screenshots). So there’s a big chance that most, if not all, of those 100 pieces are gonna be original parts.
Im not interested in season passes, i never buy them. If i cant buy specific things separately, and bit-by-bit, then i'll just be happy to wait a while for the prices to eventually drop.
Just to put it in perspective without any of the dlc from SCV there were roughly 311 (give or take 5) pieces of customization parts not counting hair (47-ish pieces+3 DLC), and there was roughly 152 pieces of DLC. As it stands right now there was about 462 pieces of customization total in SCV and there are about 370 pieces in SCVI without the additional 100. That said some of those customization pieces are now race parts and a lot of them were equipment from characters no longer in the game or were things like pacman and tekken costumes which are very unlikely to make a return. Currently because of the races I imagine that there is a little bit more customization than in the last game if you add the DLC items and this is if the 370 pieces is counting unlockables. I imagine because of certain pieces being races (skeleton, animal ear characters (perhaps this beast characters will also be where we can find the various animal heads?), the elf ears, etc... It's hard to say how much new there might actually be and how much of the customization is now under race options which we know are not counted as customization pieces.. That said we've already seen new equipment based on what the characters are currently wearing. If anything the extra 100 will probably be customization options brought in from the DLC characters (and therefore unique) and a few extra pieces here and there of things people want and probably a few things from V that don't quite make it in the game.
Do note that Tira is confirmed to also be receiving a story mode and will likely come with customization pieces and weapons. There is a chance she'll come with her own soundtrack and possibly even her own stage. All we know for fact is that she's getting a story mode and this sets the standard for the rest of the DLC characters to receive the same.
just to add some info, Guard Impact does not cost Soul Gage anymore but it does cost Guard Gage, if your Guard Gage gets too low and you try to block an attack you might suffer a guard break which leaves you quite vulnerable for that instant..
Ive been playing soul calibur 5 for years, thinking they will never get a sequel. When i heard they were making a new one, i couldn't stop myself from preordering the 100 version. This game is great and has a ton of life to it. I hope it survives

Thanks for this video. I remember how much I loved the community when SC4 came out. Every battle was a rewarding experience, and their was a lot of appreciation who put their soul into the creation feature. Im going to preorder the collector edition as a thank you to the developers as it really looks like they listened and made this for fans.
I think soul calibur fell off back when the 4th one can out. The 5th was probably the worse. Fighting games need to take lessons from the old games. I don’t see what’s wrong with having an arcade mode with endings for each character and a story mode. Plus all the other modes from back in the day. I think I’ll wait till the full game comes out. As why pay £50 pounds when it’s first out. When you could pay £50 when all of the characters are out.

Something to keep in mind about Tira is they didn't intend for her to be part of the main roster nor (allegedly) part of the game at all. When people started asking for the character they decided to go ahead and develop her for the release but as is to be expected it wasn't part of the budget. It's not uncommon so it might be that she's a DLC to both recoup for the extra development cost and make some $$$ while they're at it.
I thought this could be the best perfect soul calibur game, but they just always miss some marks to be perfect. Missing Hwang, Lizardman, Cassandra, Setsuka, Rock, Amy is a big letdown.
If all the extra DLC is what it takes to keep Soul Calibur alive then I’ll happily drop an extra £20 for the season pass. As long as the microtransactions aren’t as obnoxious as MKX, which didn’t even need the extra support money-wise.
I never really got invested in soul Calibur (despite owning a soul Calibur 2 fight stick and game) but I think for the future of the series, I'll invest in it.
Well if this game fails they will stop making them. it will not be cause the producer had no confidence in the game it will be do to other factors. I feel the business model videogames has been warped and needs to change. They need to stop nickel diming people out there money. Just give us a full game and stop playing game with us.
Best fighting games series! Definitely has the most replay value. Been playing it since Soul Calibur 2. This looks like it takes the best parts of Soul Calibur 3 and Soul Calibur 5 and combines them. I am looking forward to it. Hopefully it does great! Also, correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t Tira a pre-order bonus, not a season pass character. I thought I read somewhere that she would be a day 1 dlc character for those who preordered the game.
Same, thats a very good point. I wasnt too keen on the armor break, especially aftr you've worked hard creating such a cool looking character, only to loose most your armor after 4-5 powerful hits.
This seems like the perfect time for a new player like me to jump in. Only time I had played the game was at friends' houses back in the PS2 days and I primarily play on PC, so with the story being retold, a cool looking character customization feature in which they have more use and it getting released on Steam I may finally end up buying one of these games.

