I've got to ask - what's the story with MLS players taking really hopeless shots at goal. Like you're 30 yards out, you've got no chance, and you just kind of roll the ball towards the keeper who scoops it up. What do they think they're going to achieve by that? Do they want to hit some "shots on target" stat they have in their contracts? Because I haven't seen this nonsense in any other league in the world.
Idk. Since the beginning, MLS teams never seemed to get enough shots (quality or otherwise) on goal. My guess is they have and still do try to make up for it by being more willing to shoot from lower quality spots (because you cant score if you dont shoot). Your comment is amusing because 10-15-20-25...years ago it was way way WAY worse.
