I was there and the wind whipped the sound away before it got anywhere near the crowd. Nice to finally hear what it should have sounded like. The best British band to never make it big.
Fantastic, I've been listening to the bootleg of this for about 12 years, never even knew there was a vid. Thanks for uploading it! THough I could have lived without knowing Willie played a keytar frankly. Ah good, he smashed it. One less keytar! Go Willie!
It is Donington (I was there), the bootleg that this footage comes from also had their Reading performance from the same year on it, that's why at the end of this (the last song at Donington) you can see a split second of where the Reading set starts. Also remember that CJ wasn't in the band by the time they played Reading (just two months after).
Probably my favourite Wildhearts song - the first six times I saw them (between 29/3/92 and 16/1/93 between Liverpool and Buckley) they'd always open with Nothing Ever Changes segueing into Turning American and close with Liberty Cap segueing into Love You Til I Don't - happy days!
Brilliant video. I've never seen this before. Didn't know there was footage of this show available. It brings back alot of happy memories. Would love a copy of this. Where did you get it from?
The best British band over the last 15 years!!!!
Lordy. I was there that day. Instant fan.
That's 25 years, mate! ...the in-glorious Wildhearts weren't born yet...
Just saw them play this great song at the Key Club in LA. The Wildhearts are the best band to come from England in the last 2 decades!
Saw them 3 times! Best British band out of the 90's........discuss!

Yeah. So was I. June 4th. But felt like February 4th. But these guys were energy in a bottle. Still one of my fav bands today, in my 50s now. 😭😂😂😂
I miss them, one of the best bands I ever saw.......and i've seen one or two.
Just back from watching them play in Glasgow... Still as good as ever

I've met Ginger a few times and thought he was sound :s
so you sayin that wildhearts were 13 in this video, filmed in 1994, lol
sorry for being ignorant, but what was ginger's problem? please someone explain me! thanks
Was that a real Gibson les paul custom, he threw into the crowd?
"Ah good, he smashed it. One less keytar!"
I have some of the keys from it... would have prefered the guitar though.
it did, but they sat 'im on a box and he carried on, if memory serves
Who was better in 1981?
Who is the guy with the keyboard?
Willie Dowling
uhhh...Stevie Ray and Jimi Hendrix, 2 of the greatest guitar players of all time...
The Wildhearts have better songs, though