They showed the game off countless times with at least 22 character slots even after the game was completed and only announced 20, they have day one dlc, a $30 season pass with only 4 characters, the smallest roster since SC1. If Soul Calibur dies it's because they killed it. Sure there most likely are a few hidden characters but that doesn't help if they don't tell you, it's not like new fans or casual players are thinking about that and with game company's being so greedy lately even I'm starting to think Inferno is the only unlockable character
@@paizubong477 Watch Dynasty's video on Inferno. He mentions that when someone unlocked Inferno, the message read: character unlocked Inferno. It didn't just say Inferno unlocked, but character. This more than likely means that Inferno isn't the only unlockable character. Cassandra would be wonderful.

Inferno is also a copied NM with some own moves. Sadly that indicates they wastes time on clones while really wanting unique stuff. Also wasted time on clones while saying Tira didn't have enough time to be made. There is so much wrong with what we know. It has good gameplay. But we don't even know if it is repeatable friendly as well. There is so much unknown atm it is scary how they do the marketing.

Tira only came back in due to popular demand. kind of wish she didn't cause this is just ridiculous people tend forget that if this was a during SC3 then I can understand getting mad that she's a dlc. But, when multiple people and the creator basically says that this takes place between 1&2 I don't see the issue. It's not like she don't come with her own story for god sakes.
Im hoping i can buy the 100+ character customization pieces separately, i hate season pass, ive never bought them. Im really looking forward to the character customization the most in this game, but if i have to wait for the extra customize items i will.
1:08 Ok, just that shot of what I’m assuming is Young Siegfried taking up Soul Edge like in his ending for Soul Blade, a concept that wasn’t revisited until this game, (kinda like how, for some reason in Tekken, Kazuya being tossed off the cliff has two different iterations of itself, one of them being while he was still conscious, actually trying to fight out of Heihachi’s grip, and the other being where he’s unconscious after trying to get some payback on him and losing his fight with him in the process) is giving me plenty of reasons why I should get the game
jamming I dont think a lot of people understand the process, time, and cost of making video games. They need to recuperate the cost from developing the game (which is millions) and make enough to work on DLC or future games.

The last game i bought and only game i bought since transferring over to xb1 from 360 was GTAV..i will spend money for soul calibur ..it was my second favourite fighting game..king of fighters 99 for ps was my first. I did enjoy tekken 3 but sc jjust has that spark..id go in creation mode for HOURS..

I find it funny that people forget (or never knew) that Soulcalibur wasn't the first game in the series. Instead, the first game was either titled Soul Edge or Soul Blade, depending on platform. Soulcalibur was the sequel to that game. As such, the "very first Soulcalibur" was actually the "very second" game in the series.
Very informative but I think you missed a detail about guard impact. While there's no cost to the regular meter, I've heard that reckless use of guard impact will make someone more susceptible to guard breaks if they try block afterwards. An understanding detail to miss seeing as guard gauge values are obfuscated from players, presented only as a changing color outline of the health bars. My source for this is the Reversal Edge explanation video on the Avoiding the Puddle RUclips channel.
This sort-of reboot reminds me of the phenomenal Mortal Kombat (2011). I'm not one to tout story over gameplay (one is not supposed to), but that game did something very clever by having Raiden send a message through time to his slightly-younger self about the Armageddon future. The story rebooted itself in-universe. I don't think SC6 will do something like that but it would be pretty slick if it did!
Yeah honestly it’s one of my favorite franchises but this team has run it into the ground. I hope it sells well but even taking into consideration the changes it doesn’t seem like it’s much different
I just think the way they've gone about Tira's whole deal for this game is a slap in the face. You don't take a character who's been there from day 1 and scrap her, bring her back by fan request only, and then charge for her.

