In LAST CAB TO DARWIN, Jeremy Sims (Beneath Hill 60) directs Australian acting legends, Michael Caton and Jacki Weaver against the backdrop of the stunning Australian outback and alongside the outstanding Mark Coles Smith, Ningali Lawford-Wolf and Emma Hamilton. Caton gives the performance of a lifetime as Rex, a Broken Hill cab driver who, when told he doesn’t have long to live, sets out on an epic journey to Darwin in a bid to die on his own terms. Along the way he discovers that before you can end your life you have to live it, and to live it you have to share it.
Filled with hope, humour and heart, LAST CAB TO DARWIN takes us on a journey in cinemas from August 6, reminding us that it’s never too late to start living.
Being from rural Australia and travelling many times I loved seeing some of these great places on the big screen. Mataranka, daly waters, pink roadhouse and the broken hill mine memorial all highlights of life in Australia. Can't wait to see this film.
Looks beautiful.
Just watched this, what a brilliant movie. Tackles a few different issues with great honesty. Beautifully crafted movie, highly recommend.
This is one of the best movies I have seen in my life
Michael Caton's performance was astounding. I'd forgotten just how good an actor he could be.
Rosé's on the ground MV brought me here.
I saw this movie on a plane, it was a charming film.
+Peter Payne :D
It's always the little films. What I mean by that the one's that are low budget and don't make the oscars and don't have the advertising. This is a gem of a film. A small story that we all know or will know and many stories in between. I was a little surprised by the openly blatent racism in Austrailia. I am an American but I loved this movie. it's a ten.
+AL eng It's not racism as you would understand
+Space Bar I don't think you actually understand racism by your lack of thought in your comment.
yes so it really is brilliant, I wept when I saw it
Never watched any touching one this one. Absolutely heart touching ❤❤❤

I seen this film today and it's amazing. The filming and acting was brilliant. Bring the tissues if you go and see it!
I watched this at the Sydney Film Festival. I wouldn't mind watching this again at the cinemas.
I think this movie is brilliant... Worth to watch it.

This is a great example of equality and rights
im arguing the for and against arguments for my english presentation, im having trouble deciding which side to be on , since both sides have extremely great points, what are your thoughts on euthanasia?, what side would you choose
I just finished watching this movie and I have to say this. In a few hours we are putting my girls dog down, she is at work and I'm over here at her house watching her dog and we just found out that when he had surgery to get his cancer out they didn't get all of it and now he doesn't have long to live. Her dogs name is Rex and he is dying of stomach cancer. We are about to euthanize him in 6 or 7 hours. The main character in this movie. His name is Rex and he is dying of stomach cancer and is trying euthanasia. Idk how to write it all to make sense but there's many more things that aligned here and my mind is pretty blown.
I hope Rex is at a happy place now. I'm sure he is :)
+twinny922c thank you. There were so many similarities in the movie it was weird. We put him down and I hope u are right.
YEA-HAR
I'm gonna cry my F*CKING eyes out if I watch this...... UGHhhhh!!!!! lol.. :'(
Yea, I watched it...& I was definitely sobbing.. :'((( *tears*..
+Tarah Lynn ...I'm not usually an emotional person but I was sobbing like a baby at the end ..I think probably because Rex and Polly's relationship is so much like mine and my maori neighbours ...brilliant film
Darwin, a nice place to leave...
matttd9490 good comment
Yet people always come back 😂😂😂
Nothing wrong with the acting. But speaking purely for myself, as an Australian I cannot stand the vast majority of Australian TV shows or movies. I remember going to see this when it was out in the cinemas (those things that used to play movies before COVID), as my family wanted to see it. 2 hours of my life down the crapper...
