- Closing #Itiwit 10L #drybag and securing it to the #ItiwitX100+ 2P inflatable kayak using the bag strap. I recommend that you always secure bags in your kayak with a strap or similar to avoid gear falling out.
Safety note: When you have straps, lines, a tow rope or anything that could entangle you in case of a capsize, it's important to carry a kayak knife or a line cutter to be able to cut yourself free in case of entanglement. Even if you don't have anything that could entangle you on the kayak, this is still a good idea, as fishing lines, ropes or other things in the water could still be something a kayaker could get entangled in.

Sadly those Itiwit drybags have low IP level protection against water. According to The Decathlon they are good against some splash and rain but that is all.
I see! One of them saved me when I had it with me in Lithuania where I brought my inflatable kayak along during travel. It fell in the water with extra clothes etc inside - all remained dry. No long immersion but still.
@@AirOnTheWater I wanted to buy those and tried one in the store. They are sturdy and I think most of the time work as a drybag even the Decathlon dont recommend to use those as a drybag, just like somesthing which good against rain. Their IP rating is IPX4. A real drybag is IPX7 at least, but those are probably much expensive.
I also own the x100, such a great craft!!
It's a nice one. It was, in fact, the first inflatable kayak I ever purchased! Accidentally seeing the bag at Decathlon while looking for bike parts is what got me into this awesome kayaking journey. What's your best paddle memory?
You could also secure the strap around the seat straps, which are less likely to break.
Hello friend .This is a beautiful stable and solid boat ! Cool !
It is indeed! It was actually the first inflatable kayak I bought and the one that first caught my eye and got me into inflatable kayaking. Have brought it almost 6000km to Africa and seen sea turtles in it 😎
@@360.Outdoors.Videos The Txingudi has a completely different performance though 😎 I keep this one as it seats 2 people and it's been handy to borrow to friends especially.

Not only in Open Boats
Wherever there's something that needs securing, that's indeed something to consider as long as you don't want to have your gear fall into the water.. at the same time, wherever there are straps or anything similar, also important as a safety feature to carry a kayak knife or a line cutter to be able to free yourself if you were to get entangled somehow.
@@AirOnTheWater shure a knife on the PFD is a must have
And yes there are exceptions
such as my camera case is not fixed because it could prevent me from getting out because I have it sometimes in the cockpit
@@Fixedandfotographie Indeed! Safety first, always!
Any tips for getting my Itiwit fins in their slots? They only go half way and then get too tight to slide anymore.
@@Kliffy123 That doesn't sound right. Are you sure you're pushing them in the right direction? If you still have trouble, I recommend asking around in the "Itiwit users group" on Facebook.
I once had stones stuck in the slot that had to be take n out.
@@Schira02 Good point, important to check that it's all clean and clear. However unlikely that they'd all be tricky... again, to make sure that they're being put in the right direction.