Saying the series will be killed if if doesn't do well is petty scare tactics and shows how little faith they have in their own game. If it doesn't do well it won't be because fans didn't support it, it will be because the game is bad which falls fully on the heads of the developers.
I loved playing Soul Calibur 1 and 2 on the Dreamcast and Gamecube respectively. I hope this does well and I hope it is released to Switch. I will likely get it this month on my PS4. However, I have seen very little marketing for this game and very little push.
I was going to buy this game for the Xbox One, but I might wait around if there is just the slightest hope for a Switch release...especially if Link would make a return :D
I can't wait to play this game. Too bad it will be around 2 months before I play it because I don't think I'm buying any games until Black Friday next month, and if I wait until Black Friday I won't be playing any of them until Christmas Eve or a couple days before like I did last year. That sucks because I really want to play Soul Calibur 6, Red Dead Redemption 2, Fallout 76, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Battlefield V, and WWE 2k19, but I already promised myself that these will be Christmas gifts to myself. Neo Android. Ai battles yes. Pvp...no. Multi directional blocking is very intense. If they attack below, you have to low block. If its high, you have to high block. Plus fake out attacks, multiple counters to worry about and special attack skills. Also the rock paper scizzors feature is kinda stupid...
Xiba, Natsu, Z.W.E.I, Viola, Dampierre, Edge Master, Pyrrha, Patroklos have disappeared in Soul Calibur 6. All of them are playable in Soul Calibur 5....
*For the guys that haven't the beta let me give you a taste what actually happens in the game* Longsword characters are overpowered (reach is everything ) especially nightmare. And yes critical edge cannot be spammed only if there is a small opening during combat but the problem is when u use on someone or vice versa the victim is frozen in place with no chance to block (u can only block by predicting the finisher😣). Also very easy ring outs don't suprised if someone puts u 3 rounds straight by pushing of constantly.
This game looks so sweet I'm buying it ASAP. Soul Calibur 6 would have to be dumb down graphically everything just for to run on the switch, it might not work that well in my opinion.
I am really looking forward to the launch of this game. Been a big fan since SC2, and while SC5 turned me off a bit (with the heavy change in roster), I'm looking forward to seeing it back to its roots. One fact I want to correct about Cameo characters... In Soul Calibur 2, only the Gamecube version had Link. PS2 had Heihachi and Xbox had Spawn.

I kind of hope it fails and it's the last game. The reason Soul Calibur 4 and 5 are so lack luster coming after such great games like 2 and 3 is because of crappy corporate meddling. 2 and 3 did so well so it caught the eye of "suits." They forced the devs to include their ideas resulting in a mediocre game. Because 5 did so badly, the "suits" abandoned the game and left the devs to make Soul Calibur 6 all on their own. 6 will be a game of their own making since 3. The game will be great.
So do we leave off on a great game, or succeed and catch the eye of suits again and have Soul Calibur 7 be in the same vein as 5?
On the bright side, there will be a beta next week which I heard will have 15 characters playable. Hopefully this gets the game put there.

Just don't buy the Season Pass. We don't need to support the whole "buying on a probable promise" deal, or the "Let's have finished content like Tira be locked behind a separate paywall".

But......I'ma tell you a story about a anime fighting game series called Naruto ultimate ninja storm. In the games final release storm 4 I bought the season pass for 20 dollars.
All season pass owners were given extra costumes for some characters and 3 shitty extra story campaigns which were the equivalent boring side quest with no special cutscenes or character dialogue.
The kicker is bandai stated that they would only release three dlc. But Guess what💲💲💲💲💲💲they decided to release one last dlc after the fact.... And no it wasn't included in the season pass.
Nope this DLC Expansion pile of shit cost 20 dollars included several new op versions of characters already in the game, which completely broke the game and it's mechanics that had been put in place and modified over the last 8 years. It also contained a new story mode with animated cutscenes and dialogue........All the shit we originally hoped for in the season pass.
I played the Naruto Storm series for about 3-4 years from generations to Storm 4 and that terrible business decision by bandai not only made me quit there game but has made me hesitate with buying anything they put out and buying dlc......

I CANT WAIT FOR THIS GAME. I love games with DEEP character creation. A lot of games just throw in basic character creation like naruto and dragon ball games but not SC VI. So I cant wait along with obviously great gameplay and a diverse modes.

I only use soul Calibur for the character creation. My buddy's and I make a bunch of characters (Dante, Darth Vader, kratos, Batman, etc.) Put it on CPU vs CPU and turn it into a drinking game. Like watching a SciFi UFC fight 😀

@@TheTraveler980 it is a lot of fun actually. We make team names and each pick our 3 characters to fight other teams. There's a winner and looser trophy and rules for wins/losses. It started as a joke but it's turned into a regular get together a few times a year

I luv SC but i gotta admit ive always loved the character creation feature in games, especially if it is vast and offers lots of choice and i loved when it was introduced in SC3, i spent hours and hours on it for days, then using my characters in CPU vs CPU and playing the Chronicles of the Sword mode over and over.
I cant wait to get this especially for the character creation to see what it offers. I like to make Dante too, old favorites like Link, Cloud and Sephiroth, i also want to make He-Man and now Skeletor, maybe some Mortal Kombat characters too.

Well i dont think that necessarily has to be the end of the Soul Calibur series, they could just try new and different ideas like what Square-Enix has done with their FF games. Bandai Namco could simply make a Soul Calibur RPG. Im sure that would be huge.

People really shouldn't buy this game out of pity, or to "keep it alive"... they should buy it if the game itself is actually good enough to be added in someone's library. If it is not, then it deserves to die; Project Soul did bring this upon themselves, if not the Publisher. If it fails in the end, then let it. We don't need entertainment to be a pity party or a nostalgia trip, especially not in the form of a Season Pass.
I've had all except 5, I stopped buying because they got lazy after 3, I bought because I still like the franchise so don't want to see it die but also want them to return to great story telling and great game modes and it seems they have
I agree, devs need to really pull their finger out, think up original ideas, get creative and basically put their heart and soul into a game, not be lazy and just rehash, copy and paste all the previous stuff from their past games and expect people to buy it.

Here they kinda forgot what they produce. *A fighting game* and focused on RPG length story mode/s idk but if I buy a fight game I put more value on the fights and the number of styles I can experience then text and more text.

Yeah, it could be the last game in the franchise depending on how well it sells. *Let's release it immediately after Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty and a few days before Red Dead Redemption while also forcing the life-long fans into paying extra money to play as Tira.* It's as if Bandai-Namco was trying real hard to make it fail. Even freaking EA understood it was suicide to even try and chose to move up Battlefield V into the next month instead and Battlefield is a far more powerful IP than Soul Calibur. If the game falls short, Bandai-Namco should 100% take the blame. Not the fans.

OK Honestly if this game interests you at all, please buy it. It has been confirmed that if this game doesn't do well, it WILL be the last game in the franchise. The game creator is trying his best to please fans, which is why Tira is in the game as she wasnt included the roster at all until he saw how many requests she got

The game looks great, looking forward to it. Season passes are sadly a thing all fighting games have these days. I just hope the price will be reasonable. Since gear is also tossed in there and 100 pieces or such it does sound like we might get more for the money at least.
I'm not sure how much that is in Euro's but it sounds like about the same price of usual season passes that offer 4 characters, which seems to be what they are going for.
I guess if it's worth it would depend on the quality of those gear pieces.
I'd assume that it is new stuff. But yeah, it would be a waste if it's all modern garbage like swimsuits or such.
But if it's classic outfits of Soul Calibur 1 and 2 that haven't been added before, that would be great. Or maybe a Witcher themed gear package.
Either way the price seems reasonable enough for the amount of content but we don't know yet about the quality of the content.
For all we know the other three DLC characters outside Tira end up being Dampiere, Phyrra and Xiba. Or misplaced guests instead of fan favorites.
So I do hope they will announce more about the content of the season pass soon.
Tig Bitties the whole creation system is being brought over from SCV (including some DLC, the Valkyrie Armor set has been seen in some screenshots). So there’s a big chance that most, if not all, of those 100 pieces are gonna be original parts.
Im not interested in season passes, i never buy them. If i cant buy specific things separately, and bit-by-bit, then i'll just be happy to wait a while for the prices to eventually drop.
Just to put it in perspective without any of the dlc from SCV there were roughly 311 (give or take 5) pieces of customization parts not counting hair (47-ish pieces+3 DLC), and there was roughly 152 pieces of DLC.
As it stands right now there was about 462 pieces of customization total in SCV and there are about 370 pieces in SCVI without the additional 100. That said some of those customization pieces are now race parts and a lot of them were equipment from characters no longer in the game or were things like pacman and tekken costumes which are very unlikely to make a return.
Currently because of the races I imagine that there is a little bit more customization than in the last game if you add the DLC items and this is if the 370 pieces is counting unlockables. I imagine because of certain pieces being races (skeleton, animal ear characters (perhaps this beast characters will also be where we can find the various animal heads?), the elf ears, etc... It's hard to say how much new there might actually be and how much of the customization is now under race options which we know are not counted as customization pieces..
That said we've already seen new equipment based on what the characters are currently wearing. If anything the extra 100 will probably be customization options brought in from the DLC characters (and therefore unique) and a few extra pieces here and there of things people want and probably a few things from V that don't quite make it in the game.
Do note that Tira is confirmed to also be receiving a story mode and will likely come with customization pieces and weapons. There is a chance she'll come with her own soundtrack and possibly even her own stage. All we know for fact is that she's getting a story mode and this sets the standard for the rest of the DLC characters to receive the same.
just to add some info, Guard Impact does not cost Soul Gage anymore but it does cost Guard Gage, if your Guard Gage gets too low and you try to block an attack you might suffer a guard break which leaves you quite vulnerable for that instant..

Ive been playing soul calibur 5 for years, thinking they will never get a sequel. When i heard they were making a new one, i couldn't stop myself from preordering the 100 version. This game is great and has a ton of life to it. I hope it survives

Thanks for this video. I remember how much I loved the community when SC4 came out. Every battle was a rewarding experience, and their was a lot of appreciation who put their soul into the creation feature.

I think soul calibur fell off back when the 4th one can out. The 5th was probably the worse. Fighting games need to take lessons from the old games. I don’t see what’s wrong with having an arcade mode with endings for each character and a story mode. Plus all the other modes from back in the day. I think I’ll wait till the full game comes out. As why pay £50 pounds when it’s first out. When you could pay £50 when all of the characters are out.

You don't know that beyond what they described. Quantity does not equal quality, nor vice-versa.
The Traveler they have 3 story modes, arcade mode, training, museum, versus, and online modes. I know that’s plenty of content

Something to keep in mind about Tira is they didn't intend for her to be part of the main roster nor (allegedly) part of the game at all. When people started asking for the character they decided to go ahead and develop her for the release but as is to be expected it wasn't part of the budget. It's not uncommon so it might be that she's a DLC to both recoup for the extra development cost and make some $$$ while they're at it.
I thought this could be the best perfect soul calibur game, but they just always miss some marks to be perfect. Missing Hwang, Lizardman, Cassandra, Setsuka, Rock, Amy is a big letdown.
Hwang was in the story mode, I think he's going to be playable..

Best fighting games series! Definitely has the most replay value. Been playing it since Soul Calibur 2. This looks like it takes the best parts of Soul Calibur 3 and Soul Calibur 5 and combines them. I am looking forward to it. Hopefully it does great! Also, correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t Tira a pre-order bonus, not a season pass character. I thought I read somewhere that she would be a day 1 dlc character for those who preordered the game.

Same, thats a very good point. I wasnt too keen on the armor break, especially aftr you've worked hard creating such a cool looking character, only to loose most your armor after 4-5 powerful hits.
This seems like the perfect time for a new player like me to jump in. Only time I had played the game was at friends' houses back in the PS2 days and I primarily play on PC, so with the story being retold, a cool looking character customization feature in which they have more use and it getting released on Steam I may finally end up buying one of these games.

They showed the game off countless times with at least 22 character slots even after the game was completed and only announced 20, they have day one dlc, a $30 season pass with only 4 characters, the smallest roster since SC1. If Soul Calibur dies it's because they killed it. Sure there most likely are a few hidden characters but that doesn't help if they don't tell you, it's not like new fans or casual players are thinking about that and with game company's being so greedy lately even I'm starting to think Inferno is the only unlockable character

This more than likely means that Inferno isn't the only unlockable character. Cassandra would be wonderful.

That char might be the only char unlockable. They don't see it as unlikely. Inferno is also a copied NM with some own moves. Sadly that indicates they wastes time on clones while really wanting unique stuff. Also wasted time on clones while saying Tira didn't have enough time to be made. There is so much wrong with what we know. It has good gameplay. But we don't even know if it is repeatable friendly as well. There is so much unknown atm it is scary how they do the marketing.

1:08 Ok, just that shot of what I’m assuming is Young Siegfried taking up Soul Edge like in his ending for Soul Blade, a concept that wasn’t revisited until this game, (kinda like how, for some reason in Tekken, Kazuya being tossed off the cliff has two different iterations of itself, one of them being while he was still conscious, actually trying to fight out of Heihachi’s grip, and the other being where he’s unconscious after trying to get some payback on him and losing his fight with him in the process) is giving me plenty of reasons why I should get the game

They need to recuperate the cost from developing the game (which is millions) and make enough to work on DLC or future games.

I'm a big soul Calibur fan and player and I'm so thrilled to have watched this. I'm glad they're bring back the original characters like Maxi, seigfried, and kilik who are my top favorites. Can't wait.
Now that Raphael has been confirmed I'll be ok if this is the last soul series game. I'll be playing it for decades just like I've done all the others. Plus they may need another franchise to move away from the oversexualization and extra weak story.
I've bought the deluxe version on PS4 and Pc with season pass, damn it if it comes out on the switch I'll buy that shit too!

The last game i bought and only game i bought since transferring over to xb1 from 360 was GTAV..i will spend money for soul calibur ..it was my second favourite fighting game..king of fighters 99 for ps was my first. I did enjoy tekken 3 but sc jjust has that spark..id go in creation mode for HOURS..

Never played a Soul Calibur game and have been looking for something new. Good thing I watched this, now I’m kinds convinced to get it.
I find it funny that people forget (or never knew) that Soulcalibur wasn't the first game in the series. Instead, the first game was either titled Soul Edge or Soul Blade, depending on platform. Soulcalibur was the sequel to that game. As such, the "very first Soulcalibur" was actually the "very second" game in the series.
There's another mechanic in as well but Namco doesn't advertise it out of fear that it will deter casuals and many core gamers from playing.
Very informative but I think you missed a detail about guard impact.
While there's no cost to the regular meter, I've heard that reckless use of guard impact will make someone more susceptible to guard breaks if they try block afterwards. An understanding detail to miss seeing as guard gauge values are obfuscated from players, presented only as a changing color outline of the health bars.

This sort-of reboot reminds me of the phenomenal Mortal Kombat (2011). I'm not one to tout story over gameplay (one is not supposed to), but that game did something very clever by having Raiden send a message through time to his slightly-younger self about the Armageddon future. The story rebooted itself in-universe. I don't think SC6 will do something like that but it would be pretty slick if it did!
Yeah honestly it’s one of my favorite franchises but this team has run it into the ground. I hope it sells well but even taking into consideration the changes it doesn’t seem like it’s much different
I just think the way they've gone about Tira's whole deal for this game is a slap in the face. You don't take a character who's been there from day 1 and scrap her, bring her back by fan request only, and then charge for her.

this looks absolutely incredible, so glad Astaroth and Cervantes are in it, ain't so sure about Tira though, I hope it blows Bandai Namco's expectations out of the water and sells more than GTA V on opening day...
Saying the series will be killed if if doesn't do well is petty scare tactics and shows how little faith they have in their own game. If it doesn't do well it won't be because fans didn't support it, it will be because the game is bad which falls fully on the heads of the developers.
I loved playing Soul Calibur 1 and 2 on the Dreamcast and Gamecube respectively. I hope this does well and I hope it is released to Switch. I will likely get it this month on my PS4. However, I have seen very little marketing for this game and very little push.
I was going to buy this game for the Xbox One, but I might wait around if there is just the slightest hope for a Switch release...especially if Link would make a return :D

I can't wait to play this game. Too bad it will be around 2 months before I play it because I don't think I'm buying any games until Black Friday next month, and if I wait until Black Friday I won't be playing any of them until Christmas Eve or a couple days before like I did last year. That sucks because I really want to play Soul Calibur 6, Red Dead Redemption 2, Fallout 76, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Battlefield V, and WWE 2k19, but I already promised myself that these will be Christmas gifts to myself. I might not be able to wait for Soul Calibur 6 though.

Pvp...no. Multi directional blocking is very intense. If they attack below, you have to low block. If its high, you have to high block. Plus fake out attacks, multiple counters to worry about and special attack skills.
Also the rock paper scizzors feature is kinda stupid...

Xiba, Natsu, Z.W.E.I, Viola, Dampierre, Edge Master, Pyrrha, Patroklos have disappeared in Soul Calibur 6. All of them are playable in Soul Calibur 5....

Longsword characters are overpowered (reach is everything ) especially nightmare.
And yes critical edge cannot be spammed only if there is a small opening during combat but the problem is when u use on someone or vice versa the victim is frozen in place with no chance to block (u can only block by predicting the finisher😣).
Also very easy ring outs don't suprised if someone puts u 3 rounds straight by pushing of constantly.
This game looks so sweet I'm buying it ASAP. Soul Calibur 6 would have to be dumb down graphically everything just for to run on the switch, it might not work that well in my opinion.
I enjoyed myself playing as Kilik again with his original style during the beta.
I am really looking forward to the launch of this game. Been a big fan since SC2, and while SC5 turned me off a bit (with the heavy change in roster), I'm looking forward to seeing it back to its roots.
One fact I want to correct about Cameo characters...
In Soul Calibur 2, only the Gamecube version had Link. PS2 had Heihachi and Xbox had Spawn.
